She's absolutely right. In Pakistan, whenever I have steak, it is always thoroughly cooked. That is how our taste is developed and that is how we like it.
The type of beef here can't be eaten medium rare because it is too rubbery and tough. There are different breeds of cattle that are tender enough or are dry aged with more fat marbling that can be eaten medium rare. Some restaurants import that beef but a single steak costs 50k to 100k pkr.
The reason is due to bad farming practices in Pakistan it is dangerous to eat rare meat

@@GoldenGullygully it's bcz in India or Pak people mostly eat meat in gravy or curry and meat should be cooked properly to get along with those dish how ever west don't eat meat with something along with it so they end up having dry meat with taste bad bcz it doesn't have somthing to it to enhances it flavour just dryed meat ,on other hand we have gravy which has meat fat nd flavour thet did not evaporate

I think local pakistani beef isn't suited for medium rare stake. That's why we prefer we'll done steak that's cooked thoroughly.

And we don't eat raw meat.
@@MaryumImran-7 yeah that's because the meat found in pakistan is very chewy if not cooked properly. Our cow breeds are not suited for steak. For example, Japanese cows are bred specifically for steak and their meat is much softer than ours. But they are too expensive to import in pakistan. It's called wagyu beef maybe you've heard of it.
@@zhin8294 yeah I know but even if it's properly cooked medium rare Wagyu. Pakistanis and mostly parents wouldn't eat it and would still consider it as raw because of its pinkish colour. They said it has to be cooked fully and thoroughly.😅
@@MaryumImran-7 yeah we're just not used to it as it's not part of our cuisine. There's a reason why our most popular meat dishes have thoroughly cooked meat such as nihari, beef pulao etc. I guess we have different preferences right? What would you prefer between nihari and steak?

definitely an influence from culture. we filipinos do kebab style barbecues where we poke pieces of pork with a stick and then put them on coals. sometimes they get burnt, and that's the exact flavour we got used to as filipinos
