The Somme can be quite a difficult map to play on in the Mark V. Use some of these tips and tricks to get more kills and help your team!

Distance is the most important thing in a tank. Stay out of range of throwing weapons.

I'm so happy i found this channel great video and tips! I picked up the tank wiggle a couple months ago it's so dam useful especially on flat ground! I can dam near keep up with the assault truck !

Good stuff. One thing I think that is important to consider when choosing and using a tank is the mobile spawn point component. I will avoid taking artillery trucks and light tanks for that reason alone. It can be really important in Operations.
My favorite by far is the St Chamond Standoff version! Soooo good!
Unfortunately the mortar landship usually gets a bad rap. However if you play around with it enough it's actually a really good tank. The mortar is VERY useful for taking out field guns, AA, and enemy mortar positions and the machine gun primary is a decent weapon too. As long as you use the tank to help your team instead of camping in your spawn (which most people use it for) it's quite a viable option.

Nothing more annoying than someone taking the tank to the rear edge of the map and wasting the whole game getting a few kills and not pushing up. I just don't get it, it's a tank, not a cardboard box, push up into the thick of it, get kills, be killed, EXPLOSIONS, FUN!
MetePurphy I mean the tanks can get taken out easy by two assaults. The thick of it really fucks over the player since every class can damage tanks.

The Mark V Mortar is one of the best support tank, you just need to play it cool, and engage in that mid range, from 75m to 200m, and have ar least one gunner with you. The mortar deals a lot of DMG.
Djbjunior Barbosa no, if you didn't attack for capturing the objectives. You like to sit in back of the map to kill and don't help your team in the operation or rush as attacker. Mark V Mortar tankers are bunch of morons and don't care the objectives as attacker.
Yeah, i had 130 kill streak, and i was semi-agresive with two gunners, 70% kills with lmg
i love using the landship cause I have a fake mental condition that forces me to use less popular weapons/vehicles do to the extreme exposure of no skill weapons (anti-tank variant is my go to.) the mortar is garbage and the squad is good cause of the explosive round cannon
Time Traveler DMC with such a condition you should use the recon variant of the assault truck, if you haven't already.. it's super fun to use and you'll probably be blamed for wallhacking.. but forget about taking out any enemy armor..
I can see you are a man of culture as well for the support landship.
Squad support landship is great for the somme map
as far as solo tanking the spotting assault tank is best by far.
DeathGrinder B I got to level 50 tanker class almost solely using that tank variant, getting 30 service stars along the way.. yet I don't know, how is that variant actually called..
Prefering a anti tank loadout on the somme where the enemy doesn't have tanks 😂
My favourite is also the light tank flanker. Just love the mobility and it destroys infantry. Plus it's super satisfying when you lure an enemy tank into your mines.
Personally, I've fallen in love with the Mortar version of the Arty truck. Smoke/Gas/HE shells that fire pretty quickly. Great for supporting your team.

Having a repper is the #1 thing that people don't understand about tanking. Unfortunately, NOBODY does it anymore because they think "Well, the driver can just rep now." NOBODY knows how to tank properly anymore. Tanking ISN'T supposed to be a lone wolf thing, it's supposed to be at the VERY LEAST a 2-man job.
Suport landship all the way for me on operations because I can help my team to push, to get ammo, and to heal up.

Bro everytime i use A7V i get bullshit splash damage where its literally ontop of the assualt player and they dont die, My team abandons me and no support repairs me, I proceed to get Fucked over by a shit ton of assault and it repeats WTF am i doing wrong

Tank hunter Landship on Somme is pointless. The Germans don't get any tanks on that map.
It's historically accurate. The world's first tank went into battle during the Battle of Somme, which was in fact a British Landship. The Germans didn't have tanks at that time.

Number one rule you noob tankers Don rush into flag full of enemys thinking our gona kill everybody no there gona kill you in a split second
don't u love getting in a tank as a gunner and someone does this. you clear the flag then hop on it ready to escape. the best strategy is SOON as you start taking damage start to flee. don't be afraid (especially of assault players as every gadget damages tanks) to book it out of there.
Dont forget. NEVER get out of you tank or else someone will take from you
