very good explanation. thanks for the video!
would be great if you found the time to explain how to properly use it, because many people who are accustomed to digital SLRs find it tricky to adapt to analogue. Such as myself

Jcas : I thought I gave a good explanation of 'How it all works' but to get the 'Seeing Eye' for a good picture takes practice ! I would recommend you join a Club for Photography -- then you will learn from Photo Judges what makes a good picture and how to improve. Thanks for viewing .

@Jcas: You are already doing the right thing, namely watching CZcams videos on the subject. There are loads on film photography, and on the Olympus OM2 camera. Also, look for old books on the subject at jumble sales and charity shops, and of course, practice makes perfect! Anyway, as you can see from this video, an eight-year-old child can take brilliant pictures with one of these cameras. Every one is excellent. I wonder how this boy is doing now in 2019.

I won "Platinum in my College Photography Contest 1st Prize" using my "Olympus OM-2n with 50 mm. F/1.4 Super Multi-Coated ZUIKO Olympus Professional Lens. I used only "FujiColor X-TRA Iso-ASA 200 and 400 and 800 Fresh Color Films, which I always "Freeze my Gelatin Red, Green, Blue, Yellow FujiColor Emulsion Films in my Freezer-Refrigerators than I "Defrost" my Color FujiColor Films for 1 Full Day before "Installing the Color Films into my Olympus OM-2n Zuiko Lenses SLR Cameras as "always set my Olympus OM2n Compensation Dial to +2 Stops "Over-Exposure" to bring the "Higher Latitudes of more Vivid-Natural Saturated Colors + Slightly Brighter Images"!!!! Color Negative (Process C-41.) Films always outperform any Digital SLRs which only "Over Expose the Linear Binary Digital Camera Images" but on Color Films it "Increases the Vivid Color Saturation Naturally as well as only Brightening the Image only slightly. This now produces "Studio Quality Exquisite Razor Sharp, Deep Color Images on Color Negative Films" the "NO" Digital SLR Cameras can "NEVER" produce. This is what is meant by Kodak and Fuji when they state that Color Negative Films have "Ultra-High Latitudes of +1 , +2, +3, +4 Over-Exposure "Studio Quality Imaging Latitudes" "NOT" available on the BEST of Digital SLR Cameras. So, Color Negative Films in the Professional Portra, Provia, Ektar Color Negative (Process C-41.) Films have up to 12 Stops of Latitude from -6 under-exposure to +6 "over-exposure" color Film Stocks and even Fuji Superia and Kodak Gold can accept "up to +4 Over-Exposure Maximum Stops for Naturally Saturating the Colors and only slightly brightening your Studio Quality Prints by 1 Stop every 1 Stop extra of "Over-Exposure". Over Exposure can be set on either Electronic TTL Light Metering of +1,+2 over-exposure Compensation Dial Adjustment or by example. Iso-ASA 400 Color Negative Films set at "100 Iso-ASA Settings on your Manual Film Speed Dial Settings to give your 400 Iso-ASA Color Negative Film, in this example +2 Stops Over-Exposure by setting your "Film Speed Dial Settings to 100 Iso-ASA Electronic TTL Meterings" the rest lies on your proper Apertures and Shutter Speed Adjustments. Always remember to us a Tripod when shooting below 1/60th of a second on your Shutter Speed and use Flash Indoors to avoid "off Color-Balances" or else use "80A or 80B Blue Filters for Indoor Tungsten Incandescent Lighting or FL-Day Salmon Filter for "Flourescant Lightings" or else just use "Calibrated Electronic 6 Volt Electronic Flashes". Happy Analog Color Film Photography++++, Color Films is still very much ""Alive""!!!!

One wonders if that will endure and what we will lose if it does not - maybe it will endure longer - that is a possibility. But it seems sad to rely on electrons instead of a print. Although years ago I stopped using print film and switched to slide film because the labs were so bad at printing and getting the colors all wrong and even not getting the exposure anywhere near right in the print. There was a time when competition for quality lab work really resulted in nice prints - but that went away. Although I hear there are still some good places. I never really had the facilities to do them at home and today the digital cameras can make some things easier - but there is a giant tendency not to print. But I will say that the digital revolution has made the used film camera market easier for me get access to some nice equipment - due to price. And with film you don't have the megapixel race all you need to do is go to a larger format. On the upside though, with digital you can easily send the image somewhere to get it printed, even on metal. But on the whole I think people should print more - regardless of film or digital. Once that Facebook account goes away or some hard drive crashes or some disaster like war or nature causes disruption - somehow I think a hard copy via a print has a better chance of keeping history alive.
