  • Mission accomplished! Got the Safari Turbo running. The tires still hold air, and the gas tank is really clean. The bike was missing a rear shock, I replaced both shocks with a good set from a moby. The headlight works, and the controls to turn it on and off. The kill switch worked, too. I'm not sure why the horn didn't work. I might look into that. It is still missing a tail light, but the wiring for it is there and working. The moped is listed for sale. If I have time, I plan to do some light restoration to it. That would be trying to remove rust and polish the metal as much as possible. Try to brighten up the original paint. And install a tail light. It runs, but I do have it listed as a project bike. The thought was to just get the moped running, and then the new owner would could modify it as they like. Also, by not changing the tubes and tires, the new owner can save some money now and buy those when they get a chance. Most of the time, I run into people who want a running moped is all. They don't want or know how to get it running. Making it look good is easier to take on versus engine work. That's what I tried to accomplish here. A complete (minus the taillight) and running moped. Ready to ride and for someone's touch to make it look better.
Subscribe to see if I get a chance to do a light restoration on it. Currently, Im working on a Puch Magnum for me to take to rallies. I'll do a walk around of it once I'm done. I've been trying to finish it quickly, so I did't record any of it. But I will share the build here and on my blog when I can.

Does it have the under seat storage box, too? It's a cool bike it feels comfortable to ride. I'm not sure about a long ride, I didn't get to take it on a long ride.
