I'm proud to say my paternal grandfather was a greaser and got me immersed in the lifestyle and culture from an early age.
I still have his leather jacket, aviators and his lighter(even though I don't smoke, I still carry it to keep him close to my heart) I wear the jacket and aviators whenever I leave the house in the spring!
Kryptic Art: Love your vids, brother. On a funny note ... You're always referring back to your high school days as "a long time ago"; but last I heard, you quoted your age at 28. As a 46 year old Greaser with a wife and two kids, I can tell you, it wasn't that long ago. When you get to my age, you'll know what I mean.

The practice first started among firefighters, (particularly when using beaters to put out a grass fire) because even radiant heat can cause enough swelling of your neck to close the windpipe and kill you.
You will often see fire performers wearing a heavy leather neck band. Most people just see it as a fashion thing, but it performs the same function.

Did you also like the heavy unbranded greaser jeans. They were rough enough to light his zippo and unlike modern jeans they are thick enough to stub cigarettes out without burning through the denim.
Fantastic jackets man ! And may I say outstandingly beautiful artwork done on some of them. I can recommend you to include a harrington jacket to your collection. Like the one James Dean wore in Rebel without a cause. Look for ☝on ebay if your interrested. " Knightsbridge " is a good brand, and comes in many variations. From the classic Dean red, two tone cream & black till even in camo.
Thank you I always keep a paint brush handy. I have seen the Harrington jacket which is a take off on Deans jacket. The James dean jacket was a custom job made by the wardrobe department for the studio, which James dean actually kept for him self lol

Another good place to go for leather jackets are swap meets (if you guys have those around) got myself a nice leather jacket for $20 at one and it was a pretty lucky find because it was just a little bit bigger than my size

I bought a really cool bomber jacket at a used goods store for 7 dollars and it’s actually very nice and warm. It gets cold here in Norway so it’s good with some warm jackets. Are the leather jackets warm too because I’m thinking of buying one but I’m not sure.

I just stumbled upon your channel I'm from San Antonio TX man and I'm a marine vet a mechanic and welder and a auto body tech I grew up listening to oldies and always had hot rods and was working on cars loved the 50s needless to say I'm from a Mexican neighbor hood grew up in the poor side of so la Bambi and bold in bold out was my shit I consider my self a greaser but remember their r different styles of greasers the Latin culture is different do I agree or disagree I'll definitely subscribe it's interesting

Any examples of a greaser winger jacket? It gets COLD here in the northeast and the traditional leather motorcycle jacket just isn't enough. I'm assuming it'd be some sort of military jacket, since most of the original greasers were WWII vets

What do you use to paint them that stays so well and so long?
i just started greasing and i wear a basic dark wash denim jacket, no rips, no patches. but i currently live in England and its fooking cold out, and i ruin my look by throwing a puffer vest over my jacket. but at least am not walking around shivering.
get a lined leather jacket. If your lucky you might even find one at a charity shop

Just do what you do and stay out of trouble lol. She's probably worried you'll be a trouble maker or something im assuming. When you go out, put your jacket over her xD

I have a question Madman. I'm a girl. But I find no liking in the "female greaser" look. I usually were (when I'm able to) more of a dark denim vest with light tighter fitting blue genes. I don't have hair grease quite yet so I use lotion. It works but I'm going for grease soon. Dew to uniforms at my school I can't were genes until I'm on dress down. I tuck in a black shirt and go on.

p.s Have you ever seen the Swedish military motorbike jacket of the period? Would have killed for one of those.

Greaser are known to drive both, typically pre 1965 cars and trucks. When it comes to motorcycles mostly old BSA, Triumph, Harley, and Indian motorcycles.

For jacket painting its a combo of brush and paint and a white paint marker.
