  • IGUAZU FALLS ARGENTINIAN & BRAZILIAN SIDE - HOW TO SEE IT ALL!
    In this video we leave Buenos Aires on an 18 hour overnight bus and head to the North of Argentina to explore the famous Iguazu Falls. We spent a few days in Puerto Iguazu which was incredibly hot, much hotter than Buenos Aires and a lot more humid too. We ventured out in the heat to explore the stunning waterfalls within the national park and spent a few days on the Argentinian side before making our way across the border to see the falls from the Brazilian side. The experience of both was awesome and we honestly loved them both.
    We saw so much wildlife and even saw animals that we had never seen in our lives walking right by us out in the wild which was a truly awesome experience, we felt so lucky to be there, also felt lucky to keep hold of our lunch as some cheeky monkeys were out to grab tourists lunch!
    If you’re planning a trip to Iguazu and have time then we would recommend doing both the Argentinian and Brazilian side but if you are short on time then our advice would be to just do a day on the Argentinian side, here’s why: 80% of the waterfalls are on this side, there are more things included on this side and it’s less expensive inside the park (free water top ups everywhere in the park unlike the Brazilian side), seeing Devils Throat/Garganta Del Diablo is much more of an experience on the Argentinian side because you can get up close and feel the spray from it. The Brazilian side has it’s own benefits and does have a really great view of the falls so both is best if you have time.
    After three days walking around in high humidity and heat we decided that was enough of the North of Argentina and made our way back on another long distance bus ready for some cooler adventures in the South!

    Thanks for the video! It helped me plan my trip. I visited both sides last week (Feb 29-Mar 2 2024). Entrance fee at the Argentinian side was 20,000 pesos (~21 USD) - it can be paid by Visa/Mastercard/American Express or cash. "Garganta del Diablo" (Devil's Throat) is closed since 3 months ago - there was an overflow and they need time to repair the walkways. Brazilian side costs 100 Reals (also ~21 USD) and it can be paid in cash on a booth or using machines if you prefer cards. And speedboat trip at the Argentinian side cost me ~62 USD.

    Perfect place for me. I love waterfalls. Smart to bring your food and water bottles. If you ever want to see armadillos there are plenty in Florida where I am from. Amazing to see so much water. It is super busy. Argentina must be awesome! Hello Brazil! it is beautiful along the trail. The Upper and Lower falls are both spectacular. Wow! Love that you go to Brazil. This is unreal! I love powerboats! Wow, you have never had sugar cane before? I love it. How exciting! Whoooo!! Fantastic!

      We have had a few Florida trips and seen a lot of animals but never an Armadillo there, they're so quiet and chilled! Argentina has been a really cool place to travel it feels like so many countries in one! Yep first time chewing on a sugar cane, we had sugar cane drinks made on the beach in Zanzibar years ago but never just casually chewed on sugar cane, it was so good!

I would love to do that!

    I still find it wild that there are the official and unofficial costs for things. This looks like an epic day - you'd definitely need the full day to see this all and even maybe multiple days to really enjoy it and take your time. The view from the Brazilian side was beautiful! But no matter where you go there it looks beautiful. The monkeys where so cute. The powerboat looked so refreshing - but I don't think I'd get my hubby to do that unless we had a change of clothes with us - Kirsty looked like she got the most of the water!

If I am someone who is subject to sea sickness on the open ocean, do you think I’d have trouble on the boat in the rapids? 2. I know they give you waterproof bags for your phone and camera. Does the boat stop at least a few times so that you can take your phone out and safely film without destroying your phone? Thank you!

      It's quite difficult to do anything like that online in this part of the world (even booking park entry tickets online in Argentina was not possible during our visit). For boats you just arrive at the park and book at the booths for a time that suits you.

Highly recommend Gustavo!

    Hello, I am going to Iguazu falls soon. Could you advise whats the best way to get entrance tickets to the National Park. Can I still buy them on site or need to book them via the website? I tried the official website but it seems that it doesnt accept my UK debit card :(

    • @TideKnotTravellers
      @TideKnotTravellers  Před 2 lety +4

      Don't worry it's not your UK card. We tried 3 different cards (2 UK, 1 international) and spent a long time filling that online form out and each time it lets you go all the way through it and fails at the end (guessing that's what you had too). They stopped selling the tickets online but for some reason they didn't update their website to let anyone know. We went out to ask at a local hostel in Puerto Iguazu after spending ages trying to get our tickets online. We explain the best way to get tickets in the first few mins of the video (easier to show it than type😅) you'll have an awesome time, it's an incredible place!

    • @bosteroxeneize9906
      @bosteroxeneize9906 Před 2 lety +6

      You have to come to Argentina with dollars in cash, it's the best. The entrance of the national parks you go and take the ticket in the place, the same with the excursions. You can left most of the money in the hotel, you can also carry it in a backpack belt inside your clothes, those that are not noticeable. It is a safe country, and there in Iguazu, very safe. On a trip I made, I met an Englishman who also had problems with his credit card and that was about two years ago, it seems that there is some kind of problem. I am from Buenos Aires but I have traveled 3 times throughout my country, feel free to consult me for anything. Don't be afraid to exchange money on the street. There are no problems with the police neither thief.

  • @diegolargo8131

    Why didn't they do the boat ride from the Argentine side? It's much better than the Brazilian side since they can get closer to the San Martin waterfall and other waterfalls that they can't from the Brazilian side. In fact, the waterfalls that are approached from the Brazilian boat are Argentine. Something with which a formal complaint was filed, since Brazilians do tourism with something of ours (Argentina)

    • @TideKnotTravellers

      We tried to book both days on the Argentinian side but sadly they only had a few slots each day and got booked up very quickly. It’s a shame as we sort of thought exactly what you said that the falls are on the Argentinian side. Also we did feel the Brazilian side was very overpriced and although we did enjoy the boat ride if you look at 27:46 you’ll notice just how much they were focused on getting their own marketing shots with their GoPro rather than actually ensuring a good time for their current paying customers 😬

      We haven’t visited Niagra Falls yet but Iguazu being in the tropics meant that as well as the waterfalls, walking around the parks were filled with so much interesting wildlife which for us really added to the experience. The waterfalls especially Garganta Del Diablo (Devil’s throat) was incredible to see up close.

      _Upon seeing Iguazu, the United States First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt reportedly exclaimed, "Poor Niagara!"_
      Niagara Falls is the collective name for three waterfalls. On the other hand, the Iguazu Falls comprises of several hundred big and small waterfalls along 2 miles of Iguazu river.
      The tallest waterfall at Iguazu Falls is called ‘Devil’s Throat’ and it has a drop of 269 ft (82 meters). The Niagara Falls, on the other hand, has a maximum drop of 167 ft (51 meters). Which means Iguazu Falls (Devil’s Throat) is taller than Niagara Falls by almost 100 ft.
