Mike, you’re such a good boss. I remember one of your videos back in 2016, your mom didn’t want to be in your video but 2yrs later, she doesn’t mind. I’ve been a huge fan of you since Great Wall Of China. I was really sad that you left GWOC and was heartbroken when Dan ditched you and went back to GWOC. But I’m super proud that you didn’t give up and continue making videos that you believe in it. Keep up the good work and do hope someday you will get your own tv show. Happy belated Lunar New Year.

We did Lunar New Year at our local Thai Budhist Temple this year. Was so special to be able to ring the bell, and go home with oranges! And the Lion Dance was exceptional. It was extra special hearing all the prayers and smelling the incense. It all reminded me of all the fun times we had at Lunar New Year when I was a kid :)

I wanna thank you for inviting us to your New Year's dinner. I just saw a Vice weekday show where they followed a Chinese family where the parents worked all year in sweatshops in Shenzen - 40 hours by train from their village. The kids were raised by the grandparents and barely knew the parents. Their spread was pretty thin compared to yours. No rice was allowed, just noodles and dumplings the family prepared together along with a little hotpot action.
It made me feel so privileged, and especially privileged that you brought us along to your celebration. I bow deeply in gratitude for the honor.

This is a pretty nostalgic watch for me, I used to get up at 4am every morning on Chinese new year to help my mum cook pork, fish, beef and chicken. We'd then offer some of the food and incense to our ancestors before eating, I miss those days. Happy year of the dog Mike!

Arthur, great suggestion. Sometimes he has so many dishes it’s hard to keep track, or he doesn’t say the name because he’s enjoying the meal so much. And, if we visit the restaurant we’d know what we might want to try.

I wish America had a food culture that wasn't trash, corn, or sucrose. Other cultures have amazing food traditions with food made from great ingredients, and with love. Videos like this have really opened my eyes to it. I grew up on a neighborhood full of different cultures. So I had the experience of enjoying these things as a kid.
America has an amazing food culture, don't kid yourself. You have to cook for yourself to find it.

Anna Inspain Yep, America has several food cultures within its boundaries (e.g. Southern, Soul, New England, Amish, Texan style amongst others). Unfortunately, far too many people think fast or pre-packaged food represents the culture.
