- A look back at my Dead Space Isaac Clarke Cosplay from 2013! Sometimes it is fun to pull out an old project and relive how it was created. With the relase of the Dead Space remake hitting soon I thought it would be cool to take you all through the complex journey of creating my Isaac Clarke Level 3 armor from the hit survival horror series Dead Space. This insane costume took 3 months and over 300 hours to complete, and was a mix of countless crafting mediums. I have created a bunch of costumes throughout my time as a prop maker but even today this is still one of my favorites. So let me show you some of the processes I took to bring Isaac's Dead Space Level 3 armor to life!

I'm looking at the website and can't find the pdf for the costume, only the plasma cutter
Ohhh I'm seeing the vid now and u said it was handmade
Though, did you ever make a reference pdf?
@@constantlyphil no that was 11 years ago well before I was making template PDFs
@@SKSProps ok
I made my own and was just wondering how to improve it or make a better one
(The one I made had a foundation of cardboard and duct tape)
10 years ago and still looking that good??? This is just too amazing ~
Thank you very much!
Holy creeping snap!!! For a (mostly) beginning costume, that breaks all the limits. Can definitely see your drive and the passion for your art in this. Can imagine everyone at that first con were just blown away and probably did a whole lot towards helping others step up their game. My work is no doubt muich better because of your help and I think we all owe you a debt of gratitude. Thanks again, Steve! You rock!!!
Thank you so much!! And I’m always glad I can help out 🙌🙌
When cosplay had heart and love thrown into it and when everyone was enjoying themselves not looking to make money left and right lol
I remember seeing this back them and being blown away. Now i def plan on finally playing through the game fully and cosplay Isaac.
Awesome! Have fun! 🙌
Its has been my dream for so long to build my favourite suits from each of the 3 main games. Your Level 3 was always so inspiring for me man.
Thank you! 🙌
I was so blown away by this when I got to come see your setup. It's always great to hear a cosplayer looking back at a costume they can point to as a turning point in their careers. Fantastic work as always my friend and I am so glad this has turned into what it has for you!
Thank you so much Wes!
Still one of my favorite cosplays ever, I've got the print hanging on my wall
Thank you I really appreciate that! 🙌
Looks amazing!! As someone who has been cosplaying for over 18 years, this is still amazing!!!
Thank you!!
Seeing these videos inspire me to create more things, to continue obtaining more experience and to be able to continue creating the things that I like because I don't think I have the skills that many of you have as a Propmaker but to see the final product of something that I take days... or months is very satisfying for me. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and experiences through your channel, you really don't know how much it is appreciated.
That’s so great to hear! I love the fact my builds can be inspirational for new builders. And also why I’ve created so my build videos and templates that are very simple so people can dip their toes into this hobby
I remember being a new cosplayer and seeing photos of this build online and being blown away at how amazing it was (and still is!) Seeing all the detail and dedication, it really inspired me to get into armor builds myself. I'm currently working on making this set and seeing this video pop up in my feed has fuelled me all the more to keep going! Thank you for all the really helpful videos over the years 😄
Thank you for much for telling me this! I love hearing stories about people I have influenced over the years!🙌
Awesome, i love these behind the scenes videos
Thanks!!
Amazing work !! even for back then, you definitely inspired me alot 🙌🙌
Thank you!
i've beaten dead space 1 over 10 times and the scares don't scare me. I still love the game
I have never played the game, but what an amazing build! Thanks for sharing!
Glad you enjoyed it!
We need a Dead Space haunted house, pronto!
Sks props, love you guys awesome work.
Thank you!! 🙌
It's held up great! The Fett I'm rebuilding is from that era, and boy is it easier now. It is amazing how far the hobby has gone.
It really is crazy, but it is a great hobby!
OMG Thanks for sharing!
you're welcome!
It still looks very cool!
Thanks!!
YES! Awesome! 😎👍
🙌🙌
Beautiful, just beautiful. Thank you for going over your work.
You’re welcome! Glad you enjoyed it 🙌
Still one of my favorite cosplays of yours ❤️
🙌🙌
@@SKSProps I am working on getting my own Isaac cosplay together and this was very helpful ❤️
It was awesome and inspiring. I know the satisfaction of building a costume.I use what I can find to create them It is worth it when finished.
It’s the journey right! Such a mountain to climb but when you get to the top of the summit you can always be proud of your work 🙌
The Reese's peanut butter cup was one of my little tidbits of knowledge from my visit. Perfect example of not reinventing the wheel for a build.
I'm glad you got to see all of the customes up close! makes a difference vs just getting some online pics
@@SKSProps For sure. Sorry I didn't take enough pictures. 🤣
You should do a tutorial on how to make the helmet now with all your new experience
Não canso de dizer!!!
Mestre dos mestres
Thank you!!
I have a picture of this u found as my wallpaper, now I found the creator!
🙌🙌
@SKS Props wow I wasn't expecting that, look thanks for making that awesome costume! Inspired me to start on one for Halloween! Thanks for everything
Awesome as always! Any advice on how to stay cool when wearing all that?
Under armor type shirts that will wick your sweat away definitely help. Biggest thing here is just to stay hydrated. In larger costumes I’ve installed camel packs
I hope we get a tutorial of making a dead space suit cosplay soon
Unfortunately no
I already did that once
Never again
You should do an updated one but the remake
An interesting look back down memory lane 🙂 I wouldn't mind if you did the same with your other "costumes".
I might in the future. Every build is definitely its own story
It's amazing, I hope you upload the templates, greetings from Paraguay
Thanks! Unfortunately there are no templates it was all scratch built
Did you post this on the 405th too? I remember seeing this suit floating around there.
I didn’t but it has gone viral several times throughout the years on various sites
I think about this every time I hear people complain about making costumes today.
Cosplay kids these days don’t know how good they have it 🤣
@@SKSProps Hey its true. That's why love your foam, I don't have to sand the texture off of floor mats anymore.
I'm interested in building a helmet for myself, is there a link somewhere to the dimensions or the template that you used for the helmet? Thanks!
there was no template it was all scratch built and scaled by sight. There is a build blog on my website with pics but I don’t have dimensions. It was well before I made templates
Hello bro it is an excellent job, I would also like to make the cosplay but the pdf files do not work and I was left with the desire :(
I don’t have pdf files for dead space. It was scratch built almost 9 years ago. There is a build thread on my site showing the progress but not templates because it was hand sculpted out of clay and cast
EVA foam Sensei!
🙌🙌
Would you ever consider making Isaac’s suit from the remake?
Maybe one day, but I’ve got a lot of other builds I’d want to tackle before that
Alright that sounds good. Thanks for clarifying.
I don’t know if people have requested it before but could you possibly make jango fetts westar 34 blasters. Also my name is Isaac lol
Make a tutorial how to create this :D
There’s a complete build thread on my site. It’s not like foam most of you couldn’t hand sculpt the helmet and heat mold the plastics.
alright, thx
i have you gif template sir 🙏🏻
make Halo masterchief
Nope 🤣 waaay to many pepakura pieces for a video. If you’re interested in that go follow the 405th online lots of builders on there
@@SKSProps 😅😅😅, thanks ma bro 👍👍👍
