I wanna tell you something...I saw RJD 4 times in my life. Twice when he was on top (Tower theater and Spectrum both sold out shows) and twice in a local club after he was on top..BUT at every show he gave the same 110% of himself! And I mean that. He REALLY wanted to entertain at an extremely high level. He strived for perfection and achieved it!! R.I.P Ronnie
seen Dio at the Spectrum a couple times but never the Tower....TheTower was a great small venue in shitty ass Upper Darby....LOL....great shows tho
I only got to see Ronnie James Dio once, in 1992, with Black Sabbath, probably shortly after a fight. Iommi and Geezer were very pissed off and didn't play at their usual level, while RJD, well, he completely knocked out everyone on stage. It has never happened again to see such an absurdly good singer on stage. RJD gave 110%, despite very shortly after announcing his (umpteenth) departure from the band. Appice's performance was very concrete

Killer Rowan Robertson riff, killer solo section, balls out drumming by simon wright. whatever else you think of Lock up the Wolves, they were firing on all pistons on this track.

This really marks a peak for DIO and Rowan Robertson is amazing.... but it's like... it went unnoticed except for some hardcore Dio / metal fans - what an amazing lineup and all of the songs were VERY GOOD and strong!
I agree just discovered this song just now this is very underrated. Don't get me wrong I love the album "Holy Diver" and most fans of Dio have heard those songs but the whole albums "Dream Evil" and "Lock Up The Wolves" are just as great.

Rowan is incredible. Saw him live recently alongside Andy Martongelli, Gus G and Michael Angelo Batio in Greece. Had a little talk with him after the show about how thrilled I was about talking with a former Dio guitarist and he was friendly as all hell. Bless him man he's too good

Wow! Ronnie Jamie Dio passed away. OMG! I am still trying to wrap my head around that. Granted, he was no spring chicken - but Ronnie James Dio meant so much to me growing up. To me, he was God-like; he was so talented on so many levels - singing, songwriting, producing - that people only WISH they could compare.

Without a doubt, Dio will never be replaced. Blessed Be to the man and his loved ones. His legacy and his talent are without question. We used to blast out the barracks with his music, during the first gulf war. To those who don't know or have forgotten. Bands such as MANOWAR, JUDAS PRIEST, IRON MAIDEN, continue to hold the banner of Metal high. As long as we never forsake his memory, and crank the volume up to "10". He will look upon us and be pleased. Brothers of Metal salute!!! SEMPER FI.

I actually prefer this one to the 'classic' Dio band albums - he's refined this style to perfection with this one just before the inevitable need to change came along. Not sure the change in personnel was necessary, but that may well have been a vital ingredient to keep it fresh.
