- Tim Kennedy shares what is in his EDC during these current times.
"EDC" stands for "Everyday Carry." It refers to the collection of essential items that individuals carry with them on a daily basis to help them navigate through their day-to-day activities. These items typically include tools, accessories, and personal necessities such as keys, wallets, phones, multitools, flashlights, pens, notebooks, and other items that individuals find useful for their daily routines and potential emergency situations. EDC items are chosen based on individual preferences, lifestyle, and practicality, and they often reflect the unique needs and priorities of the carrier.

About Sheepdog Response:
Sheepdog Response was founded by Green Beret, Special Forces, Sniper, and former top 5 UFC Middleweight, Tim Kennedy. Tim was also the co-star of Hunting Hitler on the History Channel, and more recently, Hard To Kill, on the Discovery Channel.
People face threats of violence every day, ranging from large-scale terrorism to one-on-one assaults. Most people are unprepared, unequipped, and untrained to respond effectively. This weakness in the flock allows the wolves to attack with great ease and success.
The answer is not more laws. The wolves don’t follow them. We must give the good guys the tools they need to effectively respond to violence. The more Sheepdogs we can train to be truly ready to respond to a mass shooting, terrorist attack, violent mugging or home invasion, the better the chances are that the bad guys will get what they deserve and the good guys will survive. Most people sign up for martial arts or weapons training expecting to learn realistic self-defense, and few get it…
We have developed a curriculum that addresses the skills you need to successfully respond to threats
Finally! Someone with a realistic approach to their EDC....I absolutely hate the clickbait thumbnails, with every bit of gear under the sun, for "everyday" carry.
Oh you don’t carry two spare mags, with a backup gun with two spare mags for that? Spare knife for your knife? Light and spare light? I guess you don’t like being prepared.
I don’t carry a lot but I get it. It’s a hobby and it’s fun for dudes to geek out on it. That being said. The guys that carry too much and pretend anything less is being irresponsible are incredibly annoying. I would consider being able to run away, pick up kids or hide more important than carrying 3 extra mags and your pockets full of shit.
would love your thoughts on my latest edc vid (short)
I remember an old James Yeager vid where he was talking Abt his edc included a Glock 26 with tourniquets strapped to each ankle and I'm like.....dude if you're in THAT bad a situation you should've had a damn backpack of gear on you
That tourniquet is dog shit
I think that's the best edc video I've ever seen. Not surprised that it came from Tim Kennedy
Thanks for the realistic advise Tim.
*advice
That's the coolest man purse I've seen in a long time
Thx. Same same here. I agree that most is overkill. Much more important is that you are capable uf using the the tools you have instead of having them all.
What's the bag. Looks functiona.
Thx again Tim.
Stay safe and sharp.
Sheepdog Response Low Viz Waist Pack
Loved the low-viz ranger green. Had pistol, extra mag (17 rd), knife, keys, wallet, phone, sm flashlight, TMT & some gauze in the bag. Sad thing is not all the fanny packs are same version.
The realistic EDC. Love it.
Similar EDC here. I also carry a small plastic pill carrier (for pain/allergies), a Leatherman Free T4 (great USA-made pocket tool) and a small Victorinox knife with the nail clippers (comes in handy more than you think). Sometimes I’ll carry a small flashlight and a tactical pen. Jeans with extra pockets (5.11) help.
Loved the simplicity.
I'm a dork. I carry a Leatherman and a flashlight with the other minimums. But I use them everyday.
Same
Flashlight and multitool are the most used items.
Flashlight. My cell phone just just isn’t as bright or as convenient. Folding blade for me , 3” blade length max. Watch, gatorz, wallet, sig p365, official ID or CCW permit. Keys. Brain.
I agree so much with this, only carry what you will carry everyday. Only thing I will add is this thought. I do carry a flashlight everyday. Had to pickup paperwork inside County Courthouse yesterday, that flashlight was only thing I had left as a offensive/defensive tool because of security checkpoint. Something is better than nothing!
ok jason bourne hahaha
I like it, it’s going to make me so much more mobile. Appendix carrying my AR pistol is quite the process.
Good perspective. For me it's pistol, POM, microstream, wallet, keys, phone. Everything else is optional.
I feel like everyone leaves out the everyday out of EDC, and that’s the most important in my opinion than the gear that you carry. Good video. Similar to what I carry
I thought it was, "If you have pockets, fill 'em." Great video. Thank you.
I live where we have plenty of woods carry a ssmr920 with a holosun pid and acss vulca optic. Kershaw knive. Spare horizontal mag carrier on my belt as well.
Thank you for a simple no BS approach. Wallet, keys, cellphone, knife, gun. If you need more maybe you need to not go there if possible lol I have and extra magazine, expandable baton, brass knuckles, stun gun in my car. I also have OC spray on my key chain. I carry like him and keep a literal extra in the car just in case but if my car was broken into and those items taken I won’t feel too bad.
Personally I always have the 3.
Gun, knife and flash light.
The idea of “I’ll only be gone for a few hours” is a faulty one. We’ve all had that plan and a few hours turns into all day. I use a stiletto pro, it’s slim and super bright.
Same. Always have gun knife and flashlight. Realistically, theyre all small enough that it's not cumbersome. That's all that matters.
I picked up the low viz waist pack after seeing this video. I’m a big dude, I had to make myself an extension for the strap because it’s not “big man approved”. I love the mindset here of EDC. Simple and effective.
I keep a multitool on my left hip and small pocket knife in my right pocket. Like a Civivi Mini Praxis. I really couldn’t care about the blade on the multitool. I use my multitool and my flashlight quite a lot. I’m forever having to look under the couch for a kids toy or put something together for the kids.
I love it keeping it simple
After hearing the Vince Ricci story an extra mag is always good to have no matter where you go. Wasn’t he just coming back from the gym or coffee shop? I’m sure he was thinking he won’t be out for long but then found himself in back of his car with no ammo not knowing what’s on the other side. An extra mag takes up no space if you run a holster with an attached mag carrier.
At a maximum! Small back pack (mystery ranch) with level 3a insert, pistol of choice with 2 extra mags, small bad guy spray and an IFAK! At a minimum, pistol of choice with one mag , flashlight And a tourniquet! Just depends on distance from home and visiting environment!
Thank you
I thought EDC was the rave festival ! Every Day Carry I like this !
Thanks Tim for putting together this video. Would you recommend a fixed blade? Do you have a good recommendation for a belt that is good when you carry?
Might be the best edc video I’ve seen! Lol
Shameless plug that I don’t get paid for, but I ditched the flashlight and bought a Garmin instinct watch with the flashlight built-in. It works awesome and eliminates the need for an additional flashlight, although I do still carry a flashlight at night as a back up.
"I spent a bunch of money for a gimmick watch with a light, but I still carry a light, in case the gimmick fails." LOL.
Tongue in cheek, but that's funny. Then again, when it comes to lights" 2 is 1 and 1 is none."
I always carry a small flashlight it’s come in handy way more than my gun and knife in day to day life.
Especially when you can get a 1,000 lumen flashlight the size of your thumb. It would be stupid not to carry it.
@@gregshock I think mine is 500 I did have one that was too bright and if you used it up close the light bounce back could temporarily blind🤣
Pretty similar. I like some reduncancy, so I have a tiny flashlight on my keychain, and a lighter, and a little telescoping pen that gets a surprising amount of usage. I keep a little cash tucked in my phone case, and a picture of my license saved on it (cops sometimes accept that if you forget your wallet). And I usually have a tiny multitool, which I use a lot. Then of course my pew and pocket knife. But between that, I have essentially 6 things to remember, and redundancies in case I forget or lose one. But all of that gets used; it's not just crap I carry for no reason.
Mine changes daily as well. I work with trains. Some days it’s ok and some days are in bad areas. If I know, I’m changing what I may need.
I’m so glad more & more people are using Fanny packs to conceal carry & carry other small items since you can put it on your waist or across your chest 🤟🏾
Good to see someone else carrying a RAT tourniquet. After I bought one I heard some people say they kill the limb faster. I don't know how they can prove that, but at the end of the day it stops bleeding...
Well said
Glock 19 with a Benchmade blade. Is my minimum EDC. My "get home bag" has the extras like my IFAK, Mags, batteries, light, life straw, FD food.. live in you can't get here from there WV so load out is different
"Only gone for a couple of hours" sounds like Blackhawk down. Flashlight is a must. Doesn't have to be a big tactical one. A simple AAA flashlight can be a life saver. No reason not to have one in the bag at least.
I love that he includes a pocket constitution
Tim you're a national treasure brother love everything you do and have done you're a true real hero thanks!🇺🇲💪
For me cause I work as a electrician so I usually have pants on I carry my wallet, a bandana, pen, pocket knife, multitool, lighter and a flashlight. I’m not old enough to conceal carry but when I do I’ll carry that and a spare mag.
Bic lighter, water container (even if it's empty), emergency blanket (you may not need it for yourself but if someone else needs to get/stay warm), flashlight (underrated weapon), multi-tool and medical kit, the most complete one you can carry without it being in your way!
Hey tim! thanks for this vid! which holster are you using?
Yeah, I would like to know also
I always carry a super powerful flashlight like a nitecore p20ix and pepper spray in addition to my pistol. Those can solve alot of problems before they begin.
Can you do an EDC for when you’re in Canada? I’d be interested to see if theres something you’d swap the pistol and mags for.
Thinking about trying to keep up with 2 wallets just blows my mind!
The flashlight is not only for night time. It is also for dark spaces like behind furniture or under a table. So you should always have one.
Agreed, I carry a small streamlight flashlight and use it every day. The second most used is a swiss army knife. Honestly I feel naked traveling without them. I really need to get comfortable with a pistol / holster choice as I haven't found the right combination that feels natural yet.
I DEFINITELY use my flashlight more than the key to my wife’s car.
My EDC is very similar except I use a Viktos sling bag.
Do you know what brand of bag that is that Tim carries? I love the phone pocket on the back as part of the organization.
It’s the Sheepdog low viz waist pack
May I suggest a SWAT-T instead of what looks like a RAT (painful). Also, an OC. In the Fed agency I retired from it was a lower level of force than hands on. I used it successfully a number of times &, although not perfect, it’s better than any other less than lethal.
Would love to see a video of him drawing from his EDC
Yep, grip isn’t an inch above his belt line. Useless.. (sarcasm)
I carry, my keys, full size SAR9 with 15rnds, wallet, phone, nicotine vape, dog collar and dog usually. I am extremely careful where I go. Especially with that load out.
Flashlight is a must....it isnt just for when its dark outside. I use mine so often, that I can imagine being without it.
Absolutely. You can get a 1,000 lumen flashlight the size of your thumb. So easy to carry.
What is a good flash light??
@@beasty_b6967 I like My Streamlight Protac. Have never let me down!
@@beasty_b6967olight baton
What is the knife you pulled out of your appendix carry?
I live in CA, so I'm not carrying a firearm every day. That said, I usually run:
keys (with flashlight keychain), phone, wallet, knife, pen, hank and chapstick. Watch on the wrist. I use all pieces damn near every day.
You "run" a phone, wallet, pen, and chapstick? Wow, so tactical. SHEEPDAWG
@@joeaardvark9214 Tacticool, sir. Tacticool. And lol - run, carry, whatever. Choose your synonym.
You know, when you were reading the second amendment I didn’t hear anything about age restrictions 🤔
He must not have read the portion that spelled out restrictions or disqualifiers. Maybe next video
What is the make/model of the bag? THX
Tim, what spike are you using for a stabby implement? Looks good for a future addition.
What was it???
I've been doing some digging and seems like the best search for it online is "Ice pick with belt sheath". I've found a few on Etsy that are pretty similar. Not exact, but close. Hope that helps!
Work vs personal wallet? Can you explain further please?
I base what I carry on distance from home and area I might be in.
I used to not understand carrying a flashlight now I hate when I forget it because I use it so much
Every day. Same Same
Thoughts of key fobs for keyless entry and push to start cars? In CA, they say put them in RFID sleeves or cookie tins and away from the house entry door or mininum 20ft from your car. Thieves with this antenna thingy, clone the fob and steal cars without the fob.
Tim what is the st@bbytool you have there? I need that for testing apples of course. Thank you in advance.
I think you’re carrying a RATS tourniquet, would highly suggested switching to a CAT-T as they’re more widely recommended by EMS.
Tim, you were actually one of the best MMA fighters on the planet at one point! Surely, you could not beat them all back in the day, but you could probably kill them all in a single combat even today. You can certainly outshoot and probably outknife everyone in the UFC, and in a combat between bare fists versus gun/knife, given the level of user ability is similar, the winner is obvious. That's what proper military training gives you - an edge which allow you to overcome everyone, if your life depends on it. Tim, I've followed you for many, many years and wish you all the best!
Is that a Bullsheath Leather wallet? I love the one I have?
Whats the knife there?
I want to know what knife that was to lol
Looked like an icepick but idk it was pretty nifty the way it was drawn
Montana knife company
Maybe bench made dagger?
I carry a folding knife, keys, zippo lighter, comb, spare change, a belt for my pants and my wallet in my pants pockets. In my wallet I carry a spare key, small screw driver that is amall enough to adjust pistol/revolver sights and a shotgun choke tube wrench in a plastic hunting license carrying case. I don't carry much else other than a pocket comb and some change in another pants pocket. A cell phone but not in a pocket unless I'm going somewhere.
work days are little different than out days, but pretty close.......ll about where im going and what im doing.
The irony of him reading the 2a 😂
I would be interested in learning more about that icepick/spike he carries. I don't have enough knowledge to make an informed comment, but I would assume that an icepick would create very different wounds compared to a fighting knife, push dagger (my current defensive blade choice), etc. I'm curious about the pros and cons and how you would use the icepick. I suppose it would be good at organ piercing. I didn't find much in a youtube search.
Had the same thought. I would assume that movements to inflect pain with an ice pick vs a blade would similar the difference between a jab and a hook. I’m going down the google search abyss now 😅
I’ll carry cellphone, keys, wallet, a pocket knife and firearm on person. I have a small chest sling like your fannypack. And in there I just carry a TQ, Quikclot combat gauze and a small pouch that contains some bandaids, a flashlight, a Swiss Army knife like multitool, a notepad and pen and then lastly a small connectivity thing with a charging cord that I can use to charge a device that is just more compact and light than any battery pack. That’s it. It seems like a lot writing it out, but it’s really nothing big, or heavy. Just things I could legitimately use.
Any idea what that knife is? Looks like a tactical ice pick or awl.
What bag is that? I need something simpler and low profile.
I neeeeed to know what type of knife that was because this whole video was a 10/10 😮💨😮💨😮💨😮💨
what was the gun & the knife?
Perfectly said ! My dude . Tac guys , don’t forget the blade! A lot of guys now are so sold on the pew pew. While that is the star of the show you also need a good blade. If not 2! A self defense/fixed blade and or folder for utility. Don’t forget your blades boys! Real men carry a knife every day. Nuff said!
Bare minimum is the way to go depending on your location. Some people gear up like their going to battle with MS13.
I agree with the KISS principle but I think the extra mag is more for a malfunction scenario than extra ammo🤷♂️
Does anybody know what the bag is. Would be helpful. Thx y'all
Stay safe and sharp
I agree, what’s the bag? (If anyone knows)
I’ve been using that fanny pack for over two years. G17 all day 🤙🏻
@timkennedy what is your EDC firearm ??
hey whats that double bit axe on your wall who makes that
What is the name of that “stabby” accessory you got there ?
I want the stabby but I can't find where to get one...
I think that snack Pack should be a part of the EDC
That double bladed war axe should be highly considered for EDC.
What gun and holster does he use? I've had some trouble getting my g19 that bag
Exactly it looked like it fit him perfectly
Looked like a Sig P365 of some sort
I remember when Mr. Sheepdawg Tim Kennedy. went to HKIA for no other reason than photo ops, and then he took it upon himself to load up five buses with random bums that were sitting outside the gates looking for handouts and brought them inside the wire, and then all the Marines had to sort through them and get rid of them all again.
What is you edc pistol of choice
Who makes that bag?
Glad to see him finally read the second amendment out loud. Especially that pesky old “shall not be infringed“ part. It’s refreshing considering his previous statements on gun “control“ that he had to “clarify“.
If i am going to a sketch area?….anything can happen anywhere at any time….at least here in South Africa…carry those mags and flashlight all the time
was that a good old G43?
Not having a flashlight with is a no go for me, I use mine daily
So you don’t carry NVGs everywhere you go?
What tourniquet is that? Or is it a dog leash improv? Totally being serious. I’ve only recently become aware of tourniquets. Thank you!
It’s called the RATS tourniquets
Here is the link for the Tourniquet sheepdogresponse.com/products/tourniquet-w-carrier?pr_prod_strat=e5_desc&pr_rec_id=3bb439d20&pr_rec_pid=7513335529705&pr_ref_pid=7513347719401&pr_seq=uniform
@@SheepdogResponse that is clearly not the same tourniquet that’s in the video…
It is not the same, but the TMT (the Sheepdog link) is an outstanding TQ. I have replaced all 3 of mine with this brand and are much better than the others I have carried and practiced with. @@haroldrosales6576
What tourniquet is that?
Yep
I edc 3 pistols with 3 extended mags for each. I carry 4 tourniquets for each limb. I carry a home made defibrillator. I carry 2 knives and a mini fishing pole. I carry a flashlight and a leatherman. I carry a toothpick and my edc bag is a 32” savior bag with my MCX in it with a can on it. Sumn practical 😂
How about some polished copper or Brass parts for 1911 any ideas barrels.
