    Got the same issues you're describing, no dash lights, won't come out of park, heater and radio, nor the instrument cluster are also not working. The car turns over and runs, but won't come out of gear. Its a column shift Avalon if that matters. Any ideas?

    • @jdjewellpa
      @jdjewellpa  Před 2 lety

      It's probably the same fuse I described in the video. Once you pop a new one in you should be good to go!

      @@jdjewellpa actually it was not that fuse, it ended up being a 60 amp fuse further up on the fuse box by the strut tower. Weird because it was pointing to your videos 120 fuse based upon symptoms.

    @jameswatson6864 This video helped solve my problem. Wasn’t the 120 fuse(for me) but it lead me straight to my electrical issue. A ground wire wasn’t connected correctly underneath the fuse box. Thank you!

    Hey, how exactly did you pull out the fuse box after unbolting it from the body? I've got the exact same model and same problem caused due reversed jumper cables. I can't seem to find the clips to push in order to pull out the fuse box.

    • @jdjewellpa
      @jdjewellpa  Před 8 lety

      check out the video at 2:40 again. There are tabs on both sides near the bottom of the housing where the fuse sits. what I did was break one side of the holding tabs off and then lift with a pick (the tool I used ) the other side. while at the same time pushing down. Look down and at sides of that fuse you'll see what Im talking about. let me know how you make out.

    Well i have 99 avalon xls and it TURN ON but wont go out of shift.... please tell me its still the 120a fuze

    • @jdjewellpa
      @jdjewellpa  Před 6 lety

      Mine turned on as well, but would not shift out of park. So I believe with your car the fuse is still your culprit. Let me know how you make out.

  • @GTZAV

    I have no loghts, nor will it go out if park without pushing the button in front of gear lever. The 120 fuse doesn't seem to be blown to the eye.
    What do you think that may be....

    • @jdjewellpa
      @jdjewellpa  Před 3 lety

      Do you have dash lights? AC, etc. If not its most likely the 120amp fuse. It's really hard to tell if its blown or not just by sight. It's only a few bucks and some time. Before you crazy pulling everything out start with that first. Let me know how you make out

    • @jdjewellpa

      @@Mas_zeppelin If everything is working like dash lights, fan, turn signals etc you got something else going on. But to get yourself out of park, there is a tab on the gear console right above park. (You'll notice mine is missing in the video because I removed it 4:58). Pop that off and stick a key in it. It's a manual override and will allow you to shift out of park and drive the vehicle. That's how I got the car home to diagnose. Good luck to you, get back and let us know what it was once its repaired.

    • @jdjewellpa
      @jdjewellpa  Před 7 lety

      Don Lotto depending on where you are in this great country of ours Autozone, Advanced Auto pepboys shoukd have it. its like 3 bucks and some change. highly doubt it's the shift solenoid. the 120 is usually the culprit. also check your brake lights to see if they go on. just follow the video and you'll be good to go. Goodluck my man
