Anyway, we quickly fell in *love* with the food they would make. It became a great source of amusement to get into a conversation once Halloween was past about our enthusiasm for the upcoming culinary opportunities. You'd say 'I can't wait for the turkey and dressing, the sweet potatoes, the lumpia and pancit...' they would be nodding 'til the last two and then stop and say "Huh??" 😁 Haven't had that pancit in almost 40 years now. 😔

Go to SoCal and you will find a hell of alot of Filipino restaurants. One of my favorites was Erlindas, crunchiest Lechon I've ever had. Sadly it's permanently closed😢.

Point-Point means "Turo-turo" in Tagalog, Philippines' major dialect, which is a cafeteria style of diner where you literally point, "turo" in Tagalog, what you want to order.

fun fact: point-point in direct translation to tagalog means, turo-turo.
in the philippines we have this small eateries (carinderia) also known as turo-turo, because you literally have to point out the dishes you want to eat because all of the dishes are displayed for you to see. prices are way cheaper in turo-turo because it is a mom&pop shop, and servings is just enough for a single person.
