Brazil family travel vlog - Rio de Janeiro and Iguassu Falls

- In March 2023, we took a long-awaited trip to Brazil. We spent the first half of the trip in Rio de Janeiro, seeing Copacabana and Ipanema beaches, the Selaron steps, Corcovado, Sugarloaf Mountain, and Maracana stadium. For the second part of our trip, we traveled to Iguassu Falls, which we saw from both the Brazil and Argentina sides. It was a great trip and we hope to get back to see more of Brazil someday.

It's funny to see Gringos who traveled to Rio, São Paulo and Salvador say they traveled to Brazil. Brazil is a giant country, they didn't know the South, nor the North, nor the West and they didn't know the Northeast either. But they give travel tips about Brazil. Know that Brazil is much more than what you saw 😅

So funny to see the Brazilian big lizard (called, “Teiú , in Guarani indigenous language, scientifc name, Tupinambis merianae) and the Quatis (a kind of Racoon or Guaximim)! They are the best, and they loved you all, they were close to you!😄

In addition to the Amazon and the city of Rio de Janeiro, there are other places here in Brazil that deserve to receive more tourists. Example: Lençóis Maranhenses, Serra Gaúcha, the beaches of the northeast, Salvador, Ouro Preto, Tiradentes, Arraial do Cabo, Paraty, Beto Carrero World, Bombinhas, Urubici, Jalapão, Bonito, Chapada dos Veaderos, São Luís do Maranhão, Rio Quente Resort , Beach Park, Fernando de Noronha, Alter do Chão, Chapada dos Guimarães, São Joaquim, Urupema, Monte Roraima, Petrópolis, Visconde de Mauá, Serra dos Órgãos, Penedo, Campos do Jordão, Holambra, Paranapiacaba, Nova Friburgo, Búzios, Angra dos Reis, Cabo Frio, Ilha Grande, Florianópolis, Salto do Yucumã, Cambará do Sul...
It is trully an amazing country and I, being a brazilian, feel so happy for you and your family being able to live this experience... Next time try to go to the Amazon, another expectacular place to visit, all the best and God bless...

Carrie you can try to get at Cristo earlier. At the hotel they can give you the contact of a van that can transport people at 5 am - 6 am. So there is no crowd :D. A tip from a carioca.

Super great video and ( copacabana beach in rio de janeiro, brazil is great where there is classico beach club and the sheraton grand rio hotel and resort and in brazil they love to eat baja sauce nick name texas pete hot sauce and in brazil they have great street party's) and ( i have international hidden beachfront resort casinos all around the world)

Stumbled across this video. I really enjoyed it! I would love to go to a game when I visit later this month but am concerned on the safest way to get home from a night game at the Maracana. Any tips? I am staying in Copa a block from the beach.
Thank you! We wound up going to the game with an agency called “Follow Me Brazilian Football Experience”. You can find them on Instagram at @followmebrxp. They picked us up at our hotel at Copacabana, provided the tickets to the game, escorted us into the stadium and let us know where we could sit (seating was open within a certain section). We met them after the match at a location inside the stadium and they escorted us a few blocks to where the shuttle was waiting to return us to our hotel. There were probably about 15 in our group in total. It was a much easier option for us than trying to navigate the streets or subway system on our own. Hope that helps!

How did you book a boat in Igausu? Did you do it ahead of time?
There's no need to book these boats ahead of time (in fact, I'm not even sure if they do take reservations). There's a continuous loop of vehicles driving guests down to the boat dock and a boat leaves every 20 minutes or so. I'd say wait for a good weather day and then just show up.
whats gear used?
Most filming done with a Sony RX100 vii - plus a GoPro (I think it’s a Hero7) and a few shots on iPhone.

Sure, happy to help. Our itinerary was pretty simple - 4 nights in Rio at Porto Bay, one night in Iguassu Falls outside the national park and then three nights at the Belmond Cataratas inside the park. Let me know if you have any other questions.
Did you take any organized tours or did you do everything yourself? Did you at anytime feel unsafe in Rio? I’m feeling a bit nervous as I’m hearing stories about how dangerous it can be. Thank you!
Did it rain at all in Rio?
We had a good downpour the night we went to the dance show - other than that we stayed dry.
Don't go FLAMENGO vs VASCO never if you not brazilian.
If it was against Botafogo FC your experience would be better.Haha
