As an English-New Zealander, I was absolutely devastated by Hamilton losing out thanks to a gearbox problem in 2007, and shocked and terrified in the last few laps in 2008 that he was getting unbelievably unlucky again with Kubica aggressively unlapping himself allowing Vettel to overtake, and with the rain not being hard enough until right at the end to justify McLaren's cautious call to bring Lewis in for inters. Toyota *so* nearly ruined Lewis' brilliant season for a second year in a row. But I was ecstatic when "IS THAT GLOCK" happened, it was for me the happiest sporting moment I've ever seen.
However, the dignity with which Felipe carried himself that day touched me deeply. I felt bad for the guy, and I have always been *so* impressed by the way he reacted, with pride, with courage, and with his head held high. I've always loved Felipe since then and thought he was one of the nicest and most sporting guys in F1.

@@sheikhtanvirahmedshajib9239 well thats a little ignorant, both Felipe and Didier Pironi where involved in life changing almost life taking accidents. If Felipe wasn't dedicated he wouldn't have returned to F1 after his accident, which he although he could never manage the heights of pre accident. He continued to multiple podiums and a pole. And after Didier failed to get back into F1 he went into his other passion of professional sailing where he sadly was killed in 1984.
The reason they never challenged again was because their accidents put a cap on their potential.
