    I tell this to everyone who walks the Camino, but at some point everyone should take at least one rest day. It does wonders for you mentally by giving you time to reevaluate and refocus your pilgrimage.. Find a small pension or casa rural. It's an amazing feeling knowing that when you go to sleep, you won't be walking the next day. Catch up on laundry, journaling, or whatever. Eat good, and rest good. When you do start walking again, you'll feel rejuvenated and renewed!

    Love the energy in this video! You guys are awesome!!
    I think that is the most hair I've ever witnessed on your dome since I've known you. What is your long hair alter ego name? Mine was "Lyle". That name was "gifted" to me by my loving wife. 😂
    So, Lady Reck... What is Sir Reck's long hair alter ego name?!?

    There are huge gas stations on the del Norte, with all the things truckers need, some have restaurants as well.

    My husband and I leave for our Camino (FrenchWay) August 20th 2024. I have probably watched way too many videos and searched way too much for info. I'm glad I found your journey. It's refreshing to get a real perspective of what is instore for us the good and the bad, the ugly and how to just deal with each other every minute of everyday. We're married for 46 years and have been together for 50. SO more to learn about each other. Love the Relive app going to give it a shot for our family to stay connected with our progress. WOW only a little under 200KM to go. I'll be sad to see your journey end for me!

      Thanks so much for following along. It’s been a journey that’s for sure. Hope you’ve picked up a thing or 2. Buen Camino

    Yay for the countryside (and hello to the mountains)! This day's stage was how I always imagined the Camino to look like long before we walked it. Thanks for bringing back some great memories of this day! Oh yes, I see you also missed the chocolate museum in Astorga ... one day, we're going back to Astorga especially for that chocolate!

    Hope your blister heals quickly. Maybe it's from those huge puddles you had to cross. You two rock!

    You have said that you prefer towns to cities, so I can tell you that until Santiago you will only see towns, except for Ponferrada and Santiago itself. In Galicia you will see many small towns and for me the most beautiful, O Cebreiro. Enjoy them.

    If you have a moment, could you discuss what your 12 week training program consisted of to prepare for the Camino? You guys are making some serious miles. Love the Relive too.

      Our nutrition coach is also a marathon coach. Over 12 weeks she had us build up to a 20 mile weighted walk. We also had multiple 10-15 mile training days done back to back to get ready for the grind. I think it really helped a lot

    You two are doing great and such an inspiration. Are there hair dryers in you accommodations? Like Mr. Reck's hiking pants, where did you get them and what brand? We are enjoying you videos and posts. We hope to do a Camino walk one day soon.

    • @RecksTreks
      @RecksTreks  Před 2 měsíci

      Most places have had a hair dryer yes. I bought the orange ones at Decathlon. Brand is Forclaz and I really like them

      @@RecksTreks Thank you for the information. Decathlon sounds like a great store since this is also where one can buy hiking poles. Are your hiking pants water resistant?
