    I really don't care about "Tech"-tubers - but your channel is worth subscribing. Your relaxed and unexited presenting is great and straight to the point with no blablabla :) Thanks a lot for this presentation and you are absolutely right with your mesage - if you are coming from glossy retina displays on macbooks, ipads, iphones etc. the CX/C1/C2/C3 are the logical consequence (not the poor studio display). Typing this in front of a 48" C2 with a Mac Mini M2 Pro. You will need some time to get used to the daytime reflections, but it's absolutely worth it.

    I waited and waited for this TV to become available where I was stationed. Never happened. I wound up getting a LG 48" Oled monitor instead. Doesn't have all the features of the C2 42" but I can get 120hz from my Studio Mac using TB4 out to Display port in. The limited built in hub is also a bonus. Thanks for this review. I would have rather had the 42", the 48 is a bit large but better that than going back to a 32 or 27" 🙂

      what adapter are you using ? A lot of people are saying that there is no adapter that works and you can only go up to 60hz on Mac M1 and M2 (non pro, the pro version has HDMI 2.1 which supports 4k/120hz). How can you use TB4 out to display port in?? this TV only has HDMI, no thunderbolt or usb C.

    How do I get 120hz on my LG C2 from a Mac?? 60hz is bad on the LG C2

  • @deanx0r
    @deanx0r Před rokem +8

    I do not recommend the C2 for any kind of desktop use. There is an auto brightness feature that you cannot disable no matter what, and it is base on the overall brightness of the picture display and its motion:
    -if you max a white window, it will detect a greater overall brightness and will dim the overall image.
    -if you are editing a picture in photoshop and the monitor detect too many static elements such as the UI, it will dim the display and shift pixel around
    -finally, in consistently nag the user by prompting firmware updates, to turn on all kind of different features you dont need, and all those prompt requires you to look for the remote control just get rid of the prompt.
    This monitor is great if you are gaming or consuming media. But it is far too much distracting if you need to focus for work.

    • @jayhong8111
      @jayhong8111 Před rokem +4

      I don't have the monitor, but apparently you can disable auto dimming this way : czcams.com/video/uTz4DxwFcFU/video.html

    • @JohnnyMcPro
      @JohnnyMcPro  Před rokem +2

      You actually can disable it, but you need an LG service remote and the code to do it.

    • @gregsilver_official
      @gregsilver_official Před rokem +1

      You don't even need a service remote (i bought it but never needed it). Just disable power saving in the general settings. No more aggressive kicking in of dimming.

    • @djejpro
      @djejpro Před rokem +1

      it also depends on the final brightness output you're trying to achieve. if you calibrate the display to a maximum of let's say 180 nits, you would never see this dimming under any circumstance. this is because the sustained 100% white window measures 178 nits, so it doesn't have to "back off" of the brightness at any point. the energy savings and service remote tweaks help also.

      @@JohnnyMcPro Thanks for the reply :) I ended up doing a lot of research, and bought the Anker 518 USB-C to HDMI 2.1 adapter + HDMI 2.1 cable. Now the C2 runs at 4K 120Hz, and the text is much, much clearer. The C2 is running in RGB 4:4:4 mode as a result which was the fix. There are reflections for sure, but I think my video made them look worse than they really are. It really depends on what you have behind you.
