      Just to get an insight on the emotional side of Jerry NEARLY brought me to tears. The way he talked about the importance of family and how he appreciates in retrospect having made the decision of being a family man and how it paying dividends today at his old age.... You can't help but to love the guy even more.
      Love or hate Jerry (and I knew this from way back) the NFL in general owes Jerry a huge deal. The man changed the model for the league on how to make money. Players getting paid for endorsement deals was also thank in great part to him. He made himself rich and in the process made pretty much everyone around him rich as well. That is rare in the cutthroat world of business today.

    I bet I've watched Jerry's "Football Life" documentary a couple dozen times, and still learned new things about his story. I love seeing the emotion when he talks about his Dad, or what it meant for him to finally take the chance when he could try to buy the Cowboys. I think he's tough as hell, with a heart of gold, and hope he gets at least one more Superbowl trophy & ring.

    I was born in 1991 and I’ve lived in the Dallas Fort Worth area my whole life. I was too young to know the success of the cowboys in the early 90s. I’ve never quite understood why Jerry gets so much hate from both cowboy fans and non cowboy fans. I’ve always loved this guy even through the rough years, and I’m proud that he’s the owner of my favorite football franchise.

    • @woodsidetj
      @woodsidetj Před 6 měsíci +11

      A bit of perspective: Jerry was absolutely hated when he first bought the team. An Arkansas guy buying THE team of Texas, firing Tom Landry, bringing in this thug from Miami to coach Tom Landry’s team, and trading away the only player we had that was worth a shit in Herschel Walker. We, as Cowboys fans were furious. And then, we went 1-15.
      But, a couple of years later, we make the playoffs. Lose to the Lions, but we made it. This team might have something?
      Win a couple of Super Bowls, we are on top of the world, right? Then, the owner who you hated before forces out the coach that you love. Yeah, we won another one, but that was with the old coaches team.
      You hated that owners before…pretty easy to hate him again after 20+ years of not getting back to the big show.

      Cowboys with Landry and Staubach went to 5 Superbowls in 10 years. Cowboys with Jimmy Johnson and Aikman won 3 Superbowls.. Once Jerry took over as General Manager, instead of just owner = No Superbowls for 30 years. Jones has turned a franchise with a History of Excellence into a Franchise with a History of mediocrity.. and those who were used to the excellence hate Jones's incompetent egomaniacal axx for it.

    I have been in Dallas for over 30 years. No matter how Jerry has made mistakes. He loves the Cowboys. All you really need to know about him is what his daughter Charlotte and himself and his children do in the arena with The Salvation Army. There lies this mans faith and conscience.

    One notable aspect about Jerry Jones is his antiristic, intelligent, and intriguing nature. He serves as a motivator, a loving father, and someone who relishes success in life. In an era where such qualities are rare, he stands out. Jerry Jones doesn't seem shackled by fear concerning what his family thinks; he's a unique individual. As observed in a CZcams broadcast, he emerges as an inspiring and intelligent father, husband, and motivator for others. My perception of Mr. Jerry Jones has shifted, and I genuinely wish him abundant success, recognizing that there's more to him than just financial achievements. His deep connection with his parents, especially the impact of their passing, adds a poignant layer to his character. It's evident that he holds a profound and loving connection with his family.

    Players today should thank him. His marketing additions have led to record contracts across the league.

    Jerry got ahead in life by learning along the way, and his head strong demeanor. When he was right his achievements were tremendous, but on the flipside his wrong decisions were just as bad. Not keeping the best coach of his generation was a huge, long lasting mistake. A champion of the salary cap too and it destroyed his young team. His ego and the remark about 500 coaches could have done the same thing showed his glaring weakness. To his credit he is now going to induct Jimmy Johnson into the Cowboys Ring of Honor.

    I have always enjoyed listening to this while driving but I have to say I'm done with CZcams and all these back to back ads! It is truly ridiculous! DONE!

    I've been a Cowboys fans since before he bought the team, and in all this time, I had no idea he was this funny or this contemplative.

    17 years working for the Dallas Cowboys. Licensing department. The hardest working employees of the Cowboys are the Jones kids. They treat the employees well and pay us well.
