At his best, Andrés Orozco-Estrada is a top flight conductor - and he and the Frankfurt Radio Symphony are a wonderful partnership. This performance in many ways outclasses many of the performances of more "famous" orchestras - but this orchestra deserves to be considered in the same conversation as those orchestras. Many great conductors and orchestras have recorded the Dvorak 8th Symphony, but few have the combination of drama, intensity, beauty and charm. When life returns (hopefully soon), this work is an excellent one for the pair to tour with and show how magnificent this partnership is.

This is what we must design, no doubt, no hesitate an outstanding performance. Since I began to be fan of HR FRANKFURT Sinfonie, the emotion to listen any composer's music has grown up to the highest level. First, the musicians are all of them really soloists: I have heard them during the worst of coronavirus. Second: maestro Andrés Orozco-Estrada goes into the deepest feelings of the composition which ever it is. And, last but not least, the recordings and Filmings are possibly the best to be listen and watch.
CONGRATULATIONS to everyone in HR FRANKFURT Sinfonie. Viel Danke. Muchas gracias, thanks a million 👋👋👋👋

It seems that the last movement of 8th symphony has some similar rhythms and playfulness as Dvořak´s Wind serenade of the last movement.... Also, 2nd movement of 8th symphony may be a version of the wind serenade... Watch the video of Conductor Estrada and the wind serenade.

    TLDR: Bravo!
I've only been had classical music in my life for maybe a litter over a decade now and mostly used Berlin Phil, Vienna Phil, and a few American orchestra as a references. But this orchestra easily one of my go-to's as of recently to listen to just for the sheer amount of energy these awesome musicians share among each other. It's something about the sound, balance, and direction of their playing that has had me hooked on them for a quite some time now.

@Alcina Thank you for taking the time to give me this information. I had no idea of the details of his connection with Houston (obviously). @Alcina Hi Alcina, And I would be number two. He is at home with just about every facet of orchestral music and with the Frankfurt orchestra, in my opinion, out -performs the Berlin ensemble - more warmth, and a feeling of youthful spontaneity with even the deepest works. The Weiner Symphoniker is brilliant but rather traditional, so I rather think there could have been a clash in the general approach to performances and interpretation. Just guessing.

    • @MisterPathetique
      @MisterPathetique Před měsícem

@@Failentin Of course I was exaggerating to make my point. This performance is not horrible, but I don't find it particularly good either.
I don't think Orozco-Estrada has a lot of feeling for this music, and it shows right in the opening: the cellos should be leading, but here they're kinda drowned out. The third movement didn't impress me either, the melody tends to disappear because of Orozco-Estrada's random dynamic adjustments and tapered phrasing.
But the worst thing to me is the general lack of energy and accent, and the flabby rhythm throughout the piece. And to be honest Orozco-Estrada is not helped by the overly compressed sonics either. I mean just compare the development section of the first movement or the very conclusion of the symphony with Honeck's performance, you'll understand what I'm talking about.
Besides Honeck, I suggest you listen to Davis/Concertgebouw, Dohnányi/Cleveland, Neumann/Czech Philharmonic or even Karajan/Vienna Philharmonic. And then come back to Orozco-Estrada, you will immediately hear what's lacking in his performance.
And please never assume that a performance "can't ever be topped". We can ALWAYS do better. Otherwise, why should we even bother playing this music?

The concert performances of the last 3 Dvorak Symphonies led by A O-E and the FRS are, imo, in the same class as those led by George Szell and the Cleveland Orchestra recorded in the late 1950's and Istvan Kertesz and the LSO. Before he left Frankfurt I wish he had led a performance of the Dvorak 6th. Similarly I hope he leads performances of the Brahms Serenade #1 and the Schumann Symphonies during his tenure in Cologne. These concert videos are uniformly of the highest quality with superb ensemble playing and never a sign of the jaded playing which seems to infect so many supposedly top-notch orchestras. I always look forward to A O-Es returns to Frankfurt!

Einfach wunderbar!

Dvorak's melody is full of nostalgia and comfort .
These performers and a prestigious conductor express Dvorak's aesthetics skillfully .
    Dvorak's work has a strong spirit ,
And Dvorak has an indomitable soul to confront his own misery .
    Dvorak is great and effulgent

Thank-you so much to your comments
We know the situations of the UK on the TV
      Hang in there !
Be on the alert for Covid - 19
The season of blooming cherry blossoms has come again in Japan .
This season is marvellous , glorious and beyond your imagination for the cherry blossoms in full bloom everywhere in Japan , (parks , hills , mountains , on the banks of rivers , various gardens , domestic Bonsai
      and etc. )
      However ,
for the second year in a row ,
just like last year , when we felt lonely to prevent Covid - 19
the banquets in famous public parks under the cherry blossoms in full bloom have been perfectly banned ,
The Rite of Spring peculiar to Japan from 1000years ago can no longer be held .
We are very lonely and unfortunate .
This year too , the cherry blossoms are destined to fall lonely in front of us .
The true cherry - blossoms viewing , shortly speaking ,
the true banquet under the cherry blossoms in full bloom is to lay rugs under the cherry blossoms in full bloom and sing and dance with eating various Bento and drinking Japanese sake , beer , Japanese shochu , wine ,etc .
The number of the infected people is gradually decreasing ,
Be on the alert for Covid - 19
      Cheer up !
      Someday please visit Japan
distinguished Four Seasons and Japanese delicious foods wait for you
      Good luck !
