After having issues with 2 of these laptops, purchased about the same time, I'm glad this video is available.
The hinges are particularly bad on this model, designed to break after maybe a year or two of use.
    Won't be buying again.

That tape under the LCD panel just ripped at the tab when I tried it, making it basically impossible to take off the LCD screen without cracking it. Thanks HP, what kind of design is that??
Well design laptops simply have the LCD panel fastened by screws and it easily comes out when you unscrew it. Who the heck designed something where you have to pull out 18" of tape with a 1/2" little pull tab? Can't believe this and now I have a cracked panel.

The LCD replacement starts at 27:25. At 31:20 it is disconnecting the LCD cable from the back side but it doesn’t show me how it reconnects.
After flipping the display lid up and down for a year and a half the connector came apart and I can’t figure out how it is supposed to reattach.
My tape was still intact but the metal connector separated and the clip looking part already detached.
Maybe mine broke I can’t tell I’m not sure how it’s supposed to fit together.
At 31:42 it shows the connector but it’s very hard to see it in the video it goes by so fast. Is there a online manual and reference page where I can see this close up with a description how it goes together?
    Thanks.

EDITING THE UPDATE TO THE TOP:AAAAND THE SCREWS ON THE HEAT SINK ARE SO TIGHT THEY STRIPPED BEFORE COMING OUT!
    Bought at walmart.
Good hardware, awful build quality. Casing broke at hinge points within a year. (Just outside manufacturer warranty) still had store warranty and got screwed over.
Sent mine in to get broken hinge/casing fixed. They refused the warranty claiming it was infested with bugs and needs a certified cleaner to clean before they'd fix it. Searched for months and there is nobody in my whole state that provides that service and HP support wouldn't offer/ suggest anyone. Warranty expired and I opened the thing up myself to see the damage. Not a trace of bugs. No bugs, no eggs, no poop. (I have had a computer become infested after leaving in garage for years so I know the signs of an actual infestation)
Either they lied about bugs, or a single dead bug got into box en route and they used it as an excuse to refuse service.

    • @HPSupport
      @HPSupport  Před 4 lety

+Hedgehog The Sonic Nothing is screwed into plastic. Metal screw mounts are embedded into plastic and the screws attached into those metal mounts. The problem arises because the hinges are made from very light metal and after some usage they tend to seize up so that the torque on the mounts becomes excessive and the laptop pulls apart.

The LCD cable is either loose (on motherboard or screen end, or both) or damaged. If reseating at both ends doesn't fix it, you will most likely need to replace this cable.

Hey HP Support, thank you for the very helpful video. I have an HP Pavilion cx0141tx laptop. After 1.6 years of usage, the screen started showing vertical lines/flickering/distorted screen even in the BIOS screen as well. Still, I tried upgrading/rollback of the graphics drivers and Windows Updates. Nothing worked. So, I went in for display replacement. New Display replacement is also showing vertical lines. What else could be the issue? Please help. I am already regretting buying this laptop. Thank you.

I have the same laptop. A few months ago it said the battery died and wouldn’t hold a charge. It got to a point where it wouldn’t turn on without being plugged in. I now purchased a new battery but it still won’t work without a charger. I’ve tried removing the battery and turning it on and it seems like it can recognize when the battery is on or off.
So now I don’t know what the problem could be and how to fix it. Could it be a hardware or software issue? I even reset it but the problem persists. Someone please help

Dear HP support. I need a new battery for an HP Pavilion 15-cx0072nb. I've tried to find a replacement on the HP part website, aswell as other indepentent sellers near me, but i can't find the battery i need. Could you help me with this?
    any additional information:
    - the serial number on the battery itself is L08934-2B1.The bateery also had a sticker on it saying "REPLACE WITH HP SPARE L08855-855". When i entered these serial numbers into the search bar on the HP parts website, it shows no results, and also doesn't have any compatible replacements.
    - it is an SR03XL Li-Ion battery
    - only compatible with with HP series TPN-C133 (my laptop), TPN-C134, TPN-Q194.

just remove the battery to be safe, it isn't that hard. Few screws holding it in place, better to just do it rather than waiting for a reply

    Hello
I have a HP Pavilion Gaming Laptop 15-cx0008nq, with system board HP 8478 70.60, with Intel Core I7-8750H @2,2GHz and with GTX 1050 TI 4 GB and 1TB HDD 7200 rpm.
I don’t have any SSD but I want to install one. I know that this system board have an M.2 slot and I know it is compatible with NVMe SSD but I have some questions about SSD compatibility with baseboard:
    1. Is my model compatible with 2280 SSD 3.0 x 4 M.2 or with any SSD model with 80mm length?
    2. What about SSD capacity, i can put any SSD over 256 GB like 500 GB, or 256 GB is maximum in dual drive mode with my 1TB HDD 7200rpm?
    3. Can I boot windows 10 on 256 GB NVMe M.2 SSD in dual drive mode?
    4. Is compatible just with 256 GB NVMe M.2 SSD in dual drive, or I can put an 250 GB one like SSD Samsung 970 EVO Plus 250GB PCI Express 3.0 x4 M.2 2280?
    Thank you!
