- UFC President Dana White spoke to the media at the UFC 156 media day and discussed former UFC heavyweight and light heavyweight champion Randy Couture signing a talent deal with Spike TV and Viacom. White said Couture is the 'furthest thing' from being Captain America and is glad he is longer in business with him.

This isn't about Couture but I met a guy named Randy once. He was okay.
my mom was in vegas a couple months back and saw him at a sports memorabilia place. Said he was the nicest guy ever, she got a picture with him and was super stoked. My cousin knows some guy who owns a casino in vegas also where i guess randy hangs out in the bar sometimes. Said he just shoots the shit with everyone and couldn't be nicer. You can't please everyone bro
I once ate lunch at the same table with Randy years ago on a movie set and he was such a nice guy.

I’ve had to manage 20-30 people at my job. Managing people sucks. Imagine managing 200+ people that are trained killers with incredible egos. You can say what you want about Dana but he’s job ain’t easy.

Dude Vitor was a beast back then, I am assuming you saw him run through Wandy back then. He was a great fighter and one of the bestt he sport has seen. He also held both the LHW and HW belts 2. Yeah his record doesn't look that great I know but that was because he fought some of the best 2. look at BJ Penn's record, it looks pretty awful 2 but he also fought the best out there GSP, Hughes, Rory, Nick Diaz, Jon Fitch, Frankie Edgar, Machida! so it depends how you look at it.
I have this fastfood place I go to once every 2weeks when it's my off day from my diet and I'm nice to everyone there and talk shit. I don't think that makes it so any of them know me in person, just how I am outside in public.

Never trust the promoter against fighters
when your in his promotion he'll say your the best human being in the world and would do anything for anyone, but when you wanna earn money else where your a scum bag and whoever knows the "real" you knows your a terrible person. Dana was on couture's balls for the longest time saying hes a legend, one of the greatest, and most inspirational stories.
This would've never been said when Randy was in UFC or if he never got involved in Bellator.
I love Randy as a fighter. Great fighter. As a person.. Well I don't know him.

One time I was line waiting to get an autograph from Randy. When it was my turn up I tried to shake his hand. But he pulled me forward, spit in my face, lifted me up into the air and broke my back over his knee. Like some Bane shit.

The fact that people take Dana on his word is amazing. HES A FUCKING PROMOTER! Everyone that is with him is "the best" "a great guy" and "totally down to earth" and anyone against him is "evil" "gangster" and "a fraud".
He's so extreme, irrational, and illogical but people eat it up. Just watch how he talks about someone one day, and then another. Completely polar opposites. That's not a person you should rely on for accurate information.
dana is also talking about someone who went to a rival promotion and it's not in dana's best interests to say anything nice about the guy. He's a businessman....doesn't mean he has to be factual with what he says about other people if they are going to cost him money. No idea why you wanna believe this guy
He made up how the UFC screwed him over in ppv buys and wasn't getting paid his fair share of money since chuck was making more losing. They went to court and zuffa won very easily.
In Dana's world anyone that ever goes up against him or demands anything other than what he is offering makes them a twat..
Some MMA publications did give him an overrated status, I agree with that, but that doesn't discount all the millions of dollars he helped raise for the UFC and title fights he won. Yeah he did recieve a lot of title shots, true, but I think that was more about his marketability. I will say this though, it was kind of a sleezy move on Randy's part, but if Dana was in Randy's current state he probably would have done the same thing, business is business 2 all these people never forget that.
Come on guys.. Whether Dana is acting extreme or not, the bottom line is UFC has done a lot for Randy (as Randy done for UFC) but the guy went to the other team. Whoever is judging Dana someone who KNOWS Randy based off of the LITTLE facts we have, then you are JUST as bad and I can say without a shadow of a doubt, that if you were in his shoes, you'd be the SAME way. If anything, Dana and Randy probably had a great friendship and this tore it even more.
You're a hypocrite if you said you wouldn't be upset if a close friend you were in business with left to join your competition. That's a sellout IMO considering Randy has PLENTY of things to "get him by."

His record is awful. The only reason he was in the UFC for as long as he was was because he's Randy. People liked him and wanted this old guy to succeed.
