New York Undercover was the best show to air on FOX, the first three seasons were the best. The 4th Season jumped the shark, adding Thomas Mikal Ford was the good thing but when they got rid of the musical performances as well as Natalie’s was the death of the show.
If they hadn't messed with this show it could have ran into the early 2000s or so It's ironic how the tension among the cast and crew really began ... Basically the cast just wanted safer working conditions but their requests were not prioritized

Rest In Power James Mtume and Andre Harrell. those Brothas don't get enough credit for the Soul they put in the first 3 seasons of this show.

I could not miss an episode...until they killed off Eddie and Patty D'arbenville left!! Dick Wolf kinda redeemed himself with SVU with Ice-T and Chicago PD with La Royce Hoskins and Benjamin Levy Aguilar!!
I don't care for cop/dective or lawyer shows but new York undercover is an exception it was a 100 percent urban and hip hop it was less like watching a tv version of new jack city it had the same vibe that the hood movies in the 90s jc and Torres were both young and fine
That show transcended. It’s possible that it had its time, but I hope the cast and crew collaborate on something new with the same everything. Same message, same style, same vibe etc.

I was like this is fly love the actor's chemistry and the music Yoba D'renzo, short version were good together. Eddie shouldn't have been killed off but if they brought it back at least like a short reboot that would be great. now there's nothing to compare to this. NYUC always will be held close. 💯✊🏽💪🏽
NY Undercover was a GREAT show. When they brought on Ice T as Danny Up it just changed the entire feel of the show, especially after he killed Sandy. Fox may not have done everything right with the show but you have to give them credit for even taking a chance with a network drama featuring two men of color as the leads.
It was amazing to have a positive portrayal of Puerto Ricans. We don't get that much. New york Undercover needs a reboot and a Grand theft auto style videogame. Bring the original cast back have it take place between season 2 and 3. 😊

I watch one episode M-F on Peacock. I love it more now than I did then and I didn't think that was possible 🖤🤎. It's awful how undervalued and unappreciated this show and the actors were.
NY Undercover could’ve been great but they screwed it up. The music was the only thing they got right. JC was the stereotypical black dude. Baby mama, light skinned gf, always making racist comments but it’s ok because he’s black lol. The plots and characters were corny AF. The music was the only thing that fit

Fox used black shows (In Living Color, Martin, NYU, Living Single) to expand their network and get the NFL.
Oh they absolutely did. These shows helped build that network into what it is today but got no love at all during awards season or from their own network.
That’s nothing new and it’s still being used til this very day, using Black culture to boost a platform and blacks benefiting none.
