    The "Alright, alright, alright..." break was inspired by Muddy Waters, "Evan's Shuffle"

    Back in 1967 I loved this. Cream and Hendrix were all I listened to. Now, having heard the Doctor Ross (some say original, others that very similar songs were around in the 30's and 40's ) version I have to say I like the Doctor Ross version , hands down. Mick Abrahams playing this tune in Jethro Tull and Blodwyn Pig is just an imitation of Clapton's work on Fresh Cream. Just as Canned Heat nails Rollin' 'n Tumblin' from all others so does Doctor Ross back in 1961, this.

    Nothing like in ‘69 going to the toad stool smoke filled room, liit only by black lights and 500 people sitting on the floor listening to Cream til 4 in the morning. Ears need readjustment for days.

    I just realized the harmonica & lead guitar are playing the melody to Howlin Wolf's "Do the Do" from 0:22 to 0:43 on this tune...

    Thank you for this mono version! The original mix is annoying for the first 20 seconds because it's all isolated to the left side.

    Jethro Tull " This Was" their first album with Mick Abrahams on guitar KILLED Clapton's version just a year after Creams release. Clapton was NOT god by a LONG SHOT !!! Compare This was to Fresh Cream....no contest. Cream after this album was the beginning Cream's and Clapton's place in history of greatness live Jamming band of all time.

    1:11 bad impersonnation of a black man. One of my fave Cream songs, though

    • @Will-Max
      @Will-Max Před 3 lety +1

      What makes you say it's an impersonation? It adds needed break from the intensity of the song, it's genius.
