camhs is an abysmal service. i went for anxiety and depression. and was told to just smile and when i expressed concerns about suicide they wanted me to talk to a school counsellor
Remember that you can speak to the Childline counsellors for support, they're always there to listen and support you whatever is happening in your life
@@childline id rather not. its all the same advice not to mention the stigma that surrounds childline. you cant assume all childrens problems are binary and can be solved by excersicing or dieting its a joke
camhs is different for everyone. sometimes you're lucky and get a good team, sometimes you're unlucky and get an awful team. most people get a mix of both. i know I've had lots of good experiences with camhs but also loads of bad ones :/ it's always good to be honest to them though imo even if they aren't great. it makes things a lot simpler and safer if you're honest.
Thanks for sharing your experience - we know that can really help others reading!
Got referred to camhs and been waiting for months, however, I've been using childline so that's helped me, seen loads of YT vids about it and this just seems extremely sugar coated and I think I feel talking to childline online is helping more it would going to camhs and being told it ain't bad enough to be solved etc.
Hi, we're really glad that talking has helped this much! This is Maja's experience of CAMHS but we know that for some, it can be very different - those experiences are something young people also talk to the counsellors about.
Dont blame ya tbh
Camhs are shit
chams failed me
Well most services have been
I got to famous but haven’t been there enough to have an opinion
This so so sugar coated lol
