my dad told me ....." don't worry no matter how bad it is , it can always get worst "
Does that also mean never be happy it could always be better ?
@@lunadacire7375 I' m pretty sure he meant " just be positive "
That's some toxic positivity bullshit. But that's typical from parents.
Maybe it could always be worse so appreciate the positive stuff.
@@meghanmonroe coming from a poor hard scrabble farming family , where disaster was just a storm away , he was just telling that there is a whole range of bad

Psychedelics are just an exceptional mental health breakthrough. It's quite fascinating how effective they are against depression and anxiety. Saved my life.
Can you help with the reliable source I would really appreciate it. Many people talk about mushrooms and psychedelics but nobody talks about where to get them. Very hard to get a reliable source here in Australia. Really need!
Yes, dr.sporesss. I have the same experience with anxiety, depression, PTSD and addiction and Mushrooms definitely made a huge huge difference to why am clean today.
I wish they were readily available in my place.
Microdosing was my next plan of care for my husband. He is 59 & has so many mental health issues plus probable CTE & a TBI that left him in a coma 8 days. It's too late now I had to get a TPO as he's 6'6 300+ pound homicidal maniac.
He's constantly talking about killing someone.
He's violent. Anyone reading this Familiar w/ BPD know if it is common for an obsession with violence.
Is he on instagram?
Yes he is. dr.sporesss
"There's a lotta 'Ted Talks' going on in comedy right now."
- Godfrey
so cool that you quoted Godfrey
Watching comedians who struggle with mental illness talk about mental illness is healing. Watching comedians who don't struggle with mental illness talk about mental illness is cringey at best. I felt for a long time like I couldn't seek help for my mental illnesses because I didn't have a "right" to feel so awful all the time and hate my life because nothing very traumatic has ever happened to me. "You're privileged to have a mental illness" is a damaging take to public mental health.
Yeah, some of these felt a little shitty.
I agree. I've suffered my entire life with depression. Nothing funny about it. Not happy or grateful, definitely not privileged.
Absolutely agree, the difference between the comedians here who have struggled with mental health and those who haven’t is striking. Hearing some of these people is like hearing the worst parts of my inner voice shouting back at me.
Agreed, but it's an easy joke to go for, so they do it. Not all of their material can be brilliant.
I am not sure what you are talking about, but the one lady was saying if you are poor and depressed, you cannot afford therapy to find out, so people will just call you lazy or whatever, but when you have money, you can afford to be diagnosed with a mental illness. now you are not lazy, you are depressed and you have the reciepts, literally, to prove it.
You are not the feeling... that shit is deep.
While true, it’s not exactly what I would be telling a patient with anxiety. A good therapist leads a patient toward a realization instead of giving them something else to worry about. Then again, this is a comedy routine so it makes perfect sense here, lol.
Comedy has always expressed the current things happening in the world in a unique way. It's interesting how mental health is becoming a topic, and maybe it's good...helping destigmatize it or help people realize they're not alone. I had anxiety for a long time, books like "30 Days to Reduce Anxiety" by Harper Daniels and "The Power of Now' by Tolle really helped a lot.
I could see this happening about 6 or 7 years ago… and I believe the future will be even more challenging
Thank you for the book recommendations 👍
Great book!
Its definitely good its being talked about. Even in a joking way it brings awareness people can look into it if they relate but felt confused about it. Love it in comedy.
I was raised with immigrant parents and it took a doctor using a medical textbook to convince them I had clinical depression
“Im experiencing…rage. How curious”😂
If you're happy and you know it, it's your meds!!! 💚
😂😂😂
Great line
👏👏
Bwahahahahahaha 😂😂😂😂
"clap clap"
tom segura: "get off me" 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
One of the funniest "thanks, Obama"s I've heard in a while. 🤣
"They both have custody" 😂😂❤❤ 😂
I love how comedians turn everything into funny and jokes 😂
Actually Neal, I was very much OK during isolation and shutdowns. It was like the Olympics, and I had been training for it my whole life.
I love Tom's take on 69. No one really wants to do it, it's just a way to get what you want from the other person. It's not a sexual position, it's a transaction. quid pro quo.
Heh. Ace vibes. Welcome 💜🖤🤍
@Claire-tk4do Was my first thought to. I am ace and this dude gives off major garlic bread/cake/dragons vibes.🖤🤍💜
69 is the worst. Only did it one time, the night my ex and I got back together. Half way through he was like, "Let's just take turns, you keep moving too much."
the first one is so relateable. they started treating me for it and it's only when I asked about it that they said anything
Yup and that goes for doctors in general too sadly
Im experiencing rage was funny as fuck
Welcome to the world of bipolar disorder! As a fellow bipolar sufferer I can tell you it’s a blast!😏
TRUE! My Therapist "You mayyyyyy have Bi-Polar 2...... orrrrrrrrrrr undiagnosed ADHD with multiple mood disorders." F%ck you, I'm quarky and loose half the arguments in my head!
I'd imagine that it sometimes is pretty awful as well.
Been there done that!!
Can confirm! I don't even have to pay to go on roller coasters lol. The roller coaster life chose me.
And it's not!
The USA's healthcare system is so wild. As a Brit, with universal healthcare I'd never considered mental health issues a wealth/class indicator, but actually getting diagnosis and treatment legit is over there. It's kinda a weird reversal because a few decades ago the adage was poor people are crazy; rich people are _eccentric_. But I guess these days it's poor people are either so impacted they're "crazy" and avoided; while rich(er) people are diagnosed with specific conditions.
To be clear, when I say poor people are crazy I mean those who cannot pass in school/work/society as 'normal' (which is a nonsensical concept for a person no healthier than 'perfect') and/or whose struggle to cope undiagnosed/unsupported leads them into maladaptive coping mechanisms, such as numbing the pain/taking the edge off through addictions, etc, which then makes them stereotypically crazy/disfunctional outliers in their communities.
Just wanted to be clear I don't think it's ever been true that there are fewer people who suffer mental health issues in a particular financial/class demographic, (although I'm fairly sure the types of issues may vary due to environmental factors) but western capitalist societies have always had different rules about which of those groups get/deserve compassion and treatment/care for their ailments vs who gets left to fall through the cracks/dumped in a cruel institution, etc.
As a poor American on disability, I have limited access to healthcare which, I suppose, is better than none. But when it comes to mental health services, seeing the wrong therapist can be pretty useless. And I'm dealing with more than just garden variety depression and anxiety (e.g. bipolar, borderline pd, CPTSD).
Weirdly, depression is not equally distributed. Like, if you don’t control for confounders, black people are more likely to be depressed and if you do, less likely.
Taylor's mood stabilizer is my anti-seizer medicine, hits me a little different:P
I have lamotrigin to treat both my epilepsy and as a mood stabiliser, 50 x2 for the epilepsy and 100 x1 for the mood lmao
Lol jessica kirson… it made me anxious hearing that 😂😂😂
Same 😂
I was very happy to see Jessica! Love that lady.😅👏🏼
Love Jessica Kirson!
JUST HEARING JOKES ABOUT REAL ISSUES IS GREAT❤ WHO SIGNS UP FOR DEPRESSION OR ANXIETY😢 BUT GREAT TO LAUGH ABOUT IT ❤
Che ain’t wrong tho
He's an idiot.
😮😮my doctor asked me if I thought the world would be better if I was dead. I said “NO, the world would be better if my soon to be EX was dead”. He said I was not depressed, I was pissed off. 😡 ❤❤❤
I literally DO observe the feeling. I have this new sense of detachment that I'm still figuring out. That's definitely a perk cuz I can talk myself down from the ledge like Im my own therapist, but then I also can't FEEL either. (I know it's temporary -my dad just died), but it's unnerving.
It’s okay, Brian Regan.
Celtic Frost would pronounce Mongolian Emperor the same way😂
And the dark-haired lady is hilarious
"Iy implies that your life is good enough that you SHOULDN'T be sad..." okay, yeah, as a white guy who fights chronic depression and blah blah blah. he's right. Doesn't make it suck any less though when you're on a down cycle though.
Tbh I don't get it
Che KILLED it ⚔️
These comedians are a blast.
Tom segura is the funniest I swear 🤣🤣🤣
Hey John stay out of the casinos! Remember, gambling addiction is just a phone call away 😂😂
Heroin for anxiety cocaine for depression
Old school pharmacy hits different.
I take Klonopin and I lie to my friends that I have seizures because that seems more acceptable than anxiety disorder
Good call. Plus you never know who'd use that information against you. Been there.
😢
wth can’t even be awake on that stuff
@@user-hq3fd2th7b the key is small doses
My dad thinks that exercise will make your severe depression will go away. Uhm no.. it might help but that is it.
Athletes get depressed too.
I don’t give a flying damn if the tribe rejects me, lol. Welcome to sanity and peace. Sometimes it’s a good thing when the tribe rejects you.
We are the lucky ones, mate.
Tom is spot on. Especially now with the internet. The older kids would show us and tell us about pretty fucked up shit
6:05 props to Neal for giving Bo Burnham credit for his amazing “Inside” album during COVID.
I think Santayana was right. Depression is rage spread thin. I know politics laser-focuses mine.
_"Depression is rage spread thin."_
My god.
13:50 No point making any significant changes because "My life's ****ed anyway"
30 years ago chillin' with friends at some guy's house at about 3am, someone suggested starting a game of HeroQuest 🎲
The guy whose house it was said yeah why not ?
Nothing to get up in the morning for anyway
Similar sentiment
Comedians have almost always been anxious or depressed or mentally unwell.
If you’re mentally healthy and happy and relaxed, weird shit just skates by unnoticed. Cuz you’re good.
When you’re ill and anxious and depressed that weird stuff plays in your head til you find a way to laugh about it
Best part’s @ 8:49 🤣🤣🤣
7:55 If I ever have a Barbarian in a DND game, I will have him say that.
8:07 ❤
Sharing on my mental health platforms. ❤😂
Me, below the poverty level, renting a room from a friend post-divorce, diagnosed with depression.
“Oh yeah this is the life.”
Are antidepressants copium?
(Kidding, I can’t take antidepressants or my bipolar ass will become manic.)
Love Brian Reagan
Sorry Regan
The guy who talks about COVID. I like that guy he seems to get what anxiety is like.
Neal Brennan. He was a writer for Chapelle Show and he wrote The Goods: Live Hard Sell Hard (fucking hilarious movie).
So I forget their name. But the one with the forest background is hilarious and I just love the forest background. It's so soothing
Hannah Gadsby and Ricky Gervais could claim they're siblings and I wouldn't even question it
love it!!!!
LMFAO...SO TRUE TAYLOR👀☝🏼🤣🤣🤣
Smart to be comedians
I love Taylor ❤
2:26 Oh Yeah!! Michael Che
He said that line, "...that you shouldn't be sad." And there was this audible gasp, a hush, and then a growing applause as people recognized the honesty. That wave of energy from shock, to thought, and then yes, he's right! Powerful!
@@Wraithpaz He is the least honest person. He's a hack. And by hack, I mean...hacker. He also rates women 1-10 based on their looks. What is he going to rate you?
@@rosemarywoodhouse4832 I wouldn't care what he rates me. The words he said were meaningful and deep. I always boost speaker uppers. Thank you.
@@Buffalo_Crone He doesn’t speak up. He keeps his mouth shut to protect people that he surrounds himself with due to socializing or his job. He makes sure others don’t try to speak up, especially as a result of his hacking. It’s kind of called blackmail.
Brian regan😂🔥
I came for Taylor Tomlinson
Neal is underrated
So good so far!
Ef Michael Che for taking pot shots at mental health. Depression is a drag no matter who it affects.
The reason people are anxious and depressed is because up until now, they knew their life would be wasted to give people they had never met a better life.
Tell a child, you will work for 60 years to give someone else a better life…You wouldn’t do it would you? So why are you doing it as an adult…
This is not their playground, it’s mine 😎
awesome 😂
If my peeping tom neighbor would just move away, or return to his rightful planet, my anxiety would be gone! 🙄🤪 Thanks for the laffs! 😁✌️❤️🦋🙏
The person who talked about the recommendation to observe-- I get it
Mr. Che nailed it.
He nails nothing.
@@rosemarywoodhouse4832 Your mom is nothing?
2:21
Yes…….
I love how Americans mispronounce something and then make fun of people who don’t
Sometimes being poor is the root of anxiety and depression in my opinion
so..jessica kirson sat next to chipmunks 😂😂😂
For those who don't know, most funny ppl, actually suffer from some sorta mental illness. To cope they hide behind being funny. It's easier then facing it.
To be able to be funny and talk about it, is healing
7:50 when you get the big health news from the doctor while a touch high, this is genuinely how I processed my thoughts.
As much as I'm an advocate for being on the right meds, I swear some psychiatrists are so useless lol.
That's so true~~
good for all of you that you don't suffer from either!
Im glad one of them addressed that therapy is a flex of wealth.
Who's the guy at 3:05 mark with glasses... he's freaking hilarious 😂😂
His name is Tom Papa, he has a ton of specials on Netflix and CZcams 😊
“That you shouldn’t be sad” 🤪😜😝
What’s up w the CGI effect on Brennan’s mouth at 5:41 where he says “A lot of us have been isolated their whole lives”?
My doctor doesnt believe in this. My doctor believes in wrong attachment.
Jessica Kirson is fucking magnificent!
Hahaha
Hey Tom Segura, the number 9 gives me depression & the number 6 gives me anxiety
That’s how things went with my Psychiatrist too I had to google my meds and connect the dots 😂😂 $200 for a 15 min visit.
I have anxiety and a panic disorder but everything I’m prescribed is for depression 😂
I could do therapy but it sounds like more work so nah
Michael Che-- sweet jaysus. Depression isn't being sad...it is living in absolute freaking darkness where you can't feel anything other than glimpses of despair. Not a white privilege thing--what an ignorant thing to say.
Who the fuck is Jessica Kirson?! That bit was amazing!
I just came across this vid and it's great~~The truth is that most people have some sort of mental disorder weather they know it or not~~But if you went to a therapist or a mental health specialist they are trained to push meds and for insurance purposes they have to write some disorder so they can push meds that make people sicker~~From what I know that people have told me is research the med you are given~~Most people don't realize ya'll are guinea pigs when you are given meds and you feel worse~~Also they lie or strech the truth about your condition to keep you on crazy meds~~Fact~~So be careful and request to see your chart abd what they are writing about you~~
😂😂😂
Studies have shown it do be like that sometimes..
lol
The #1 song White Womans Instagram was the best thing to come from lockdown...
Since it seems like almost everyone has anxiety I think it is a normal thing people just called it an issue and made it a name I’m sure back then thousands of people were like this they just knew it was Normal and didn’t care
I wish I were as strong as others.
Yea i always tell the therapists if i won a Million dollars id be happy so no im not taking meds for depression ive had money before just had the normal problems everyone has
What is Hannah Gadsby doing in that crowd?
Hey don't believe that BS at the end, 69 is fantastic!
Hehe 😄👏❤️
It's actually pronounced Chegis Haan.
Yeah mofos I'm that guy
Going from the black guy talking about slavery and depression, to the white guy talking about peeing in your coworkers pool to get even seems like a interesting editing choice...
