- Rebecca Childress has been sailing around the world since 2007...for 16 years. Finally in this sailing video she finishes her sailing circumnavigation in the Ragged Islands in the Bahamas with crew. She sails on to the USA in her sailboat Brick House, and then makes a big change in her life...but she doesn't give up travel, adventure, or exploring this beautiful planet! She may just always be a nomad! Brick House has been a wonderful bluewater cruising sailboat for this female sailor, and the boat has taken such good care of her... but she is not a dock hen or a weekender..she likes to sail oceans, and does it so comfortably. She needs to be sailing oceans! Brick House is for sale!

Congratulations, Rebecca. I have been following this adventure for a few years now, and Patrick would be proud of you. Thank you for allowing me to join you in spreading some of Patrick's ashes into the sea...I will (hopefully) be starting on my own sailing adventures soon, and really appreciate the many videos you and Patrick have done to help me. Good luck with the future. Btw, I having been living in an RV (toyota coaster) in Australia for nearly ten years, with a dog for company for most of that time, and it's been .one of the best decisions I ever made.

Wish i could buy her but im still 1.5 years away. I was so touched by this episode. Congratulations on completing what you and Patrick set out to do. I know he is proud of you. I met him many years ago at a cruising semenar and was blessed to have a long conversation with him as i was a liveaboard at the time. Unfortunately i had to leave the life i loved so much to take care of 2 family members. Whoever buys Brickhouse is going to be a very lucky person. All the best to you and your new adventures.

Ah thanks so much. Renting it out would always be a gamble… not everyone know how to use a boat head or shower or knows how important it is to close the hatches when you leave for a little while ;) Not to mention the big haul out rehab that inevitable is needed every few years with every sailboat (not to mention the rent for the slip and insurance and bottom cleaning.

I think you know that Patrick would have been so proud of you finishing this journey.
By now, I know you know, life has so many twists and turns in the road, it's a miracle we get to a "older" age.
Had you been in a different place, at a different time, Patrick might very well of been here with you. Why some pershed, while others had zero effects from a virus is less of a mystery now than before, but it still seems so random at time. Pretty much all of us were infected, me, my family, my friends, all of us. There is no real difference between me and a friend of mine, who passed away, same age, same weight, both diabetic, he felt fine for a while, then passed quickly, I only really noticed a loss of smell when I ground coffee and wondered why I could not smell it.
You two had a great journey and you both are well respected as sailboat cruisers. I say write the book, there are plenty of ways to publish these days and at this point, I would not be worried about trying to be on the New York Times best seller list.
As for the R.V., I say come out West, look for places to boondock for free on BLM land, there are a million places where you can camp for free and explore. Campgrounds are too expensive, you might as well stay in a 4 star hotel if you are going to be in a R.V. and campgrounds.
Agree 100% on the RV bit… its westward I go! And yes Covid for me was somewhere in the lower 1/3… but yet Patrick healthier and more fit than me was taken.
Yes I had a great journey and for that I’m so Greatful! Who knows what exactly lies ahead… but we gonna find out!
