.maida or plain flour 1 cup or 130g
.sugar 1 cup or 175g
.butter 60 gm
.milk 1/2 cup or 125ml
.vanilla essence 1 tsp
.baking powder 1tsp

I tried this recipe today. I doubled the recipe. Instead of 2 tsps vanilla essence, I did 1 tsp vanilla, 1 tsp coconut extract and 1 tsp coconut rum. Delicious!!! Great recipe to keep close to the heart👍❤️

I wanted to bake a Japanese vanilla sponge cake and thought of giving this recipe a try. The cake came out perfect. I followed exact steps as mentioned in the video. Simple ingredients, simple process, awesome cake. Just two points to add: For me 1 cup maida wasn't equal to 130g. So i went by cup measurement. And secondly 1 cup sugar makes the cake too sweet. One can go for 3/4th cup instead. Will try the eggless version now. Thanks for sharing the recipe. Happy Baking !
Did u use granulated sugar?
@@thomasthachett9472 Nope. Used normal sugar available at home. It was pretty close to being granulated sugar based on its size.
How many grams is 1 cup??
Yes 1 cup flour measures 150gm n 1 cup sugar measures 275 gm😢

This is a hit recipe. My cake turned out so spongy and yummy. I actually reduced a little amount of sugar as it seemed too much for my liking, maybe 3/4 cup i added instead of 1 cup..But superb result.

Thank you Manjari Mam. Surely the best sponge cake recipe or better than that .It tasted like butter cake . I didnt have an oven and made it with stove by preheating a big aluminium vessel and placing the cake tin in it. It took me around 30- 35 mins. Dont put on high flame. Keep checking. Go for it.

I’ve baked this cake thrice and it always turns out great. It’s great served alone but I make a layered cake so I add sugar syrup otherwise it dries out

Milk should not be super hot while adding.it should be warm.you need to boil the milk and melt the butter at the beginning of the process.so by the time you finish beating the eggs, milk and butter mixture will be still warm but not very hot and you can add it.thank you.
