05:15 Akarius Prime - Hry
It is worth mentioning that projectile speed mods limit the homing function of the akarius prime. It shrinks the cone that the akarius uses to lock onto and home in on enemies like regulators with reduced range
So basically it shouldnt even be in the build? Because i used it since i thought projectiles are a bit slow?
@@TheNexa01 i use it to avoid the homing function actually, whatever suits you
Maybe, just maybe, DE shouldn't have nuked ammo across the board with the Veilbreaker update. The longer this goes, the more infuriating it gets. Especially after incarnons. I don't get it.
plenty of solutions to ammo issues. but i do agree making ammo like D2 was lazy
oh no, you can only slot *seven* mods of pure damage and you have to use one of them for ammo :( what a shame. Surely this prevents the weapons from clearing SP with ease.
@@DariusDarkest Plenty of solutions, all successfully make the game more annoying
I understand that there are workarounds. I just wish I could use a funny boom weapon without worrying so damn much about ammo, especially when I can just equip something else that has a much better ammo economy.
Incarnon weapons are also hilarious to me. I think it’s very good that we’re making older or weaker weapons more relevant. But a decent chunk of these weapons are AoE, or have room clearing potential. I understand that you need to get headshots to charge a majority of Incarnon weapons. But even if we ignore obvious outliers like the torid or angstrum, I still don’t think it’s that hard to get a headshot in this game. This isn’t me asking for an incarnon nerf btw, far from it.
Also side note, people complain about the Cedo’s ammo but I really don’t see it. Maybe I was looking at outdated complaints, idk.
Edit:
There’s also this really annoying trend in the community where everytime someone suggests a revert, they’re looked down upon for being some sort of “braindead player” or something for using an AoE weapon. I think it’s silly.
Also note, I don’t believe the Acceltra has it as bad as some of the other weapons with this problem…though I will say, it’s weird that this is the signature weapon of a guy who can shoot and reload quickly. You’d think Gauss’ signature weapons would be high ammo fast firing weapons.
If your still having ammo issues I feel bad for you son, but I've got 99 problems but ammo ain't 1.
Hit me.
To this day, I find it baffling game design that DE created Gauss, the Frame with insane fire-rate and reload buffs baked into his kit at nearly 100% uptime, and his signature weapons are two of the least bullet-hose-y guns in the game, where you require active trigger discipline or risk running out of ammo at the worst possible time... with a frame that doesn't want to stop and aim, ever. The fact that this wasn't addressed with the Prime variants is even more head-scratching.
I literally wasted a forma and the exlius slot, as well as endo, on primed ammo mutation just for the acceltra LOL
its perfect, its an aoe weapon, if you dont have discipline on it you dont get the full potential. If you can manage the fire rate he provide and the ammo, he is a hose of explosion
Subsume Energized Munitions onto him. I literally hold down the trigger and spam these weapons everywhere, it's really fun.
It's fine. The time you spend shooting is time you spend not running, so I find it fair that Gauss' signatures are best fired in bursts with high DPS but low sustained. If you want to run the full getup of course you'll want a melee, but in general focus on weakening the enemy with thermal sunder first or group them all up to kill them all in one swoop.
It's still a bit disappointing the ammo reserves haven't been at least increased a little, I just dont find it worth despairing over. The Astilla is still great when it does have ammo, perhaps DE was a little afraid of making it too good (unfounded, but whatever).
I think specifically in the case of playing Gauss, you can justify using Primary Frostbite on the Acceltra while putting base damage mods on it in place of Merciless. He can easily stack and maintain full charge of Frostbite so that the Acceltra doesn't need to kill anything to be fully wound up.
Alternatively just run Serration over Primed Firestorm. This test really just came down to Merciless vs Flare and that initial bump in damage would help a lot.
Or you can also run dexterity for easier up time , fuck even desdhesd although not advised isn’t the worst to proc
Akarius Prime is great, but it not only has to compete with incarnon secondaries, but also Sporelacer (effectively the secondary equivalent of Kuva Bramma). Not to mention if we ever get that Kulstar incarnon that was originally planned for rotation 2...
Do you have any other info on round 2 incarnon weapons? Im interested
@@kabe6927 yeah that info was before incarnons were a thing but we got atomos instead of kulstar
sporelacer maxes out at what 6.7 range bramma 11.95 akarius 11.23 and kulstar would need a severe buff for ranged on the primed normal sits at 5.6
@@PainX187 kulstar won't get a prime tho
@@noahedenborg4221 yeah incarnon i meant to say what ever still doubt it gets range hell it might become a shotgun for all we know incarnon is kinda hit or miss Soma Prime being a great example of that
Notably with vigilante supplies, If you have 3 of vigilante mods on a sentinel weapon it's %20 to enhance even if you aren't using a sentinal. You'll just need the weapon equipped on the sentinal.
Did not know about Hammer Shot until this video. It really made my Acceltra prime worth it. Thank you so much for this video!
For the Akarius, I personally enjoy having Arcane Pistoleer for the ammo efficiency on headshot kill as the weapon consistently headshots as long as you aim slightly above your target’s head. Not everyone is willing to use their arcane slot for this, but it is a way to go if you don’t have the resources to open an exilus slot on the Akarius or don’t want to invest into using the Carrier
Akarius is really good in steel path circuit with just the regular mod options it gives you. Will be fun to try this build in there
I use Amalgam Serration on the Acceltra Prime over Primed Firestorm, as alot of the damage of it is Direct Hit with the explosion being a bonus of sorts. Works fine for me in shredding absolutely everything even in Grineer Survival with scuffed ammo stripping. As for the Akarius, if you use Carrier, Mutation or some other way to keep ammo up, espescially if you abuse Heat Inherit mechanics, they're up there with some of the best incarnons imo.
A lot of my use for the Akarius before was as a weapon to do the get kills on K-drive Nightwave challenge. It's good to see them get the glow up. I'm not sure I'm gonna go so deep I can even fit the ammo mutation but I might consider running them with carrier on occasion.
I'm so dang sad they didn't give them ammo upgrades.
If you use Heavy Cal instead of serrations you get a bigger spread and won't need firestorm. You could use that slow for more damage instead of firestorm
Is it better to use the full damage mods instead of the 60/60s? It’s a difference in like 20% status chance for a lot more damage
Thoughts on the new mod "shivering contagion", I'm currently using corrosive, cold, with primary frost bit on the torrid
for me its useless cus it only spreads cold status effect
The Acceltra Prime has a forces impact proc on direct hits, so I was curious how effective putting both HM and internal bleeding on it would be.
You can only proc 1 slash from a single damage instance with those mods. Forced impact proc only happens with direct projectile contact, while HM can proc on both direct impact and the explosion. Taking into account the firerate (only 35% impact to slash procs), and slashes from one mod overriding the other, I would say using Internal Bleeding is a waste of a mod slot if you're already running HM.
My problem with the Acceltra is that while it is a decent gun, I'm just so accustomed to incarnon latron/torid/burston just completely annihilating any poor steel path enemy in a microsecond. Acceltra is like a weapon you bring to a low level mission to feel a power fantasy before eventually swapping back to an incarnon weapon because the acceltra just can't perform super well in higher level content. I could forgive all of that, but one thing I absolutely cannot forgive is the absolute dogwater ammo reserves it has. If you don't use energized munitions while running this thing, especially if you're running any frame that increases fire rate, you're in for a bad time.
Bro spoke facts…
i run carrier and replace vigilante supplies with extended mag capacity instead ngl
@@yeaiamtrill Yea same. But there have been so many occasions where I'm shooting at some higher armored enemy in steel path and my ammo runs out instantly lmao
@darkstarstranger3302 I honestly don't really see the big deal with ammo reserve issue. Even as a Gauss main, I tend to fluctuate between using my primary and melee naturally. If I run out of ammo, I can just melee for a few seconds and be good again once I pick up some ammo. I never quite felt it was that bad.
@@darkstarstranger3302 imma be real chief the gun just sucks against armored targets😭😭 i hate to say it because it’s fun but like it just doesn’t do enough damage
I’ve found that while the acceltta falls off harder than most guns past level 200 on steel path, for levels where every gun can perform well like 120 non steel path and below, it performs exceptionally well. The fire rate combined with the blast radius allows for brain dead spraying with killing comparable to an incarnon and doesn’t have many ammo issues. It also benefits more from gunzerkers like gauss than most incarnons
I kinda disagree, but I am biased cause I have a really good riven with crit chance, crit damage and multishot but if you plan to bring this into endgame and like this weapon, you probably might put on a riven. What I like doing is putting just cold on the weapon, run nourish as always, I have viral and cold, armor strip them, and it does really well. If I am running with Saryn, I run corrosive + cold, nourish, can 100% armor strip with her spores, run Primary Blight, and it destroys up to level 400 since everything is fully armor stripped due to the emerald shards. Of course this is a lot of investment but if you do stuff like this, it is very good.
I also have a riven and run nourish and it scales nicely into the 400's, rivens are such a dogshit system that I will never include riven performance in my opinon as well as the gun kind of relies on getting viral from sources other than itself and that is not good for the just pretty good performance@@nickalso813
@@nickalso813any gun is good with a set up like that
@@meez5824 yeah, can be said for a lot of weapons, but if you are an “endgame” type of player and plan to bring it higher, you are most likely putting so much investment to do something like I am doing. You can bring this just as high with frames other than Saryn, it all just depends on how much investment you want to put into this weapon. Some guns aren’t as great and probably won’t work as well even with the same setup, just different factors in general. However, I do understand what I am describing is definitely not for the average player who doesn’t have nearly everything in the game like I do. I managed to bring Acceltra Prime to 400 and perform pretty well with Vauban, Rhino, Gauss. Just use what the game gives you and it can go very well. The gun just on its own can’t go as high, but with a lot of buffs it can do really good work whereas not _any_ weapon can do that.
@@nickalso813 I don’t disagree, you’re point is good. It’s just that with that much investment it’s irrelevant that you’re using an Acceltra, I have a xata double green shard spore saryn and it will make any gun kill mid level steel path enemies like level 400. Armour strip is the core thing to making any gun work into the thousands. So all I’m trying to say is that what you said is just going without saying :)
Something to note: In the test against the corrupted heavy gunners, Brozime is shooting at the enemies feet. The damage distribution between the projectile and AoE on Acceltra Prime is split almost 50/50, so this skews the results with inaccurate dps as it wants to be fired directly at enemies to maximize its damage output.
Thankfully, this isn't an issue on Akarius Prime which deals the majority of its damage through the AoE. To be fair, even if that wasn't the case, Akarius has homing anyway to help land direct hits.
It doesnt really skew the results though. I've only used the normal acceltra, but shooting feet is exactly what you wanna do regardless of damage split, since otherwise a lot of your shot will just miss entirely when firing from a significant distance, thus lowering the dps anyway. So it can be a bit better against a single target, but not in overall gameplay.
Your acceltra is doing viral damage, while the akarius is using corrosive damage/heat. So it gets a 75% damage buff against gunner's armor.
Viral is buffing the primary damage of the acceltra which are the slash procs. You can give it corrosive but it will only perform worse at this same test.
I understand. Try the akarius against bombards and it will look drastically different.
@@NSSharp1 it doesn’t though. You can just not have this build or the ability to test it and that’s ok. It’s ok to be wrong here and just move on.
My akarius prime should be done building tonight.
@@Brozime So try these builds, they don't have the AoE of your builds but are better scaling for SP- Acceltra Primed Cryo Rounds, Malignant Force, Termite Rounds, Hunter Muntions, Galvanized Chamber, Hammer Shot, Vital Sense, Critical Delay, Vigilante Supplies with Primary Merciless; For Akarius Prime, use your build but swap primed fulmination for galvanized Shot. You'll see that they are much more comparable across enemy types.
I use a sentinel weapon as a stat stick to bring the vigilante mod crit chance to %20 but the prime ammo mutation would be better overall i think.
I have been leveling it in netracells and the like and it does fine
Akarius seems really good for arbitrations, the large aoe and manageable ammo probably makes taking the arbitration drones hiding in the middle of clusters of enemies a lot easier to take out
I have an akarius riven, might do something about that akarius prime
Edit: Sorry, that wasn't really meant to be a reply 😂
But yes, akarius good
So i tried it and it did good in cells bounties. It is a fun weapon and im ok with not being a (all content destroyer) but its just all around a fun weapon to use. I am running vigilante supplies while running the weapon on vault and not really having ammo issues. I will say this weapon for endurance will deff need armor strip but other than….its a good fun weapon🤷🏾♂️
These are two weapons that NEED an incannon not for damage but ammo economy as man you can chew through ammo quick.
So glad i invested 6 forma into my Akarius Prime. Armed to the teeth, literally.
Also whats the name of that electric step-ish ephemera?
It’s called shocking step, and it drops from the exploiter orb boss with a 5% drop chance

So i've been looking to use the acceltra prime build as well, but apparently, I don't have rime rounds or hammer shot. What other mods could I use as a substitute in the meantime until I can get those 2 mods?!
primed cryo round or cryo round are good to go (depend on your build)
@@athari7355Awesome, Thank you for the suggestion
This showcases why I think the primary mods seem so much weaker to secondary's.
Mods? The mods have very little to do with this. The acceltra just doesn't do a ton of damage against lvl 200+SP enemies. You could slap all the secondary mods on the acceltra prime, it still wouldn't do too well (it would do much worse, because it'd have no hunter munitions)
@@Mastrmyrtr9 I mean in general but what ever.
@@orphen241 not sure how "this showcase shows" can be taken to mean "in general" when the showcase is of two completely different weapons, but sure
@@Mastrmyrtr9 Like when everyone used catchmoon. Back then secondary’s were busted and still are. Is why I wrote that the secondary is out performing the primary. Are there really good primaries sure I personally feel that secondary’s get more love. Not sure why you want to fight about this.
@@orphen241 having a secondary beat a primary doesn't somehow mean that primaries as a whole are worse than secondaries as a whole. The torid exists, the latron exists, etc. there's plenty of fantastic primaries and plenty of fantastic secondaries. I don't see the point you're making at all.
Zime time! My 3rd favorite weapon has a prime!
For higher SP runs, switch Rime Rounds with Prime Cryo
Why would you do that? Only slash matters at that point, and more viral from additional status chance makes it better.
@@niculescuandrei-valentin7367slash procs from hm take the damage of the hits, meaning the extra elemental damage from primed cryo rounds would make for bigger slash procs. can’t say if it would be better dps

@@GeneralTheGuy well it does
It says DIRECT DMG
@@noahedenborg4221 which sometimes does apply to other forms of AOE weapons I've been finding. I think direct damage is in regards of secondary damage like chaining effects. Either way that there are AOE effects affected by shot it still isn't a "just read it" situation.
@@GeneralTheGuy well for me aoe means it has an explosion its not like a chaining or big bullet
hey 2nd commenting but i think normal firestorm is just fine -- primed gives you 7.2 total explosion radius, normal gives you 6.2, and this is vs base 5. it still seems totally fine, if you want to run that!
We need to spam the next upcoming dev update with "makeAmmogreatagain"
Fulmin next?
Have you tried primary blight
Only triggers when dealing Toxin damage and that's immediately a big NOPE!, and unlike Frostbite (which I think is the one you're thinking of) it can't be triggered by abilities/sentinels/whatever doing toxin damage.
But yeah, I'm definetly going for Corossive/Cold build with Frostbite to get this thing up and running faster. Been using the regular Acceltra with Nourish Garuda, so I can still have Viral slash alongside the far better upfront damage, and that works great. The useable status on the prime is gonna be big for performance ^_^
The acceltra will forever be an unpopular gun simply because what DE did to the ammo economy. This gun already had bad ammo economy before the ammo economy was nerfed into the grave, now you go into circuit or something and the acceltra runs out of ammo almost instantly. Sure it does good damage but that doesn't matter when you have no bullets to shoot.
Its particularly insulting that DE nerfed normal AOE weapons to unusable status, then proceeded to add incarnon weapons with effectively infinite ammo and more AOE damage than weapons like the bramma, zarr, or acceltra. DE isn't going to un-nerf the old AOE weapons either because that means they would have to admit to making a mistake

Its weird to me that you need to preface that they dont outperform incarnons and the best weapons in the game. Is that what people expect nowadays, that each prime access weapon that can be picked up from a few relics is instantly the strongest thing ever?

DE is great at Nerfing something strong at the same time they add something now that’s stronger than the previous thing ever was.
While they're fun, they can't compare to the MIGHTY SEER
It's better for the overall health of the game that Prime weapons are no longer the end-all be-all, since they get vaulted over time, but I hope it doesn't hit DE's bottom line too hard.
hey brozime i think your acceltra needs to be ranked up? looks like we are comparing lvl 30 akarius to lvl 0 acceltra (granted, with one more forma -- was that the point? same mod capacity?)
Once you have all the mods in there, actual level of the weapon does absolutely nothing. Damage, crit, status, etc are the same no matter the weapon level. This is not the kind of RPG where you have to level your weapon for it to do good damage.
@@Zelsius00 lol thx i never noticed that. game is so farm-heavy i just assumed there'd be more grind there, i guess. thanks again
No stats from leveling and because I’m beyond MR30 I have all the mod points
The Acceltra is cool, unfortunately it doesnt pass the Anything It Can Do, Torid Does Better test. Torid incarnon is an S-rank weapon in the sense that it oppresses every other primary out of the game for 90% of use cases. I genuinely would not mind if it got nerfed, because literally every other primary weapon in the game has been powercrept out of existence by it and thats really not healthy for the game.
I was calling it that Acceltra Prime would be a bust. I hope DE reconsiders some or all of the AOE nerfs/changes. They haven't done much for the game in the long-run, and only turned AOE weapons into a niche and unfun style of play. Build diversity stinks because almost every AOE weapon needs Viral and HM just to scale up and be on par with other weapons. This is unacceptable.
Nah , got another way , viral hm is not the only one and also not the last one.
@@futur3funkWF Yea with the emerald shards you can do corrosive and heat again and prime with viral on a companion.
Honestly is not that deep tho. You just bring a roar and then make ACCELTRA prime more base DMG , it can do massive slash without needing viral procs. Which is a simple thing but a lot of people choose to not believe over that, shard setup is too expensive, just use roar buff and you good to go.
