  • Lossless scaling on Steam refers to a feature that allows users to scale up or down the resolution of a game without sacrificing image quality. Essentially, it ensures that the game's graphics remain crisp and clear even when adjusting the resolution to fit different screen sizes or performance preferences. This is particularly useful for gamers who want to maintain visual fidelity while playing on high-resolution displays or older hardware.
    Please note that the performance test results provided are indicative and may vary based on individual hardware configurations, software settings, and environmental factors. The results should be considered as a general guideline rather than definitive performance expectations.

    Hey, I don't know if you've heard of the software called Auto TDP, which you can basically set the TDP you want it to be, then you set the max FPS you want, and it will try to reach that FPS while saving power. Auto TDP and Lossless Scaling is the best combination, I especially use it when travelling.

      Which one is it? There are a couple of app that support this

    Great video.. Thanks...
    Do you use vertical sync ON on lossless?

    • @T-PEN
      @T-PEN  Před 18 dny +1

      Yes, I used vertical sync with the maximum refresh rate. I noticed that the higher the refresh rate, the lower the ghosting and waving distortion.

    You may want to try the LS1 scaling option as I usually find it a bit better than FSR which is actually FSR1. LS1 is Lossless Scalings own algorithm and is usually lighter on resources too. I would be interested to see what you think. Thanks for your videos they have been a great help.

      Yes, I plan to make a video for that feature too. I also tested it, and it’s a good option. Thanks for reminding me.

    i`ve been using lossless scaling on my pc for the past few months and am honestly addicted to it, so smoooth it's not every game that i'm able to push 90+ on gpu power alone

    • @T-PEN
      @T-PEN  Před 18 dny +1

      Yes, it works best with single-player games. I prefer to play games with Lossless Scaling rather than with native performance.

    Can you measure the ms delay on movements from off scaling and on? I want to know how delayed it is. Sometimes better than other games. Fps not so much

    • @T-PEN
      @T-PEN  Před 19 dny +1

      I notice the ms delay when playing at higher resolutions. Currently, I don’t know how to monitoring ms delay.

      i don't know about the legion go but on pc, lossless scaling delay wasn't really noticeable in no man's sky and street fighter 6 (both at 60fps with the software pushing 120, my monitor is 144hz) but the crazy thing is that i felt a bit of delay on stardew valley 😂

      @vdfritzz that is pretty crazy. Really starting to think it's the type of gameplay 🤷‍♂️

    In the new version of lossless (2.8) are there very significant changes?

    • @T-PEN
      @T-PEN  Před 19 dny

      The visual improvements are very noticeable, less ghosting & less wavy distortion. Also, they have add performance mode for less powerful GPU that is good for handheld gaming devices.

      @@T-PEN I've been testing it and it seems to have improved... but it bothers me a little that when I put the game in borderless window mode I get black stripes at the top and bottom, is it possible to expand to the entire screen?

    • @T-PEN
      @T-PEN  Před 19 dny

      You can change in Scaling Mode Settings from Aspect Ratio to Full Screen.

    Can you do a video with 1280x800 res, 144 hz refresh rate, fps base capped in 36 fps, LSFG2.0 and AMD FSR enabled and best graphic quality possible to achive it? Thank's!
