Hypocrisy has always been more about following trends, rather than starting them (from standard swedeath to standard melodeath). Their "dude aliens lmao" concept probably makes them more niche than they otherwise would be, too. They've got a pretty reasonable amount of recognition, all things considered.

They are part of the melodeath scene, yes, but in my opinion they put their own sound on it which is quite unique. Definitely not a band that follows trends or sounds like "standard melodeath".

I have had Major depressive Disorder since I was 15, they'd given me a lot of medicine. Ironically, all you need is yourself, not the medicine to recover. I ditch all my medicine when I was 18, it's been hard of course, like a drug addict, being relapsed. But depression is like asthma, you can't really recover from it, but what you can do is, controlling it and just manage it. 23 and still alive, it's hard when you're having a breakdown of course, but then again i taught myself " get over it, someone else had worse than you. relax, enjoy the ride. it's nothing but a moment."
I am 45 yrs old . I start listening metal from the age of 5 ( thanks daddy). As you can imagine i have seen it all. The rebels that turned out attention whores and just going for the money and fame. Now i am shocked with this clip. A tear fell from my tired eyes. This is how metal supposed to be . Aggressive , pissed off and fighting the powers that be. Congratulations guys

Awesome song. The lyrics really hit me with this song . I’m 51 and have been taking nerve medicine and three different antidepressants daily for the past 27 years. The message in this song really is the truth, once you start taking these kind of meds your mind and personality seem to change, but not in a bad way for me personally. It’s a struggle for me to make it through each new day. But it’s this kind of music that keeps me going every day. I’m looking forward to the new album coming out. I’ve been a fan of hypocrisy from the beginning. Thanks for such a great song about an out of control stigma.

This has a different meaning for me. I'm from West Virginia. Ground zero for big pharma dumping Oxycontin into the populace. Meds help us but when companies knowingly push a med that they know is dangerous and extremely addictive...no mercy for them.
Why don't you try natural supplements/herbals? I changed from a lot toxic meds to natural healing herbs and I feel and look better than ever, also am not addicted like I used to be to the meds. Tulsi, Rhodiola Rosea, passion flower, gotu kola, ashwagandha. All of them work against depression and so does legal CBD hemp. Good luck!

Have liked these guys since the mid-late 90s. Found In Flames first with Jester Race/Whoracle then these guys shortly after. Great band! Never a disappointing album and they killed live also...

This song hit f’ckin hard…I have had a bone disease since I was born. They fed me all kinds of pain meds, surgeries, more meds…For years I just wanted to walk right into traffic, leave this place. I found a Doctor who helped me get off 90% of all my meds, but also all of my pain meds which I had been taking for 50 years, and even though I did get over them, it was the darkest time of my life, yet a miracle because I made it through. Not long after, My Doctor was released for NOT prescribing medications he thought, and would hurt that patient in the long run. It shows how greedy, evil, manipulative Futher Muckers they are!💯

The lyrics reminded me of something I heard a few years ago. I got insights to a pharmaceutical company during my studies, when I talked to a former manager of their company. He said their goal is basically making medicine where you feel that it helps but you still end up to need more of it, because it doesn‘t cure you completely.
Just makes you realize how stupid we humans are, valuing money over the well-being of others.

See Dark Tranquillity's Edenspring; it talks about alcohol, but in such an elaborate way. Lethe too. Paradise Lost have a song about masturbation but the lyrics aren't as banal as "you're my bitch I cum in your face" (not saying Hypocrisy's are _that_ banal, but both them and Pain are pretty close).
That said, Hypocrisy is one of my favourite bands, so despite not being able to reflect into their lyrics, I still think they're godlike
@@Speed4Runs I agree about Paradise Lost, Dark T, or PAIN of Salvation whose lyrics are over the game. I was very touched by lyrics from Tatgtren, yes a few, but so deeply by songs as "Final Chapter" or others on the Hypocrisy album. But yes, if I think about Moonspell, it's not the same conception about the place of lyrics (Moonspell are my masters)

Peter Tägtgren: I’ve read-or rather heard-the comments by morons who’ve asked, “Is this an anti-vax song?” It’s funny ’cause people have no idea when I wrote this. It would be different if I wrote it during the pandemic, but since we finished the album well before the pandemic, it really has no connection to it.
With all the death/black metal bands that have came and gone hypocrisy have stood the test of time.Their true metal legends,they sound just as good as as the first time I heard them when I listened to abducted over 25 years ago.
Wow, the contrast between the smooth melodies and hard hitting riffs. Drumming is really solid and the vocals are brutal. What a great track!

I'm a pharmacist and so I'm kinda involved in this matter. I agree that it is a sensitive, controversial topic. On one hand we should praise the great achievements of science and medicine, but on the other hand it is bad if the whole thing goes abused and commercialisation gets out of hand. As for I, working in the national medicines agency, try to do my best to keep the whole thing checked, for the benefit of the people.
Of course some medicines are like needed and have benefits but some just do more harm than good. Used to be on meds before due to anxiety and such, they just made everything worse in the long run and it took me years to restore my mind after them, ouch.
fuck pills, it is the doctors who are to blame, bribed by pharma to prescribe unneeded medications . pharmacist is not responsible for doctor's corrupt, naive, uneducated misdeeds .
@@superblondeDotOrg well not all docs are bad, some I know really dislike prescribing pills, it's like very hard(or even impossible) to get any bad or addictive medicines from them, I have even been warned against many medicines cause they are addictive and such. Maybe the system is different in Sweden so not all docs are to blame but some yeah.
@@superblondeDotOrg there's a little more to it than that. there's almost never a straight line from disease to drug discovery to cure, or drug discovery/profit/adverse effect/cover up. Off label use is one.

@@ytbr3383 it is very different in U.S., very bad, there is a direct sales channel from pharma (which makes big big $$$) and the doctors who prescribe pills. Doctors are not trained in diet at all, or simple remedies, easy symptoms resolvable by diet are never suggested, instead, people even kids get prescribed pills and no other info, even if big side effects or even possible addictions involved. This music video is 110% correct in the metaphor of pushing drugs into young people.

There was much literature, music, cinema and art against big pharma also before covid. In the eighties Dead Kennedys for example wrote many songs on it.

Policy? This has nothing to do with politics. Pharmaceutical companies only aim for profit on people, they don't want to find a cure, but always make us sick with their drugs, including this Covid episode.
I'm sure thousands of people have commented saying this band is fucking underrated and incredible.. this band is death metal royalty! Fucking legends. I hope that 20-40 years from now tagtgren will be immortalized in some way with the likes of Dan Swano. Back in the day hypocrisy was very raw and the production was non existent. Happy to see they're moving with the times and playing the game while still staying true to being relentless death metal.
