Is the pit deliberately designed to be a double hazard? Falling into it is perfectly reasonable, but placing it exactly a beetle-weight bot's width from the wall so that it acts like an 'out-of-arena' side-rail trap seems extra mean!
Curious, I'm looking at building my own beetle, somewhat similar in design to K2. Do you have any recommendations for a weapon motor? I know the direction I'm wanting to go, just a matter of trying to get money and, where possible, information from other BW builders before making the jump. As a sidenote, are there any restrictions against the D2 kit? It feels like the more BW fights I find, the more bone stock D2s I see. Seems like a bit much to me
I don't have any motor recommendations for you, a vertical spinner would use a very different motor than Debacle. I prefer inrunners for vertical spinners but I haven't built a vertical beetle in a long time. D2 kits are competitive but not invincible. I'm not in favor of rule changes that dictate which bots are allowed to enter.
