Unbelievable how the UFC was able to bury Randy's legacy. The man holds so many records its unreal. Top 10 great in the sport.
No athlete is greater than the promotion he works for.
first TUF coach too, without that first TUF UFC would have died
@@tongzhao7578 what promotion is greater than Tyson Fury ? what promotion was greater than Mayweather? or Oscar? Pacquiao? mma is being run like the WWE instead of a real fighting sport

Very true. 100 bots probably disliked your comment.
I love that Ariel has his own platform to discuss the UFC issues. Cause if he was still with ESPN this wouldn't be getting ANY air time.
Thanks Captain Obvious.
@@lesmurphy5369 it's actually not that obvious to the casual fan. Hence why it's still an issue in 2022.

He was 47 fighting a 31 year old machida. Dudes a legend
1st n only 3 time heavyweight champ
Nine0Nme chillin Can you even define legend in your own words?
Randy is a GOAT
he is also made good movies. Movie star
Don't think we will see a man like Randy anytime soon, the first champ champ, only wanted to fight the best, money didn't matter. Had a heartattack at 53 and walked himself to hospital, army Sargent, true gentleman. Hats off to you sir, don't make them like this anymore. 🙏
Didn’t he leave the ufc because of money lol?
Also Randy is one of the most well spoken smart individuals who speaks in clear thoughts without mumbling or raising his voice to get his point across. Most of the fighters and even promoters like Dana raise there voice and use testosterone fake tough guy talk to get there point across which puts off some of the viewers'!
Randy never held 2 belts simultaneously. The short list in order:
Mcgreg
Dc
Nunes
Cejudo
Yup legitimate humility is a rare dream in 2022.
Tricky Dicky You and everyone who liked your comments are casuals if you think he was a champ-champ.
Randy tried to tell y'all a long time ago and you didn't listen. History is repeating itself.
The arrogant never do
The UFC pays off fighters at the top to be quiet. It’s why when the push for a fighters union in 2019 dropped off out of nowhere. Jon Jones, Jorge, Nate, and several others got paid behind the scenes to stop talking. Cowboy Cerrone talked one time about receiving that pay to be quiet when fighters pushed for a union around 2012.
We all listened, but there's nothing we can do about it. Hell the vast majority of MMA fans around the world don't even pay for the product let alone get involved in any way to help fighters like this.
@@VCthaGOATdunker Do the fans even care? You and I might care, many MMA fans don't care.
Randy's articulation is second to none. SO much respect for this man and what he has done.
Articulation is movement ding dong
He was lying about the blood thing, but it was amusing. I ran a Plasma center for awhile. He has thick blood high fat in his diet and steroid use. I agree with him on fighter pay though. Dana White is a slave owner at this point.
Randy has integrity, Dana has BS.
Lol to me he talks like every white man I know

Frank Shamrock has also been almost wiped from the record by the UFC because of Dana's personal issues with him.
Im so glad Ariel can say what he wants now. I feel like unless they do what Francis wants this is going to be a moment in history that changes everything.

Weird how Chael lists him as one of his greatest mentors yet they couldn’t be more different. Chael the loudmouth company man, Randy the “I do my talking in the cage” and stands up to the man.
Chael personality is more of a WWE promo person. You really don't know who he really is as it seems like Chael is playing a character when in front of the mike or camera. While Randy seems more sincere and a true persona in or out of the cage/camera.
The ghosts of Frank Shamrock, Randy Couture and GSP possessed Ngannou's ground game.
Randy is so articulate and poised. What a champ!
I am a fairly new MMA fan, there is a Joe Rogan interview that made me to dislike Ariel, where Joe mentioned Ariel releasing some internal UFC Intel etc. This man is an assert in this sport and am glad I gave myself a chance to watch his work.
It's about the UFC 199 incident.
So good to see so many people in the comments giving Randy a ton of respect and best wishes the guy is one of kind 🙏🔥🙏
Exactly why Nate Diaz is having a hard time getting his last fight on his contract. Nate wants to go box and make a boatload of money and Dana doesn't want him to.
Nate's been offered fights and turned them down.
This guy fought till 47..... Amazing.
Yes TRT
The true Captain America, the true greatest of all time, and the greatest ambassador the sport of MMA will ever know, enter Randy Couture.
God bless ya Randy, you and yours always🙏
Noticed every interview is titled in a bias way against the UFC, and rightly so. Bet Ariel is starting to believe in karma after his issues with the UFC.. Dana made a mistake banning Ariel. Ariel has such a big platform without the UFC he not a good guy to have as an enemy
Dana is gonna pay for all the bs he has done.
I mean Dana literally unleashes the media to turn on fighters who expose unfair treatment, like Francis before the Gane fight... The media basically made him look like this ungrateful big headed bad guy and a bunch of gullible idiots fell for it (Sheep) - Its only fair Dana gets a taste of his own BIASED medicine
What an amazing interview. I truly enjoyed this one.
Randy has done a lot of work for the sport and fighters behind the scenes. He is very right on the percentages being wildly off from where they should be. The UFC only pays out fighters 15% of the profits in a year, and thats IF Conor fights that year, if not the percentage drops lower based on just him.
where should the percentages be and according to who?
15% with conor 3% without
@@donaldpump1282 the NFL are literally 50/50 split

@@lesmurphy5369 bro ufc 270 full pay outs were less than 2 million, they made 5 million just off the gate/tickets, plus that's penny's compared to the ppv, worst to worst if they had 500k buys that's 37.5million plus all the rest the week generates. 3% is being kind. They will generate 100million for this fight minimum 😤
Waaw how similar what Ngannou said in interview last week, and what Randy said in 2007. It's all about dignity and respect for the fighters.
Not all the fighters, but for these 2 yes.
It's definitely about the money for some of the fighters.
They’re trying to force Francis in court to somehow keep him in their grasp.
Yup. Its caa vs wme and Francis and his manager are pawns which will be collateral damage and bankrupted most likely. Dont hire a reality show contestant as an agent and less than 5 years experience is insane how bad he ruined francis in such a short time.
@@jasonklien5569 Manager has done a great job unless your the UFC and their interest
It’s not even to win, it’s to stall him and have the hype around him die off. They don’t want fighters to make money after Choosing to leave them. It’s why they’re not letting Nate fight Dustin without resigning with the UFC.
@@jasonklien5569 Francis knows EXACTLY what he's doing.
To succumb to UFC is basically saying it's ok to be in a master/slave relationship.
Stand up for your principles and he's clearly got a game plan. It's not like Francis doesn't know what UFC is trying to do. He didn't survive crossing the Sahara and Mediterranean and the Sand mine because he's an idiot with no street smarts.
Also noticed how quickly he improved. Shows you he is a student of the game and is willing to listen and work with good people.
The court will drain his finances. Soon the money gone with lawyers.
If fighters don't unite it'll never change
Randy is the right man to have on your side for advices, and Francis ended up training at his gym before he became the champ, that all fit well together...
He still owns the place ???
@@nivekmendez6376 Yes, Xtreme Couture still belongs to Randy since 2007 when he first opened it. He is the mentor of Erik Nicksick and comes by to check on them and be a head trainer whenever he got time...
Randy is the definition of a first ballot MMA Hall of famer
Randy regaining the belt against Tim Silvia at his age was godlike
Congratulations to Randy Couture, this is the type of fighter people need. A sport full of people from poverty which involves pride and survival, can easily be exploited by people on the side lines who just have a business angle. Congrats to the ufc for making ufc stock possible for fighters. But when it comes to entry level contracts and salaries, $12,000 is a slap in the face. No other industry would distribute pay like that. A medical bill is like $50,000 or more, so how does that make sense in a work environment that is 24/7?
Greed
This puts me as a fan in a bad position. I love watching fights and I really enjoy the ufc events the most. But with all of this stuff coming out about how things are kinda makes you not want to watch and support the company but then you hurt the fighters also in doing that. I hate that these dudes deal with this

Love me some Randy Couture!!! What a resume in the UFC. He was a bad ass, for sure. Multi division champion between the light heavy weight and heavy weight divisions.
Another good interview where fighters get chance to express freely and good questions. Good job Ariel.
Right now is a very good time to organize for these fighters. The current trio of African champions could lead this charge. Izzy, Kamaru and Francis are already friends to a degree. These three could deliver a massive blow to the UFC if the three of them come together to rally the rest of the fighters behind their United front.
Could the UFC just release them? I guess so. But, counter to that, these three are arguably PFP, at least top five, all time in their divisions. I think there is enough support and pressure that could lead them to the bargaining table
They could “play/threaten to play” the race card.
😂😂😂 The UFC wont release them, if that was the case everyone would protest to get released. The UFC just wont book you and you’ll be protesting for free.
I'm not sure this could happen if the 3 of them could unite, The biggest problem to that being Usman's manager.

But, Ngannou is in a different situation, they can't drag this out and bleed him in court, they have one year to give him the contract he wants or he is a free agent. He doesn't have any fights left on his contract, just the champion clauses.

The UFC were counting on Cyril winning. They did everything in their power to shift the chips in their favour and still lost.
Yes, I feel bad for Cyril a bit because he was being used as a pawn in this situation by the UFC and Fernand Lopez against Francis Ngannou. Everything was against Francis, especially how the MMA media was promoting this fight like it was brawns against brain, like Francis Ngannou is a one trick pony, etc. I couldn't stand how DC and Rogan were hyping Cyril up after UFC 265, like Ngannou was nothing more than the cameroonian Derrick Lewis (which I always said was bs).
Good to see yeah!
Great representative for the sport. He's thinking of the well-being of all fighters -- NOT just the superstars, who do just fine for themselves. We need more people speaking out for workers' rights in this country. The industry is trying to ignore & marginalize him so that his message doesn't get heard. Pretty typical in a system where workers are just exploited like commodities instead of given respect like human beings.

I don't know, like Randy said, fighters are so selfish they refuse to see the big picture. Furthermore, one problem is management. Many fighters' managers have a very cozy relationship with the ufc, so they actually work against their clients' interests, chief among them being Ali Abdelazziz.
It is so hard for fighters to win a case because the UFC is based in Nevada and the Fertitta family is probably the most powerful family in the state, even if they don’t own the UFC anymore Dana’s ties to them make it very hard any fighter to have success changing things in Nevada. Even Big John and Josh Thompson said the UFC will never lose a court case in Las Vegas.
