      Here some examples:
3:20 (this vid) "A barrel roll produces airspeed you can use to quickly climb elevation" - that is wrong from a physics standpoint.
3:00 (PC vid) With controller you can fly equally as good as with mouse+kb - that is wrong, with a controller you are limited in pressing buttons at the same time, and this is actually what you need for advanced DF manoeuvres.
In your latest elevation video you are 1) rolling and yawing in different directions (never do that!) and 2) you are trying to scissor (doesn't make sense when there is no speed control, it actually puts you in a disadvantage)
You talk about elevation in every second sentence, as it was the most valuable thing with a fighter plane: Dogfighting in BF4 with an attack jet is besides the urge for 313 quite similar to fighters in BF1, as also couldn't compensate for the slight lack of speed when looping mainly upwards. As in BF1 with fighters, the lack was minor and didn't play a major role in dogfighting.
But the thing which really annoys me, is you explaining why you win a "BF1 dogfight" (lol) with your made up theories: In reality, all those pilots are just cutting themselves all the time allowing you to stay behind them.
The first person doing a legit BF1 DF tutorial (as silly as it sounds to people from BF4 dogfight communities) has a few things to do: 1) proving the optimal turn speed to be e.g. the standard speed 2) proving there is a speed cap and in which loops you'll reach it 3) investigate the effect of yawing for loops (is it minor as in BF4 or major like in war thunder?) 4) establishing a meta for switching (as you cannot rely on radar anymore)
As I checked your battlelog (400 kills with jets in bf4 lol), I guess you won't deliver this.
I'm not saying you are a bad BF1 pilot (it is hard to be bad in Casualfield 1), I am just saying you are wrong.

The barrel roll is to initially slip an attacker's aim. Sure you can just climb higher but that's a good way to take a lot of damage.
I've never tried to rolling scissors an opponent because nobody ever follows my barrel rolls. I just use it to force my attacker to close in on me so I can slip him and break. If he puts on the brakes to try to prevent overshoot then even better.
I already explained about opposite rudder in another video. Generally it's not good to do that but sometimes you're too close to the ground and need to adjust or crash. Also remember, I just started learning the controller a couple months ago. Still trying to produce better muscle memory.
With a controller you are limited to mapping two inputs to a single analog stick. If you use default sticks, it puts pitch and roll onto the right stick and you cannot do a max roll, max pitch maneuver. You are completely wrong there and I don't know how you came to the conclusion that controller can compete with KB+mouse given equal skill. You can overcome every other limitation of "pressing buttons at the same time" by claw gripping the left shoulder buttons. This is something you don't have any perspective on. Try learning the controller first before you make these claims.
Elevation is the most valuable thing. Not sure how much experience you have in BF1 but the reason people loop so much is they don't know how to climb back to higher elevation when they're being tailed. It's like they sense they can't maneuver but they don't know what to do about it. Basically, once you're close to the ground...you have no other option but to just loop over and over.
Optimal turn speed has nothing to do with energy fighting or for that matter, dogfighting between 2 planes with exact same turn rate/radius. The relationship between the two is inverse in BF1. Speed up..turn faster/wider. Slow down...turn slower/tighter. If you're worried about turning, you can't really be successful. You have to be able to follow the rules of the plane physics and visualize in 3 dimensions.
There's no meta for switching. You just have to visualize your opponent's movements and follow the rules of physics to produce the best angles. It's different in every situation. It's not as good and dry as in BF3/BF4 where everyone's doing the same maneuvers because of 313. Plane maneuvers vary widely with elevation and throttle/brake inputs. There's a huge skillgap here. I can't really convey in a video how to do this. If you want me to tell you in 50 words or less, think gravity and velocity vector. If you lose sight of someone, there's only a finite number of places they could go in a certain amount of time. Air radar helps certainly but it's not necessary to find people. Part of it is visualization...part of it is finding out what people tend to do. You also have to account for people putting on the brakes. It helps if you spot them before they turn out of view but you can usually predict when people will do this. That's why to me...blanket tactics like flying away to a mountain and putting on the brakes or climbing to the flight ceiling are not very good tactics.
You're entitled to your opinions about my skills but if you feel my theories on plane physics in BF1 are so wrong then make the videos. Until then, everything in my video is correct.

Stop saying elevation. It's called altitude. And help out your teammates. That's the best way to keep air superiority is when your opponent is focused on someone else and not watching his back. And if you kill him before he gets your teammate, then you've got a wingman ready to help when the opponent spawns back in.

Ok so while you are technically right in that your potential energy and kinetic energy are important in dogfighting you are completely wrong because of bf1's physics. Bf1 lets you accelerate from completely still to max speed in less than 2 seconds, climbing doesnt slow you down enough to matter and diving out from altitude (and yes it is altitude not elevation) gives you the advantage of surprise. However once you have dived on them you cant climb back up to altitude without being caught up to by the person you just dove on.

    • @SkySkywalker485
      @SkySkywalker485  Před 7 lety +2

No. They both work best in close quarters. Kind of the opposite is true. I'll break when I know they're pretty close and I can increase the angles by turning into them. If I feel they're not that close or I'm not sure of their position, I'll either barrel roll to get them closer or just split S and dive at them.

Love it how you're trying to sound all technical with constantly talking about "energy" and stuff, but then you insist on using the term "elevation" all the time, which is only really used for fixed objects. When talking about aircraft the correct word I believe is "altitude". And yeah, a barrel roll doesn't produce speed in real life, but then again real planes don't normally have "brakes" either, so it could be the game is quite different from real life in more that one sense. :D
PS I find it hilarious how some people are "competitive" BF players and for them BF1 is too "casual" :D Like, is "competitive" just another word for "I have absolutely no life outside video games, and I actually evaluate myself and other people solely based on their K/D ratio in Battlefield", or are the competitive players actually competing somewhere, wining prizes and money and stuff?
