    have 3 of these now, haven't shot 1 shot yet. purchased 1st about month and half ago and stock broke off and receiver fell apart while oiling, contacted crosman, they sent a replacement, this replacement couldn't be cocked, crosman sent another, while trying to cock it the stock broke off and wouldn't cock either, ive tried 3 contact attempts by email and phone and no response from crosman. very disappointed in crosman quality, have owned crosman in past and never had issues like this.

    About 8-9 years ago I bought a new Remington Airmaster 77. That gun was dropped by Crosman for a few years, but is now back. It's got the same guts as the 2100, but has a silver barrel and looks different. It's always been a good, reliable shooter for me, and has a metal receiver like the 2100. I am hoping that this Legacy model doesn't mean they are going to drop the metal receiver models 2100 and Remington Airmaster.
    Thanks for the review, as always Kenny!

    I bought one of these a week ago to begin teaching my son the basics of shooting. This is a great gun, very accurate and powerful for what it is and what it costs, I picked it up for $45 at Walmart.
    Now for the bad news.....
    This gun has a serious flaw, the cheep plastic receiver. It is not strong enough to handle the torsion of pumping the gun. Mine broke after about 60 shots. Upon opening up the receiver I found that the plastic lugs which are molded in to the plastic receiver which hold the chamber tube had broken along with the butt stock lugs rendering the gun useless. Instead of returning it I decided to drill holes through both sides of the receiver and put bolts. My gun looks like crap, but it's holding together so far and working great. If it breaks any further I'm going to hunt down a steel 2100 receiver and replace it all together.

    • @franknikita1835
      @franknikita1835 Před 7 lety +1

      intel 0116 the plastic Crosman uses for this gun is ABS, which means broken pieces can be 'welded' back together using ABS plumbing pipe primer and glue, or if you can work quickly, acetone can be used to temporarily soften up both pieces and allow them to be rejoined. I am on my second Legacy, I made the mistake of disassembling my first one and two of the standoffs snapped off when i tried to reassemble. the acetone trick worked well, but for some reason it just never shot right again. splashed out on a second one and not taking it apart until something actually breaks from use.
      it has plenty of power and is accurate, so I am learning from the mistake of trying to mod this one. If something breaks on my new one, I will splash out on a metal 2100 receiver for sure.

    • @senatorjosephmccarthy2720
      @senatorjosephmccarthy2720 Před 6 lety

      Frank Nikita + No glueing is welding. But the pieces could be plastic welded together. West System G-Flex 650 epoxy will glue stronger than prob. any other, in adhesion, tension, and shear. I've built an entire sailboat using it.

      @nativeofjasumerosas6948 Před 6 lety +1

      Hi gone through two of these already same issue , plastic receiver broke after 2 weeks , please gluing plastic welding this shouldn't be something that customers should be doing , I've the daisy 880 for three years now and hasn't given me any problems plastic not with standing the 880 is by far a better rifle if you want the crosman get the 2100 b has a metal receiver and will last .

    I just bought one today and it was less than $50. I put a pellet in it and pumped it 10x. The pellet went through both sides of a STEEL soup can filled with water!! Blew a hole in the back 5x the size of the pellet. I didn't have a problem with the pellets loading on mine, luckily. Also, I thought it was VERY ACCURATE right out of the box. I'll zero the scope tomorrow and perhaps do a live shooting vid. Pretty impressed for the money!! THANK YOU!!

  • @chrislang5659
    @chrislang5659 Před rokem +1

    I just bought this rifle! Still the same price as when you bought it! I liked it enough to put a real scope on it. So far ive only shot it out to 70 yards so far. Imade a target from joint compound, about the consistency of clay that is about 10 inches tall and 8 inches thick. Going to have to move the target back further to 80 yards because at 70 im getting full penatration using Crossman Copper Magnum pellets! The scope is a Barska 3-9×32 illuminated mil dot reticle, cost more than the rifle 😂 however 10× better than the stock scope which should be no surprise to you. Great review on a fun pellet rifle! Ive made multiple videos testing accuracy and penatration vs my other 880's you may be interested in. One is cosmetic only and the other more than cosmetic. I would like your opinion on my modifications!

    Looks like a great starter for the price, and still very capable, especially in your hands. Im sure varmints make a wide berth around your property. Im still loving my Benjamin Trail NP2, but I accidenly put a tiny tiny drop of gun oil in it... and with a sudden second thought went and read I made a mistake. Been letting it sit barrel down for a while now, hoping I didnt mess it up.
    Bonus on the can cooler ingenuity! Love your work! Thank you!

    I bought one from Walmart and put the Center Point 4x32 scope on it. One rabbit (headshot at 88 feet) and two squirrel (also headshots just inside 25 yards). Nice little rifle, very inexpensive.
    Looking forward to small game season, after spending the summer getting used to the stiff trigger and adding a better scope, preferably something with mildots.

    Ken I went with the Legacy after watching your review, I was considering a 22 cal Benjamin Prowler but with the backyard shot I'll be taking is less than 30ft I think the legacy will do the job on rabbits and squirrels with well placed head shots There days of raiding my backyard garden are over! The other thing is you mentioned the trigger on the Legacy is much better out of the box than the 2 stage triggers on the Nitro's, and the cost 47.31 tax inc. vs. 129 + tax. Thanks again for the Legacy review Kenny

    • @Sportdog1000
      @Sportdog1000 Před 6 lety +1

      Ken I got the legacy home and after taking the 3rd shot the gun failed to shoot after resetting the bolt multiple times it finally discharged, I took it back to Walmart. Went back to the sporting goods dept. and after looking I saw tucked in the back locked case a F4 I asked the clerk how much is this one? 79.00 he said, I said I'll take it!! After I got home I set it up with a 4 X 32 Bushnell... This gun is awesome, after sighting it in 5 shot groups at 25ft inside a quarter!! I can't believe Walmart here in Green Bay still had a F4 for 79.00, while in the top cabinet it was 109.00 I admit I was a bit worried about the 2 stage trigger But I'll watch your video on how to adjust it so it has a lighter pull...

    Got one today at Walmart for $45. Great power, but not accurate at 10 yards with a fixed 6X scope with 30mm tube. The pumping tube flexes into the barrel shroud starting about the 3rd pump. Will continue looking for an accurate pellet. Hoping to bring it down to 1/2" at 10 yards. With JSB RS and JSB Ultra Shock getting a fraction below and above 10.5 fpe at 12 pumps. 8.0 (RS) and 8.5 (US) fpe at 6 pumps.

      8 different pellets tried. 2nd best 10 yard 5 shot group at 1/2" - Predator GTO. Best so far 10 yard 5 shot group at 7/16" or slightly under -- H&N Field Target Trophy Green. The other 6 were heavier H&N, JSB, Air Arms and Crosman lead pellets.

    Hey Kenny,
    Good review.
    The Legacy 1000 was the replacement for my Daisy 880, which was never quite right, and broke when out of warranty. No more Daisys for me.
    The bolt handle on my Legacy flexes inward at the rear of the pull. Pyramydair said they have not heard of any issue like that, but to contact them if it becomes a problem. Did your bolt exhibit such a flex?
    I must say that your hospitality is somewhat lacking, yet thanks for inviting us into your home. But would it have killed you to pop some popcorn for us to enjoy while we listened to your review? Just sayin'.

    not sure if you still have your rifle but I just posted a video On Accuracy Test of mine. Accuracy of Crosman Legacy...done with 8 different pellets from 20 yards (Only 10 pumps for testing)...man, those pellets (price) adds up but it was fun. Winner: JSB Exact Dome 8.44 gr.....for my rifle with scope....I did get the Bugbuster scope...it just doesn't sit back far enough for me (for most I'm guessing) but is doable. fun test.

    The current pumpers just aren't nearly as good in any way as the older Sheridan's or Crosman's

    Guys dont buy this. I have it and the plastic on the receiver is crap. I pulled the thingy on the side back to load it and you could damn near see the whole inside of the gun from the top. Shoots great. Had to replace with a daisy 1101ws. Cheaper gun WAYYYYYY better quality
