    I did snow dyeing with drops of food color on Knitpicks stroll I love the socks I knit with it.
    My favorite from your video is the pinks and grey roving.

      That's interesting. Maybe I'll have to try. Do you think it does something similar where the dye rolls down? Or does it go right through? I'll have to add it to my list of techniques to try.

    I think my favorite is the link colors and the Aztec Gold. Not sure what it is about that color it is one of my favorites to dye with. I've never used it with links but I will now! Thanks Trish for another great video! Susan

      I don't think i've dyed anything without Aztec Gold since I got it. It just seems to make every other color a little bit better. It's really weird. I've been pricing the bigger containers, because I use it so, so much!

    My favorite is the poinsettia, sand dune and amethyst roving but they are all beautiful! I love that you show each and every step of your process for those of us who don't know any better :)

    Those all came out beautifully! I knew I’d love the blue and green top because I always do. The pink yarn though really is vibrant and perfect for summer. It’s interesting that you don’t need to heat set the fiber.

      I did let it sit until it was "sun hot". I figured it's probably pretty close to solar dyeing if I leave it long enough.

    That was so much fun, all the fun without the cleanup. They are all beautiful, The braid with the avocado green and blue dyes is my favourite, it is really pretty but really, all 4 are lovely. I thought that heat was necessary to exhaust acid dyes, this really surprised me. Your husband is so sweet to do all the things he does to support your fiber obsession and I think you were upstaged by Luther at the intro of this video, my eyes tried to look at you but kept peeking at him on the sofa. BTW I think I watch too many of your videos because I now catch myself humming the catchy little tune you always play😁. Thank you for such a fun experiment❤️

      Certain dyes exhaust at different temperatures, so I did leave them out in the sun for quite awhile to get them warmed up.

    I have an antique spinning wheel that I picked up in my early 20’s, would love to learn how to spin on it, watching you spin looks very easy.

      I taught myself on an antique. It was a bit trickier than modern wheels, but it's totally possible! Yours may not even be trickier, because there are a lot of wheels out there that are antique and still work just wonderfully!

    I think they’re all very professional-looking, Trish! I like them all, but I must admit that the “silver rose” fiber calls to me...! I’ll be curious to see how it spins up.     Hi Trish! What fun that was! I wondered about the clear water? Why was that important? I know nothing about dying so this is extremely interesting to me! All of them are beautiful, but for some reason the pink yarn calls to me (and I’m not a big pink fan!) but it’s just so pretty! And I really like the blue, etc.. roving, I cant wait to see how it looks spun up. I also was wondering what happened to the video of your live You Tube? I missed it and was looking forward to watching. Can’t wait to see what’s next!

      The clear water tells me that all the dye is bonded and the yarn won't bleed (much if at all). Not everyone cares about that, but I absolutely hate yarn that bleeds. There was some sort of error in that video and it was deleted. I'm not exactly sure what happened, to be honest. Especially because there was still a thumbnail available, but no video.

      This is a great question! In a few weeks, I'll be demonstrating one for plant fibers that I think is perfect for beginners. BUT, I think I better do a full vid on a beginner technique for wool too. Thanks for the idea!

    Your dyeing is beautiful. I love how they all turned out. So, you ice dyed the wool fiber? So just the heat of the sun with the ice made the colors take and the water was clear?

      Yes, v with the exception of the brown. I didn't know at the time, but it won't strike. I had to toss it.

    Interesting, I have only ice dyed on top of a grill, so the liquid melts thru the fiber and it never sits in the meltwater. It gives a different effect, I’ll have to try it

    Ooohhh they all turned out lovely, but my fav is the sunset yarn, very closely followed by the pink combed top....the pink bamboo is to die for! 😍😍😍
    Approx. how much dye did you sprinkle on each time and how long did it take for the ice to melt? Is there a certain amount of ice you have to use?

      I can't really say for sure how much I used, but my goal was a quarter teaspoon or less. I figured it would be so easy using powder to put in too much and have everything bleeding dye forever. It probably took between two and three hours to melt completely but I left it quite a while longer to let it heat in the sun.

      I believe I used vinegar, but I use citric acid sometimes too.

    Question: At what point did u put your acid in with the dye? Or did u soak your fibers in acid before dyeing?

      I think in the very beginning I said I presoaked in vinegar water overnight. I think I will put that in the description box just to make sure. But I do think if you were concerned, you could always drop a T or two of it in once everything is melted too. I was shocked how much I liked that fiber. Then a friend came over and saw everything I dyed and said, "Oh my gosh! What is this?" Hahahaha.

      This is so, so there's no need. When you prep wool for acid dyes, you just soak in water with a little vinegar or citric acid.

    What about setting the dye with heat? Don't you need heat to set the acid dyes to the fabric?
