I've had the privilege of riding the Thalys just once, from Paris to Amsterdam, and it was unforgettable. For all its speed it was so SMOOTH as it rocketed along all that nice welded rail. I remember each time we'd pass another Thalys going in the opposite direction I would feel the train I was on get a slight nudge to the left, no doubt from the compression of the air between them, and how the other train was just a blur out the window. And then when I realized that these trains were going a little over three miles a minute, and a minute after passing each other they were already over six miles apart... 😳wow. Much awe and respect as well for the highest quality engineering and construction that went into the infrastructure.... the trackage and electric supply that keep these wonderful trains running. 👍In comparison passenger travel here in the U.S. is a joke. 🙄

Le mouvement perpétuel de ces "chenilles" à grande vitesse, en ce 1er Août me donne l illusion bienfaisante d' être en vacances....heureuse, prête à découvrir les flots bleus, la sérénité, les beaux restaurants panoramiques avec vue sur les bateaux de croisière qui ont jeté l ancré dans la station...et je rêve aux temps heureux!....

Ravis ! Moins bien qu'avant, mais mes voyages en train se passent toujours mieux que quand je prend ma voiture. Bien sûr les services publics devraient investir plus dans le rail, ça il y a du boulot ça c'est clair
