On my final day I also left early in the morning and o so dark. I got to a spot at sunrise and found a hillside to stop and watch the sun come up. Pilgrams coming up behind me realized what I was doing and joined me.
Entering the square is very emotional. Again enjoying how you curate your videos. Onward to the ocean!

Body was tired, heart was full but also had to say goodbye to so many ew friends…Although, we had decided about 5 days out, we will not say goodbye, instead we chose to say, I will see you again down the trail my friend. Congratulations to you both! What a tremendous accomplishment. You ought to be proud! 800 seems like a high number for April. Maybe a sign of another busy year. When we arrived into Santiago on June 30th last year, we were 4 of 2,250 for the day. We went on to spend 3 days in Muxia to rest and relax. God blessings on you both Jason! 🤟

i'am also a fan of not walking in the dark. I did it just once, also my last day into Santiago. So happy you made, watched each day you walked. did it last May-June and i'am going to do it again this May-June. Lots of good places to eat in Santiago and shop around. I spent 3 nights there at the end. Spent 2 nights in Fisterra but I took a bus there. Sitting by the ocean outside having dinner or lunch in Fisterra is also very nice. Spent 2 nights there. Can't wait to see your journey to Fisterra. Buen Camino.

Questions for you: 1. What made you decide on the dates and time of year to walk? And, would you change the dates to another time of year if you did it again? 2. Were you prepared for the weather with everything you did bring? 3. Would you change dates if that meant it would lighten your packs? Meaning, would the warmer weather be too hot for all that walking just to not have to bring so much stuff?
This is the easiest time for me to get off of work. I probably wouldn’t change the dates. We have enjoyed the solitude. We weren’t prepared for the very low temperatures. We both ended up buying some more warm clothes.

@@RecksTreks my wife came home from cycling and wanted to watch you post, so I pulled it up and watched it again with her…that’s when I realized I must not have watched it from the beginning the first time because you clearly mentioned going to Finisterre in the first couple of minutes.
