Funny thing I was in a Toyota dealership last week and I walked up to a Tacoma and this music just started playing in my head as well.
Coincidence?
Nice video, thank you! Please include payload number in your videos. What was the MSRP? Toyota got a lot of things right with the Tacoma and it is sharp! So far, I am disappointed in the lack of payload. The gas tank is also too small for towing duties. It is also missing features (for cost cutting) such as rear AC vents, no rear arm rest, insufficient charging ports in the rear, etc. I love that you can get it with a 6’ bed, but does it have 1,500 lbs of payload to support the extra bed space? Nice truck, but not sure it is the right truck for me.
Payload is at about 1700 pounds which is more than Chevrolet Colorado or Nissan Frontier. It is not a heavy duty truck and for those looking for that extra capacities Tundra is fairly close in price.
@@MattTheCarguy 1,709 is the “max” payload on a “properly” configured Tacoma. I want to know the “real world” payload on individual trucks. The few videos that I have seen have that share the payload for that specific Tacoma truck is about 1,200 lbs. That will not work for my needs. My current midsize SUV has 1,157 lbs of payload. I want a truck, mid-size preferably, that will have about 1,500 lbs of payload. I will put a topper on the truck, so I need at least 1,400 lbs to equal the capacity of my current SUV (1,157 plus 250 lbs for the topper). Previous generation Tacomas have been weak on payload. The new gen is supposed to be better, but what I am seeing is only a marginal improvement. I talked to a young guy in the Target parking lot last week with a new GMC Canyon Elevation. He had no idea what his payload was, LOL. I had him read the yellow sticker on the driver door frame. Just over 1,600 lbs. Impressive!!! I am buying at the end of 2024. By then, I will have a better handle on the Tacoma’s real world payload.
Just drop more money on a super duty truck if you need a heavy duty work truck. These trucks are sporty for city use and occasional offroading lol.
Charging ports lol
Beautiful truck. They nailed the looks inside and out. I shall miss the V6 but not the gear hunting of the old gen. I think I wait for the hybrids and then turn in my 2022 for a new one.
I think the Hybrids will be the way to go.
No ventilated seats either?
Not on this model
no v6. either
Are LED headlights standard?
Yes.
“The 3RD Gen felt so bad “ that’s funny cause everyone who rides in mine, love it. Stick to watching the other car reviews while enjoying your latte! You just don’t have it, honestly I was annoyed the minute you opened your trap.
Keep on moving Karen, just because you dont like what others say doesnt mean you are right.
@@MattTheCarguy well said
What steps were installed on this one? They don’t look like any on the accessory list?
They were installed at the Southeast distribution center so I don't think they are listed on Toyota's website. Not sure of the brand but maybe call the dealership and ask.
Thank you!
Never heard someone say “ now let’s listen to the sound of the closing door”……
There is always a first for everything. If the door is heavy and well put together the sound is difderent and you can tell if its quality or not.
Most of the TRD Sports in my area don't even have premium package, and they are going for $44,000-47000. Aka basic TRD Sport.
There are so many packages that they have available its confusing. Also they just released pricing on the new I-Force Max hybrids. Kind of steep especially at the top.
@@MattTheCarguy Too pricey. And then looking at the Sequoia and Tundra TRD Pro. Toyota is out of their minds now.
@@mongoosevsgt unfortunately everything expensive. What have you find thats less and still quality?
I got the trd sport blue crush color , with heated seats and steering 14 inch infotainment, auto seats , rear window , 50k out the door. I got them to take off dealer installed add on like ceramic coating and gap insurance.. pretty happy with this truck looks awsome and drives awesome compare to my 22 trail edition.. yes it doesn’t have a v6 but I actualy feel that this 4 banger with turbo feels more powerful. And yeah that transmission is smooth.. night and day diff.. good job Toyota 👍🏼..
@@noxnyc23 Congrats!
TFL tested one of these towing a very light aluminum trailer, 11MPG!!
All trucks take a hit on mpgs when towing but half of posted is pretty bad
The trailer was also much bigger than the taco making it a wind sail, I tow a 2k lb trailer with my 17 tundra and get 8mpg, and non towing only 12 so I’ll take the fuel savings on regular driving , also the trailer was 50% of its tow capacity so not really light for truck
11 mpg while only towing HALF of it's tow capacity? do you hear what you are saying?@@rally6824
What was the weight of the trailer?
I really hope that blue is an option and not in all of them. Getting vibes that someone spent too much time in auto zone.
Haha it may be a little much. I guess it depends on what trim you choose.
Blacked out looks better.
Looks good too.
4x2 ? 4x4 ?
This one was 4x2
I like to see Ev on Tacoma
God forbid!!
There are a lot of blank buttons on that truck interior.
Yes, it wasn't "fully loaded", so be prepared to spend some $$ on extras.
Vc compraria esse toyota ou um gmc at4
I haven't tested the new Canyon AT4 or AT4X but they seem like good trucks. Once I get my hands on one I will be able to compare better.
The screen is obnoxiously too big and yes I'm under the age of 50
Lol it is big!
Lack of room for rear passengers is a deal breaker
Tundra may be a better option.
Looks like a Bronco under the hood needs a nice engine cover
I would want to see one as well.
Sold!!
Did you buy it?
Salesman says Thank you sir. After you gone he will say suckers!
You check it out yourself million times. You pay and have it for life. Bye~
Thanks
Bed liner? C’mon. Good review otherwise.
I know Toyota doesnt want it to be called that as they siad that the bed is composed of ultra-durable, fiber-reinforced Sheet-Molded Composite (SMC) surface. What do you call it?
Standard: Composite bed.
My understanding that as an option you can get a spray in bedliner on top so it will have a textured non-slippery surface.
TOO EXPENSIVE!
In range with other pick ups this size
over priced ,over hyped, over teched bullshit turbo turd@@MattTheCarguy
All cars are too expensive rn
That blue is atrocious! What the hell was Toyota thinking? What a way to ruin a truck that with two-tone seats and blue interior trim...No thanks!
I am not a big fan of it either, but not all trim level have it so don't write the Tacoma off because of that.
lol dude this isn’t for people like you anyways. It’s for people that need a new truck after 10 years
Not sure what you mean by that comment.
@@MattTheCarguy I think I meant to reply to someone else. Sorry.
@@justinstewart3248 lol. No worries
I truly believe that after Toyota messing up the 2024 Tacoma my Tacoma gen 3 will become a collective item in the near future…
I just got done driving 2023 SR5. After 4 hours on thw road i almost had to see the chiropractor. My 2010 Jeep Wrangler was more comfortable than that.... but if you like it, great. I welcome the new suspension change.
If I want it to buy a sport car then l get a Toyota Supra. The new Tacoma has a very weak rear suspension especially for the rust belt states
Too much plastic
Agree!
Waste of time and money, I’ll stick to my 2021 Tacoma TRD V6 3.5L rear leaf springs.
Enjoy it!
