My mom called me up this morning to grab a bunch of cucumbers from her garden that she picked for me. They are fresh, crunchy and delicious. She also had some pumpkins and string beans and loads of tomatoes. When your girls are all grown up they'll LOVE it when you give them that call 😊

I'm so excited because I've picked 11.5 pounds of peas (a combination of snow and sugar pod peas grown on a trellis) and 10 pounds of carrots in a just a 4' x 4' area of one of my grow boxes. I've also gotten 4.5 pounds of kohlrabi from a 2' x 4' foot area in another box. (I weigh my berries and veggies after I harvest them.)
My snow pea vines grew 6+ feet tall.
It'll be fun to see how many beets I get from another 2' x 2' area in the box that had the peas and carrots.
Today (August 6) I picked my first purple podded beans.
I've got humongous cantaloupes growing on a trellis along with a few Honeydew melons. My cukes haven't set fruit yet. I've picked zucchini. (I pick them at about 5" long and 1" in diameter so I don't get sick of it.)
It's so much fun to have my own produce section in my backyard "grocery store!"
I've successfully interplanted my veggies with flowers. This is how I found your channel because I wanted to watch videos about how to do this.

Zucchini bread, zucchini casserole, stuffed zucchini, fried zucchini... you name it, if you plant zucchini you have loads. lol The garden looks fantastic! I've been canning green beans once to twice a week for a couple of weeks now, love having those on had for winter, tomatoes and pickles tomorrow.

I absolutely love your garden tour and the love how much your little one loves to pick and eat the raw veggies. My grand babies would love a garden like that, they are all about organic foods and natural things. Thank you so much, take care and happy gardening.

Amaranth is edible. The husk is removed and the seed can be cooked as a rice substitute or can be ground for flour

If the millet grass attracts birds, do you find the birds make a mess in the garden or go after your crops? Or do they just stick the the millet?

  • @meysaeteurn7901

The flavors of the tomatoes could be because of the soil and watering pattern.
