There's a studied levity and richness of sound, which I believe is one of the best ways to play Dvorak,. In an age where crass, garish, overdone, and self-glorifying, self-indulging orchestra playing is rampant in an over-commercialised age of music consumption, this is really quite satisfying.
Especially notable in the opening, the adagio, and in themiddle section of the fourth movement, this is really quite well done; not to mention the studied bombastic ending! . A great congratulations to the FRS for a great performance. Capturing the almost pastoral feel of this symphony amidst its dark, sonorous, and melodically remarkable themes throughout this symphony is really quite something to hear. Wish I was there.

This is the first time in about 7 years that I´ve been watching the Frankfurt Orchestra on CZcams that I've seen a different oboe player. After about 5 years I really made it a point to see if he was still there, Never missed a beat until this time. I hope nothing happend to him. His replacement seemed really good. Life goes on.
