There's actually a panel in that moment that they cut off, it explains in what ways a resurrection can fail or not fully work out, especially if parts of you are missing and you have to compensate with other being's remains. So Falin came back as Falin but she's also part dragon, which the elf guy has control over, so let's say the dragon's soul "won" when the magician stepped in and ordered it around.
Resurrection magic only works in the dungeon because the soul isn't allowed to leave, right? So what happens if resurrected Falin leaves the dungeon? What if "alternate form" Falin leaves the dungeon? Will her spirit and the dragon's be separated or permanently fused?
@@jenjenhocho3188 She would still be alive. Just because resurrection magic only works in the dungeon doesn't mean that people will instantly drop dead if they leave the dungeon. If that was the case then the dungeon would be absolutely crowded with adventurers that cant leave.

yall are the first channel ive seen realize the ghosts were trying to protect falin! Something the subtitles in most versions of this miss, is when the ghosts surrounded the party they WERE actually whispering things like "it's okay" and "don't be scared", you can hear it pretty well in the dub. glad that yall caught that they're benevolent, its something a lot of people miss until its pointed out later
i don't think it's explained but since the lord of the dungeon created everything in the dungeon he is also connected to everything so he probably saw laios through his painting version and then hopped in to attack him that time. glad you guys are enjoying the series! it only gets better from here on!

Chilchuck originally stuck around because he gets paid upfront for jobs, and he considered saving Falin from the dragon as part of the job of killing the dragon. He's a professional and won't leave the job unfinished. But also he tries to keep personal feelings and his job separate, but he's really one of the biggest softies.
