- What a unassuming looking padlock.. I love locks like this that have a strange or different method of disassembly. I believe this to be the Medeco 50-500

Thanks for this, I remembered how to dismantle mine (sort of) but then had forgotten how to get back together. All done. much appreciated RL Also one of my favourite padlocks too.
Awesome lock to have in your collection! Glad you found it useful !
Awesome video!!!
Can’t believe you picked it then dissembled it without a key then made a key blind!!!!!
Really tough things to do!!!!
Thank you for sharing this!!!
Stay safe my friend!!!!

Hahaha, thanks buddy! Pretty cool lock!
Fantastic video. What a key and a process you had to go through to get there. Thanks for all the information, cheers
Thanks PW. Glad you enjoyed it !
this is one of the few medeco padlocks I don't have!
Wait, I have something that you dont? LOL Just made a key for it on the proper medeco blank.. hand cut tho.. Great lock!
Nice job buddy. I have several that I have to pick open to rekey. But yep these are definitely harder to pick than the typical medeco. And yep the pins are similar to a bilock. Maybe Medeco stopped using them and went to the 65 series pins for driverless cylinders. Maybe that is. 😆
I think so.. I can only find the cores in a catalogue, havent seen the pins..
Wow -- excellent -- never seen one of those before -- I guess previous design to early Protector 1 you showed -- You think ti's a Medeco 50-500 eh? -- very well done to make key for rotational "Cam Lock" type pins. I think also I would have been at a bit of a loss how to disassemble. Very cool padlock and you are lucky to have it.
Thanks Ken ! Yup, pretty sure it's pre protector, and from what I found it's a 50-500..I just managed to find keys for that core, now if only I could find a Medeco dealer near me so I wouldent have to hand cut them again, lol Thanks for watching Ken ! hope you have a great day!
Yeah you have a way of stealing people's great locks lol
What a beast!
Nice lock Rook!!
LOL.. I dont know about that ;P hahah thx mur!
Lol 😆
Interesting lock design and over engineered indeed. But that's making it a nice piece of history. Well done on the picking and key making 👍 Is that a factory bitting? The key looks very fragile.
Well said! Thats why I love this lock! Yup, thats how it was pinned up anyway. Not sure how factory it was but yeah.. The low cuts are quite low.. lol Thanks for your support my friend!
What locks do you want for this brass Medeco lol , brilliant job in making a key for this lock , fantastic video my friend
Good question, LOL.. A Rotalock ;P hahaha naw jk.. Honestly IDK.. Thanks for your support Peter, glad you enjoyed it !
@@RookieLock there's currently one for $580 ish on eBay at the moment, I won't get that as I own a rotalok myself
Damm! really? Crazy ! Thanks for the info buddy!
Did they remove the drain hole from the newer lock?
The other one I showed in this video? It has no drain hole at the bottom.. it does however have one on the side.. which doubles as a way to punch out a pin that holds the shackle in.. Maybe I'll show that in a future video.. Thanks for your support buddy !
Have one but I think the screw is stripped
Dam, that sux :/ I know the allen size is REALLY small.. like 1/16ths if im not mistaken
Yea I got it thay ar interchangeable with the sollad brass 50 series I had to bang it out and replace the shackle
@@mikebrostlove13 Nice!
