@@kingayy9267 Sounds like the OP is under the impression that his mom immigrated to America by herself for a better life for her family but she married a serviceman which is why she moved here. Even though they got divorced she got alimony and child support, so good job raising a family as a single mom but she didn't do it all herself, she had plenty of financial support.

I grew up with a severely disabled little brother, so I can relate to his feels.
My brother passed away in 2007, he was 3-4 months away from turning 23. I miss him all the time.
I'm greatful to still have 2 more little brothers. They're from my Dad's second marriage, they are 10 (almost to the day he's born 9 years 354 days after me) & 12 years younger than me. Matty was born 4 years after me. So the gap was way closer.

My adopted mother threatened me with, "I'm gonna make sure you're never in a loving home again." Because i had an attitude. (Mind you not, she called me home to do dishes in the middle of me helping my older sister babysit, while there was older kids in the house capable to do it. They were just in bed in their rooms. Also, I had to go get their dishes out of their rooms in the process of it all. Mind you not, same way with other chores like feeding the animals on top of going to school.) I made their lives a living hell apparently and im not good off like they are😅

I would give my dad a card ( handmade) since I was 3 I think every weekend or once a week till I was 10. I buy my dad a gift every month, not ties etc I talk to him a lot, so I know the things he likes 😊he like trains, stamps and antiques. I search for them and get it for him. He has kept everything I ever made or purchased for him. 😢 that’s so sweet! Never knew my cards that I made as a kid was still with him. He’s 70 now 🎉 he loves music, same taste as me, so I downloaded and made him a playlist on his phone, he loves it! Next gift wireless headphones. ( he’s an engineer) a is very much like one, even after he retired. Still does his little projects at home ❤ I love my daddy and my mom too, but I’m a daddy’s girl😊
