    Great video.
    Instead of going with paid ads that are probably botted, I got door hangers from vista print for $100. I think it was 5,000 so I can hit any neighborhood when I want to get business and control my territory much better than online. I have to charge much more if I am wasting 30 minutes in traffic both ways.

    Do you charge by the hour or do you offer a flat rate? How do you bill for extras like broken hoses, plastic clips, gasket sealer, hose clamps etc...? How do you handle the Craigslist "low-ballers"?? Great video!😀👍

      I charge per job (quote). I always include a $10 fee in the quote for extras (rtv, paper towels, brake cleaner grease etc.). Low ballers: when clients call me I send them a quote to replace the part they are calling me about. If they don't like the quote and they want me to do it for less, I just politely tell them to look for someone else and if they need something else in the future they have my phone number.

    What do you charge for each diagnose. Also if you are using an obd scanner (expensive scanner) do you have different pricing for just pulling codes versus doing a live data full scan checking all the sensors, injectors, airflow etc????plz and thank you

    • @WrenchLink
      @WrenchLink  Před 2 lety +1

      I charge $100 plus taxes for 1 hour of diagnosis. I can usually find the problem within an hour but if it's one of those problems that take more time to find or I have to remove a part to be able to be 100% sure that that's the issue then I ask the client for another hour or I give them a quote on the labor to remove that part. I let them know about that before I start diagnosing the car.
      I don't have a different pricing about pulling out codes or live Data because the scan tool doesn't tell me exactly what part to replace, it just points to the problem. The scanner is just one tool that I use to diagnose an issue so I don't charge to just scan codes

    Thanks for the video. So do you go out to every call and write up a quote on site?
    Do you charge a diagnostic fee if they don’t want to do the job? Do you add it into the job or separate it as it’s own bill? Do you print up a contract or email them and have them sign before you do any work? These are questions I’m confused about

    • @WrenchLink
      @WrenchLink  Před 2 lety

      No contract. I don't go out to give a quote I use Mitchell on Demand for that and I do charge a diagnosis fee if they decide to not do the job
