My parents immigrated to Canada from Pakistan in the 80s. I was born and raised in Toronto where my mother fed me Pakistani dishes each and every day. I always wondered, how good is the cuisine from Pakistan in comparison to what I grew up eating?

The fact it's almost Eid I nearly cried looking at the yak , even though I don't eat yak I think we should cherish more of where our food comes from and that it's not just a packet of meat that came from the grocery store

You know something funny? I lived in Pakistan for 7 years and i really didn’t appreciate it a lot but now that i have come back to Germany (my birthplace) i started to understand why all my relatives told me that I’m gonna miss Pakistan. I was a stupid teen that didn’t understand the value of everything that was given to me. I am gonna go back to Pakistan once i finish my studies and I WILL appreciate everything that I threw away. Thank you Gully for all of this

Pakistan is so diverse if ur in the north the ppl will be totally different, they look different and are very different in general from the south, Pakistan is like a mini version of the world in the extreme north u’ll see ppl who look like East Asian, in the west the ppl will look western with green or blue eyes and blonde hair, in central Pakistan they look Indian- brown skin and big brown eyes, in the extreme south they get darker, u’ll even see ppl in the south and south west who look african…and to the west u’ll see ppl who look Middle Eastern-more persian..The languages also change a lot as you go down Pakistan, we hv every ethnicity in ONE country.🥹🥹🥹

I have to say, I love your videos. Being Greek orthodox my grandmother was an amazing cooker and once had her own Greek restaurant "zavos!" It was fun owning it until someone stole our recipes. @@GoldenGully I advise to ask if any of the food sold is pork, we do love our pork after all. Our beef and chicken is amazing as well though I think. “Tacos Al Pastor” has its roots in Shuarma but it’s often made with pork so i’d stay away from that as a Muslim (otherwise, it’s delicious). It would be awesome if you find Al pastor with chicken or beef.

your travel videos are such a blessing. the food obviously looks delicious but it's the chefs and restaurants you spotlight that is so compelling. it's powerful to give your voice to these people, and it makes me wish i can eat at their restaurants. 🥰
if i may say, during the interview sections, I think it is less jarring to let the guest speak without breaks, because it also cuts the music he was listening to as well. just my opinion but even if it made the video longer, the interview portion is the most illuminating and intriguing part of the video. it has a smoother feel if it has less cuts. ❤️👌💯

Hey I've been at the Yak Grill 2 yrs ago, and I've been to like the entire Northern Pakistan, Hunza, Gilgit, Dir, Buni, Chitral, Phandar, Gupis, and all the areas. Very beautiful. You must Jetskii in Attabad Lake if anyone of u go there. Man your next stop must be Skardu even Beautiful than Hunza

Gully, this place looks absolutely gorgeous. Honestly, I don't know much about the world regarding natural beauty, but if I get the opportunity to travel to other countries, this place will definitely be on my bucket list. Also, I have a question: How is the climate in there? There's many mountains and valleys, and you were using a jacket even though it's very sunny.
Summers are chilly and moderate. Winters are extremely harsh. Almost like a lockdown due to extreme snowfall and very low temperatures.
Best time is to come in summer or spring…. Probably about now

did you notice how people from Hunza or up north generally look so different from the rest of the country?
It's ethnic diversity, you would be surprised how diverse Asia is, even the small countries have a couple of different ethnicities in it. I myself am a mixture of 3 different ethnicities. Haven't done a DNA test but it's based on where my great grandparents are from.
It's normal north Indians look way different from South Indians
Pakistan is one of the most diverse countries in the world. There's all kinds of people here. You will see people with blonde hair and blue eyes as well as dark skinned people with curly hair alongside mongoloid people.

Boating is allowed. Swimming is banned. The water is generally very cold and deep.
