- Join us in our S Type Jaguar as we travel an 800 kilometre round trip from The Murray River in the North of Victoria Australia to Apollo Bay on the Great Ocean Road. Find out on the way why time will see the S Type eclipse other Jaguars of its era, to become the most desirable future classic. #australia #adventure #greatoceanroad #Appollobay #kerang #jaguar #jaguarcars #jaguarstype #jaguarxk #jaguarxk8 #jaguarxkr #travelvlog #motorvlog
Sometimes I also have a feeling that I'm driving an electric car. Jaguar engineers really know how to build smooth and quiet engines.
Thanks for watching, I caught a few of your videos. They're a great reference.
@@handcraftedhooligans9962 Thank you, I enjoy both watching and filming videos about Jaguars. Good luck to your Jag!
Agree
I am so happy I bought one recently. I have driven many cars including cars like Porsche Panamera or Audi SQ7 but S-Type is simply the best car I have ever driven. The feeling you have in this luxury living room on wheels is indescribable and I highly recommend it!
I think part of the reason why it is so good is that it offers so much more drivers space than other jaguars of the same era. Space is luxury!
Really enjoyable video. I’m an S type owner (2.5) and agree with all the points you make. It’s such a great driving experience and a really relaxing place to be.
I also enjoyed your shots of driving in Australia. I’d love to come out again soon. Great place to drive the S type for long distances!
Thanks, keep an eye out for more coming up
The factory where they were built (castle Bromwich Birmingham uk) is where they built the spitfire plane in the old days. The traffic island outside the jaguar plant is Called spitfire island.
Hi there from freezing UK. I have the V8 and yes its all you say. The adventure starts with the moment the doors close. Mine is a 2006 28K mint example re imported from South Africa and looked after. Expensive though when you hit a pot hole on our narrow crowded roads. Enjoyed the vid ; keep wafting along in the Jaaaaaag.
Thanks Nicholas. Keep watching for more Australian rural content. It may warm you up a bit.
I agree i love my 2001 stype 4.0 just painted it and love to drrive it on weekends here in Texas. Smooth drive, comfortable and nice passing power. Ty for the video
I’ve a manual 3 litre S Type and it’s fantastic. Especially considering that I paid £175.00 for it from a front garden. It was an MOT failure but the garage had lied. It only needed a sidelight bulb. I used it for a trip to Tuscany and back and it didn’t miss a beat. They’ll have to prise the keys from my cold dead fingers 😂.
How's it been? I just bought one
@@Jag-leaper a marvellous car. I wouldn’t be without it.
@@clivejefferson After a week those are my feelings.....truly...a "friend" of mine Tried to tell me this was no good and just a "flip car"
..........we are no longer friends
@@Jag-leaper I was going to say to tell him to f*ck *ff 😂
Hi. We had a 1996 XK8 a few years back and loved it. Bought a 2007 S-Type 3.0 a couple of months ago and really loving this one too. Totally agree about the similar 'feel' inside. Looking forward to every kilometre in this LOVELY car - it's my daily. We're in NZ.
Good to hear!
Great video Mark and well said! As you know we agree, that’s why we have our own S-Type R in our private collection… Keep on Jaguaring!
Thanks Lou, Best car I've ever owned.
I have a '99 4.0 with sunroof in Pacific blue.
50k miles.
Geoff Lawson was spot on.
Ian Callum messed it up a little.
4.0 is similar fuel as 3.0. Can't think why you wouldn't love it.
Expansion tank is obsolete and very weak.
I couldn't agree more with your remarks. I owned a 3 litre S-type here in England for about 5 years and sold it about 18 months in favour of an XE. Whilst I enjoy the XE, I really miss my S-Type and so I am looking for another to keep the XE company, At that point I will be a happy chap. Whilst I can see that the larger engine would be a good alternative in Australia, I will keep to the 3 litre. Nice video.
Thanks let us know when you get your new one. Send a pic
@@handcraftedhooligans9962 I now have the car - a 2002 3ltre with just one previous owner and garaged all of its life, I would send a pic if I knew how through this medium
I enjoyed your take on the S Type Jag from someone living in Australia - where the local shops are probably 200 kms away ? ... I have the 2.5 V6 in England and I never get a chance to take it out on a long run - and for me that would be about 60 miles - or 100 kilometres !! ....
Thanks Daniel. We regularly do 600k round trips in a day. The jag loves them
Hi ım 2006 s type owner too and love it!! my question is 2.7tdv6 version is avaible in australia ?
I believe it was.
given the choice you would take XJ over S-Type, and probably even XK
Love my 01 Jag...But finding and replacing cosmetics is a pain.😢
You really over did it with the music. It's so loud and obnoxious. Good commentary tho
Man, you need a mic
I have a nice S type R in London. Nowhere to drive it though. I’ll try taking it to Scotland or Germany to stretch its legs.
I hope you do get to take it Scotland or Germany soon. Yu will love it. Great cars for open roads! Drop it into sports mode and use the J gate. They're quick!
@@handcraftedhooligans9962 I will, thanks. It’s in the garage right now because I’m only getting 12 miles to a gallon no matter how economically I drive. I’m hoping there’s a leak somewhere. or that the lean mix issue I had is still the problem. otherwise I just can’t afford it.
The only Ford to achieve a desirable status was the model T, this is consigned to the dustbin, also tin.!
Bit harsh mate. Im a ford man from way back and can assure you there is very little about an S type in common with any ford. The s type is far superior in ride handling and performance to any luxury ford I have owned.
how can that be its a Mondeo underpinning a nice design.
The s type is based on lincoln platform. Not Mondeo. Drive an s type and you will see its a far superior car to any ford
I doubt, that the S-Type will be the most desirable car within the Jaguar range. Looking at the asking prices (Europe), the depreciación of the e.g. S-Type R 4,2 is enormous. In 2002 the basic new price was ~75'000 €. Nowadays you can easily find an S-Type R for roughly 10% of the new price! Cheers
Sorry mate, i have an 2005 XJ, way better than S type. the XJ is what the term grace, space, and pace was invented for
Less Grace. No car can natch the graceful unique styling of the stype
