@@captainginyu2310 there's a whole build centered on that lucky dagger. You can actually get 2 of them if you pickpocket it from the quest giver at the beginning. Then you just have to max out the Elemental Fury shout and that's the build. It works because the "enchantment" on the dagger isn't regarded as one so Elemental Fury can do its thing.

That "lucky dagger" has the 2nd highest base damage of all daggers... not really a challenge run.

You thought you beat the game, but it was all an illusion.
Actually, the entire plot of the game was an illusion. The dragons were just smoke and projectors. It was all a Thalmor conspiracy, and this character was supposed to become a false hero for the people of skyrim so they thought tricky Thalmor were cool.
Flip over page then Matthew Breen Was Killed.
That is the only truth to this game. Even without mods(who does that?) the game has months of playtime and thats accounting for player wandering

I remember as a kid playing skyrim i used the clairvoyance spell to try and find the girl when you start playing hide and seek in morthal, so instead of just walking the 20 steps from her burnt down house i instead walked all the way to dawnstar before I questioned if it was working

I find clairvoyance valuable since it tells me what the path is if I DON'T want to spend 20 minutes trying to figure out how to jump up the sheer mountainside.
Since Skyrim is a highly mountainous region, this is valuable.
Or if you get completely lost in a dungeon

Whenever I tried to use that spell when I first played the game, it'd point me in the opposite direction I needed to go. Probably a long-patched bug but I'm still not trying to waste time on a spell that probably doesn't...perform its' one ability.
You could just... walk around the mountain. I get the sentiment because I too would jump up mountains but I knew I could just walk around.

If you cast Fury on a person that is already angry, you just wind up with an angry person in their natural habitat. That’s right, you end up with an angry person on the internet.
Dang. Missed opportunity to disguise yourself at a Thalmore and just walk past all the guards and go right into the basement without fighting.

Whoevencaresbra - actually you can pull it off with other races, just no beast race, but high elves can actually TALK to the guards and bullshit their way as if they’re thalmor. Instead of having to keep distance like mer or men. Trying with beast race and your tail betrays you instantly. You absolutely need the HOOODED robe though
@@nodermark8922 Yeah if you're a High Elf and you have Thalmor armor you can walk around the embassy.

Yeah I actually learned this 2 days ago I was doing the DB quest where calcemo (I forgot his name I think its that) comes, I after that killed lis and they all started killing me and in the end I just loaded the autosave from when I entered the sanctuary and I really didnt want to listen to them again so I tested out bumping and it made them skip dialog so I just did that
Sunrise Is a Show It’s Cicero and funnily that’s where I learned about it first and used it over all their dialogue cause I’ve done it so much
It's honestly the greatest spell in the game.

When using invisibility, you can cast and hold it while going through a door so that when you load in or out the building, your invisible again
Yeah, but you never actually need too, since you can just cast it when you enter and the enemies lose you in seconds.

FINALLY someone recognizes clairvoyance as the best spell. To many people dismiss it due to the weird Skyrim glitch of an arrow pointing you to the general direction of your quest.
I always pick it up *just in case*. Same how I always have a water breathing potion on me. You never know
In all honesty if you use clairvoyance for any reason other than your lost in a dungeon you probably shouldn’t be playing Skyrim sorry

All jokes aside when I played skyrim the first timeabout 6 years ago when I was 11 I literally had to use clairvoyanceor google the location to find some things like the path to High Hrothgar it may sound stupid, but when you start the game you literally do not know anything and if you do you dont know all the details which makes some part unenjoyable so much to the point you have to use it, you can say whatever you want, but in your first walkthrough skyrim can be rough

BATMAN well I understand that mountain paths can be hard to find but if you want to experience random encounters all you have to do is walk down the roads in the hold of whiterun

Depends on their intentions. If they're challenging you to a duel, guards won't help you. But if they're bandits/cultists/whatever, the guards will try to protecc u
Idk I had a random dude come up to me in whiterun who challenged me after saying to the effect of "I called myself the best wizard. I challenge you to a duel" where then once it started the guards proceeded to beat his ass as well as my follower and my summons lmao. at this point i'm not sure when and when not the guards protect you

I actually really like clairvoyance, it helps immensely when the quest is on a very steep mountain and there are only a few spots where you are actually able to go up
a better question is if you can beat skyrim with only alteration magic. you know, that one school that branch of magic most people look over except for the flesh spells and magic res.
edit: fun fact, if you're an altmer with Justiciar robes you can impersonate one and gain entry that way.

Years ago, I unironically used clairvoyance so much it could've counted as being one of my favourite spells. I was young, and I liked following instructions, that's how I foolishly killed Paarthunax.
Fun fact:In the thalmor embassy if you equip the hooded thalmor robes and use Calm/Pacify on guards or is playing a High Elf they won't attack you and have unique dialogues.
I actually didn't know that, at that point I had the wombo combo of spell and didnt even think to try anything else.
This run just sounds like my introverted goal in life. Avoid everyone, Stay invisible, just get the job done by having other people do it for me. EZY
One note for any Illusionist players like myself, when you get invisibility, you can charge up the spell, press e to go through a door and immediately cast the spell by letting go of the button before the loading screen starts, to be invisible after going through the door.
That's pretty clever, I'll have to try that.

Pickpocketing is it's own separate skill so technically it wasn't only illusion
Illusion is probably the most tedious yet fun school of magic in skyrim
Well it can be powerfull too, it can be really powerfull sometimes, I was once playing as a vampire lord nord (so basically ice is no no against me, but fire melts me (pun not intended) so yeah) and this legendary dragon came and by my unfortune he spat fire so I just used muffle, invisibility and used a bucket to get through a stone after I was hidden and tbh I dont know why I wrote this comment, kill me now

Alduin is a protected npc meaning player character has to deal the final blow,
even if every npc was hitting him, npcs can’t kill him

I have improved map and roads everywhere along with a mod that adds roads making traversing the areas much less of a headache. Although I am using ENB and my own lighting which means it gets very dark and hard to find stuff

The only way for the challanger to assault this early in the game is by cheating oor at least a hour of magic grinding.
Well by that point I had probably been playing for about an hour and spamming muffle, so I guess it all works out.

Fun fact - if you cast Invisibility during opening a door that leads you to somewhere else - you end casting in after you passed through, so let's say you want to go into the 2nd part of the Embassy, you start casting it before opening the door, and cast the spell by releasing the button buring the animation of the door opening - that way you end up already invisible on the inside.

Excellent video! As an illusion mage myself, I found this particularly awesome. I do have a few tips to share with you and anyone else watching. 1. You can persuade the riften gate guard to let you through and they will. I've tried dozens of times and have always succeeded, regardless of speech level. The same "trick" works for the whiterun gate guard. 2. You can hold the invisibility spell (or any chargeable spell for that matter), press the activate button, and while pressing that button you release the charged spell. This allows you to cast invisibility immediately once you've opened a door/container or whatnot, leaving you visible for only about a half second.
I love Illusion backstabs.

Something that could help with the parts where your waiting around for NPCs to kill stuff are the courage and rally spells. They fortify the health of the target and make it so they won't flee under any circumstances.

Honestly I'm at a crossroads in my gaming life I was playing elder scrolls online for about 5 years non stop completely addicted started watching your vids couldn't believe people still made content for this game playing skyrim again as magic class has been the best way for me ween myself from playing eso 8 hrs a day to playing 2 hrs tops of skyrim as your vids gave me whoal new dimension to play the game that is fun and unique and as it's not online I can put it down and it's still the same universe so it's still satisfying and also I can do so much I couldn't in eso thanks man honestly very entertaining also 🤣

Damn the invisibility and muffle spells are basically just another version of the oblivion gate stones. Its kinda amusing knowing that i forgot that illusion even existed since i always thought it was completely useless. Nice vid bud.

With the ordinator mod, Illusion is my absolute favorite magic to use. Ive done multiple playthroughs as illusionist and its amazing.
My last playthrough my tactic was basically make everyone frenzy and kill eachother, then use sneaky illusion stuff to sneak by the remaining guys.
This dude's a ninja, he finished diplomatic immunity stealthily. I killed every single person in the embassy

To be fair to clairvoyance, the compass doesn't always tell you EVERYTHING you need to know
fun note about Invisibility: by holding down the casting button, you can pre-charge the spell before interacting with objects, or opening doors, and as long as you open the door or interact with the object while the casting animation plays, you will cast Invisibility *again* while interacting, which is a fun work-around for the interactions breaking your Invisibility.

Skyrim using only illusion is a really fun way to play. I just sit back and let everyone else do the work while I get all the praise
My favorite magic set up is atronach perk from alteration plus the atronach stone and then full mirrak set. This gives you 100% magic absorbtion. Combine that with the ash atronach without a heart stone and you get infinite magic.
