but isn't this a festival thing you look at comedians +10 hours a day? she says shes on late and half the audience is ghosts. i'd say if bbc air this clip, they clearly got balls. *=)*
The awkwardness that she brings to the story and the way that she pulls it around into how she still makes fun of her brother made it really entertaining. I agree that rainbow images would be really cool.
those jokes are difficult to pull off, especially because they're coming from personal experiences. I wish the crowd was more accepting of that kind of humor.
@@mogur00 this has a very similar structure and thematic to most clips of This Is Not Happening but I guess if it's not coming from the mouth of a bearded dude in his thirties dressed like a traumatised lumberjack then it's just not the same
The look of shock on some of their faces were just hilarious. I feel so bad for her little soul though because I would've been SO embarrassed... The audience wasn't receptive in the least!
Those jokes are a little risqué especially with a crowd that isn't ready for a female comedian, but I couldn't imagine anyone else pulling it off. Like her charisma, and her cute, slightly add energy would make any joke work for me. I discovered her today and I'm going on a massive spree of her stand up. Absolutely LOVE her!
Crowd gave me the impression it had -in its majority- a very conservative, self-constrained and prudish stance about humor. Sure, not everything is funny. But then again nothing is. Comedy is a two way street. Anything can make an open-minded person at least crack a smile, regardless of one's opinion about the performance quality. That being said, i personally found her story telling very honest, vigilant and very refreshing in an utterly not ''not funny'' way. .
Not sure how well my disgusting comedy would go over in that setting. Not sure those people ever had a real side splitting laugh in their lives. Cultural differences perhaps.
That was fkn awesome. Who tf has a better shit show childhood fam story. The cuts to the audience that was not cracking up, just made it even better in my opinion.loved it n killed the late night Mae Martin!
Man, I love being Canadian cuz I thought this was hilarious. This is a long time ago but wow, prudish much? hahaha not many hippie Dads in the UK I guess. lol
Thing is the country had a lot of historic child sex scandals in the media at the time so people probably don't want to invest in to the story in a comical sense. It's a funny story but her awkwardness passes into the crowd.
Slack-jawed with disbelief at some of the pearl-clutching comments below. God forbid you should ever listen to Anthony Jeselnik. Well Mae, should you ever read this, you were hilarious. And I love Feel Good.
It was actually pretty funny. If people stopped putting real labels when hearing funny anecdotes of all types and, well.......sizes.......the world would be a nicer and more encouraging place for us.
Ok, so if you were hanging out and she told these stories it would be amusing. But it's hardly bill hicks. It's ok to admit that, comedy is the hardest art form to get right, and here is a good example.
The crowd looks a little put out and unamused, which is a shame because I absolutely adore Mae Martin.
Yh I agree, they did. it's a shame really because she was sooooo funny
but isn't this a festival thing you look at comedians +10 hours a day? she says shes on late and half the audience is ghosts. i'd say if bbc air this clip, they clearly got balls. *=)*
Put off*
It was at Edinburgh Fringe, the Scots speak a different language up there ahaha they probably couldn't understand her.
She’s really not funny. She’s cute and has a decent energy but not comedian material
People are so passive. Some of them aren't even smiling at the very least, and that disappoints me. I adore her. She's honest, and really adorable.
I'm so disappointed for her about the audience's reaction. She's honestly my favourite comedian, I literally cried with laughter when I saw her live
i admire her for just powering through despite how awkward the story was lol. She just kept on top of it
lol "they said it was a late night show" hahahaha
Is this a religious crowd? They seem very conservative.
stop cutting to people that aren't laughing.
+John Russell yes it's so annoying!
It's a way to react to the awkwardness and the stress of people not laughing, which is normal. It's not like she did it 15 times.
Why going to a comedy show if you have no sense of humor right
Those people must be fun at parties..
“sometimes even when i’m by myself i fake it!!!”
that’s hilarious! i love mae martin! x bette midler
The awkwardness that she brings to the story and the way that she pulls it around into how she still makes fun of her brother made it really entertaining. I agree that rainbow images would be really cool.

theyr not jokes.... theyr stories... Telling stories without any actual JOKES is a great way to kill a room.
It's not comedy. It's a person who has been sexually abused as a child detailing that abuse as a form of catharsis.
@@mogur00 this has a very similar structure and thematic to most clips of This Is Not Happening but I guess if it's not coming from the mouth of a bearded dude in his thirties dressed like a traumatised lumberjack then it's just not the same
@@urbanitecrusher5709 we're all born naked, darling. Nothing shameful about that.
@@mogur00 I agree completely. The crowd is bored and feeling awkward. I don't blame them.
Who’s here after watching Feel Good?
Check out her guilty feminist appearances!
Me😎
Me
Me
The look of shock on some of their faces were just hilarious. I feel so bad for her little soul though because I would've been SO embarrassed... The audience wasn't receptive in the least!
This makes me feel better about my childhood.
Me too!
Whats with that crowd?! Shes hilariousss!!!! Had me in tears.
Id love that story at any time of the day.
The first story made me burst into tears! Either the audience is full of prudes or they are incapable of imagining the situation. It was hilarious!
The shocked male faces in the audience honestly make this already hilarious set even better.
If it was a guy telling the same story I bet the audience wouldn't be so shocked.
jandê sooooo true 🙄
BenjaminFranklin99 nah.
I was JUS thinking that.
@ bruhhhhhhhhh
Weird way for you to seek validation.

the shocked face at 2:53 😂 I'm creasing
Holy shit, you couldn't make that up. That is one of the funniest things I've ever seen.
She's funnier than the crowd is giving her credit for.
she's adorable
YaoiLuvrMiacosey funny

2:53 the way the guy looks at the camera
She is one of my new faves!
she is so beatiful
Everytime Mae Martin speaks I feel my soul melt
I LOVE Mae Martin wayyyyy to much
They are incredible
I feel like everyone has those odd childhood sibling stories that, while totally innocent, should never be told out loud
They can be interpreted so badly, some faces in the audience were thinking... ''Dodgy Daddy''
I went to one of her great half three sets and she did tell this story
Absolutely adorable!
She is so adorable, this set was hilarious
I seriously love her
how are people not laughing i am literally trying not to cry from laughter rn
I just laughed to hard at the part that her brother got yeeted onto the wall like a bug 🤣🤣
Mae Martin is so adorable
she is so funny lmaooo why isnt the crowd laughing
Not sure how well my disgusting comedy would go over in that setting. Not sure those people ever had a real side splitting laugh in their lives. Cultural differences perhaps.
It sounded like they were laughing but panning the camera to those who weren't😅
Yo, this is a great set.
That was fkn awesome. Who tf has a better shit show childhood fam story. The cuts to the audience that was not cracking up, just made it even better in my opinion.loved it n killed the late night Mae Martin!
im so sorry i love mae with all my heart but the dude at 02:53 looking at the camera like he's on the office is more hysterical than this whole set
I love Mae. 😍
Wish I had been there. Would have scream-laughed. This story is hilarious.
Omg you’re literally the cutest thing I’ve ever seen
God yeah, cutting away to people not laughing! The audience are laughing, just not the ones they cut to.
HAHAHA, the best part is that the audience wasn't prepared for that :D
2:53 That guy can't believe it 😂😂😂
It's official. I'm in love with her
I love that she said "press-ups" instead of "push-ups." The UK is rubbing off on her!
I noticed the same thing! I wonder if she’s doing it purposely to “connect” better with the crowd or because her vocabulary is genuinely changing.
This is everything a standup set could be
she is adorable and super funny ❤
She is very good, very funny, new age and not afraid to cross some lines or so. Very cool!
What's wrong with the audience I love her sm oml
Did you guys give it up for Wendy and James? I give it up everytime i see Mae's clips 👏👏
She's adorable, I want to see more but every video of her is the same joke - she has to have more content than this
redfox01001011 have you seen her set on Russell Howard's Good News?
2:52 But that guys FACE OF SHOCK
"A party in a library."
*crowd snapping their fingers*
I never realized that a comedian have to risk bombing EVEN when they are being this personal sincere.
The crowd was so unimpressed, like I thought that was hilarious
They weren't unimpressed. They were shocked.
Man, I love being Canadian cuz I thought this was hilarious. This is a long time ago but wow, prudish much? hahaha not many hippie Dads in the UK I guess. lol
Wow she's actually pretty cool!
When did Topher Grace start doing stand-ups?
HILARIOUS
I'm glad I had a normal childhood.
Jajajajajajaja jajajajajaja WTF. Jajaja this is so AWKWARD!!! Love it.
2021 n now youtube say this is for me... ffs 2002 this would been best ever
she's so cute I can't stop smiling
« Sometimes even when I’m by myself I fake it » 🤣🤣🤣 she’s just the best
Tough crowd tho :/
The dude in 2:53-2:55 is so Shook, it's hilarious
Damn I️ could feel that awkwardness and the crowd wasn’t laughing and looked uncomfortable
I love you girl
Thing is the country had a lot of historic child sex scandals in the media at the time so people probably don't want to invest in to the story in a comical sense. It's a funny story but her awkwardness passes into the crowd.
no i think her awkwardness was because the crowd
The awkwardness is part of her performance ^^ it's fake, for the show. And I think it works wonderfully
LMAO yooooo what a risk taker
Slack-jawed with disbelief at some of the pearl-clutching comments below. God forbid you should ever listen to Anthony Jeselnik. Well Mae, should you ever read this, you were hilarious. And I love Feel Good.
She looks like Topher Grace
That's who it is ! Thank you that was driving me insane
She is so funny, sucks that the audience couldn't see it and appreciate her
wouldent even tell this story to my therapist ffs
Those people comming in at 1:50 hearing "Large penis" XD
5:12 the woman laughs towards the camera!!!
why does she look like eric foreman from that 70s show
she's not Scottish?
Funniest part of the video 2:53
are canadians ok?
Why did they put in all the bits of unamused people
2:53 the guy omg
Im crying listening to this 😂😂😂😂 i dont understand how some people are serious through the penis story
I've met her Dad, it's not that big!
The crowd was really shy
Waiting for the "comedy" part of the presentation.
Weird childhood
It was actually pretty funny. If people stopped putting real labels when hearing funny anecdotes of all types and, well.......sizes.......the world would be a nicer and more encouraging place for us.
She looks like Emma Stone a bit
Ok, so if you were hanging out and she told these stories it would be amusing. But it's hardly bill hicks. It's ok to admit that, comedy is the hardest art form to get right, and here is a good example.
WHY THOUGH
That story was fucked up from so many perspectives
I think her mum and dad are a bit strange
bassconga12345 they’re canadians
I liked her other videos so I watched this one but this is legitimately a weird and worrying story.
That crowd was so typically british...
The people who aren’t laughing are ppl who laugh at the stupidest shit in the world. This is pure gold lmfao
