I've used magura mt5's with shimano levers and really didn't like them, found the power to be overhyped, magura pad and rotor alignment is annoying. I had mine with hc storm 203 and 180 and they make a real horrible noise and vibrate, I've tried both hooked pads and single ones in ( hooked are bad, really bad design ). Only thing i've kept is the rotors, love 2mm thick rotors. If you want good stopping power with 2 piston calipers at a very low price, slx m675, if you want 4 piston at a good price you can try a full set slx m7120. I avoid using a vice for my hose re-fitting and only use the tool and its built in clamp. Be aware of the bleed screw on the levers, they are plastic. If your levers ever break and can fit modern shimano levers with only a change to the olive.
