Battlefield V is a first-person shooter video game developed by EA DICE and published by Electronic Arts. Battlefield V is the sixteenth installment in the Battlefield series. It was released worldwide for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on November 20, 2018. Those who pre-ordered the Deluxe Edition of the game were granted early access to the game on November 15, 2018, and Origin Access Premium subscribers on PC received access to the game on November 9, 2018. The game is based on World War II and is a thematic continuation of its World War I based precursor Battlefield 1.
Battlefield V will focus extensively on party-based features and mechanics, scarcity of resources, and removing "abstractions" from game mechanics to increase realism. There will be an expanded focus on player customization through the new Company system, where players will be able to create multiple characters with various cosmetic and weapon options. Cosmetic items, and currency used to purchase others, will be earned by completing in-game objectives.
The game will feature several new multiplayer modes, including the "continuous" campaign mode "Tides of War", "Firestorm", and "Grand Operations". The Grand Operations mode is an expansion of the "Operations" mode introduced in Battlefield 1, which focuses on matches taking place across multiple stages to simulate a campaign from the war. In Grand Operations, each round will have specific objectives, and performance in each stage will influence the next. Games will culminate with a "Final Stand", with players using only a primary weapon with limited ammo, and no respawns. Similarly to Battlefield 1, the game will feature a collection of single-player "war stories" based on aspects of World War II. The game also features a cooperative mode not seen since Battlefield 3 called "Combined Arms", where four players can undertake missions together and features dynamic missions and objectives so missions cannot be played the same way each time. Combined Arms is scheduled to be released after launch. The Battle Royale mode will be built around the franchise's "core pillars of destruction, team play, and vehicles". The name "Firestorm" is derived from a literal storm of fire that engulfs players similar to the popular Battle Royale game mechanic of restricting the play area. Furthermore, this particular game mode is not being developed by EA DICE themselves, but has been outsourced to Criterion Games and features the biggest map created by the franchise to date. Man give you mad respect for stickn with the game and keeping the positive outlook while pointing out issues i gave it a break till more content. But i always try to pick a tank for the situation CQB is a no brainer go with light tanks like devastation biggest tank i'll roll is a pzlV.....but i found the pz lV is my go to mid/long range it's there if i need speed and can hold it's own if swarmed with infantry.

AA tanks were effective against infantry for the most part in ww2
For me best is Pz. IV with Zimmerit, Track Repair, 75mm KwK 40L/43 and AP round.
Same splash DMG as Tiger, but way faster reload. Also its smaller and faster.

Great video. Just one thing. I didn't hear you mention the Tiger 1. Not only is it iconic, it has and 88 mm gun and a smaller machine gun turret for infantry combat. The campaign sort of makes it op, but in the multiplayer game it performs a lot better than most tanks. Not to be rude, but I believe that it deserves a place higher up, rather than lower down. Disregard this, actually. I don't think they were in the game yet at this point. Could you possibly make a video that updates the list for best tank? Thanks!
Love how the round goes past a targeted plane which glitches into a fireball some frames later.
I agree with most of the list with the exception of the light and AA tanks.
The Staghound is a bigger target than the medium tanks, has armour made of paper mache, is bouncy as hell thanks to its wheels, making shooting accurately on the move near impossible, and does woeful damage to enemy armour. Whenever I see one it's like I've got a free kill.
The 38T is excellent at sneaking around with its small size and decimating enemy tanks from behind with AP shells, and with good accuracy while moving and being difficult to hit, again due to its smaller size.
The AA tanks both suffer from being almost useless against a competent pilot (I fly a lot myself) because they simply can't do enough damage to planes before their guns overheat or the plane is too far away to reliably hit anymore. This problem is so bad I would rather pick their regular medium tank counterparts to do their job with a single shot instead.

Dont know what you mean. The german aa is more than powerful even against experienced pilots. Even after tons of nerfs and tweaks it still dominates when you can hit your target.

I'd only really argue against the Stag/38t on mobility as the tracks make all the difference. They're pretty much on par and awesome without the autocannon (after the nerf) and A/T rounds.
Also after adding the puma, the Panzer 4 fits in some weird spot between the former and the Tiger 1. I think it's much better suited to close infantry support with the stubby 75mm and flare launcher + case rounds and therefore I'd arguably put it lower than both the stag and 38t since mobility this late in the games lifecycle is paramount especially with the veteran flyboys looming haha

When the archer is supposed to be slow but I can be fast, and where the cannon is facing is the rear versus the front in battlefield . But hey itâs in their and itâs great
Great video. I think the reinforcement tanks could use a little help. Churchill crocodile should have the driver control the flamethrower and the gunner control the cannon. and the sturmtiger shouldnât move up and down so much on small bumps, so pretty much just make it heavier. Also I think the stug 4 and the 37mm flack panzer should have a small buff. Other then that I think tank balance is pretty good.

I agree with you, it is not the best tank, but the Tiger is very beautiful and iconic, that's why I love it
It's pretty good on Panzerstorm's open fields because of the 88mm being both hard hitting and flat shooting. But that's about it. On all other maps it's just too sluggish to get you out of trouble and you end up getting swarmed by half the enemy team.
I get the most kills by far with the panzer using mines and flares. I troll so hard with it lol. And it actually helps the team..
It should be the best tank in BFV imo. Not to the point where itâs OP, but to the extent where you have a extra hand compared to the other tanks.

The tiger is good at (ironically) tanking. If you have just one support player repairing the tank then it receives more health than it loses while dishing out pain left and right. If you think the tiger is bad in bf5 then you don't know how to use it

Your forgetting tanks sights. The sights on the Valentine which are two intersecting lines meeting in the center are absolutely lethal and the best Tank sights in the game. I snipe people from insane distances like 2 miles constantly and I once went 62-0 on Aerodome just by sitting on the hill above the German hanger flags. Count in the Valentine comes with 32 rounds of those beauties with some good movement speed and you got the best tank in the game. Out of all my tanks Valentine gave me 3000 kills. The panzer comes in second win 2,500 kills and is a overall excellent second. The tigers great at anti tank but suffers from its acceleration and lack of ammo.
Yeah sights are a huge factor thats over looked in this game. Many of the tank sighta suck with no distance reference points

Iâm by no means great at this game when it comes to tanks but I make it a point to be decent with all of them so I use all the tanks and tbh itâs really fun to see what kind of situations you can get into and out alive with some of these beasts lmfao loved the video too
I had once a 40 kills streak using the StuG on twisted steel on the bridge (not counting remote and Standart MG kills by the amazing gunners) with some infantry support the StuG is a monster
The gun carrier can hit really hard. It can fire the SH-HE which reverses the damage model when hitting a tank. Basically it does more from the front and less from the back.
I think the Flakpanzer's flaming rounds are way better against infantry than the Valentine AA's case rounds. That's just my opinion tho.

u should give archer a bonus because it drives even more faster backwards so it retreats faster or u can even drive backwards on enemy
The Churchill croc is hit or miss at least for me. The flamethrower obstructs vision and can be annoying when engaging another tank. Also because of the unrepairable engine bug from a while back.
Believe it or not I was using a staghound and clapped a tiger upclose by disabling the turret and doing circles around it while spraying at it

The gun carrier has a 3 inch (76mm) gun which was made famous by the Sherman firefly (a Sherman with a new gun installed in place of the 75mm m3)

Valentine Mk VIII and the Panzer IV are definitely very close. And yea the call ins can always be taken out if you don't think they belong haha. Just like to put them in there for the sake of having them.

Fool the mortar head round combo is godly against tanks, once you get used to the arc your solid doin 40+ damage per shot to the front armor of a tiger

as a War Thunder player the Tiger is treated SUPER differently with it's weaponry compared to WT, in WT it's main 88mm PzGr is basically a round with insane penetration and some of that sweet sweet Nuclear explosive mass.
and HEAT basically only gets used against SPAAGs

I don't even Equip HE since people use SPAAGs in the end of the game, so I just kill them with whatever ammo I have left

My love will always be the Panzer 38t. Itâs such an adorable little recon tank if you keep the flares, no better infantry hunter in the game. Sheer speed and manoeuvrability keep it alive, and the ability to outflank heavier tanks mean they have to respect you or get ambushed from behind. A lot of ammo and easy resupplies feels so good too, almost no down-time.
Just so much fun every time.
Every tank is really good. It's just how you use it and how you rush the enemy. If you rush into a group of people without infantry to support you, well, your dead. I've seen really good tankers last half the round or more just by leading infantry. You also got to pick the tank that suits your play style. If you like to cap or defend objectives pick tanks such as the Tiger or Churchill and Panzer 38(T). If you like to flank behind tanks or defend other tanks staghound is pretty solid, just don't go into Infantry . If you like to keep a distance but still damage objectives the Churchill gun carrier or StuG IV. If you like a all rounder the Vallintine or Panzer IV.
I like how in his intro he only shows footage of tanks NOT doing their job right (except that one german tank who shot in WWII a bomber out of the air)
I what world does the Staghound have good mobility? High top speed does not equal great mobility.
I can't count the times that I got stuck with this tank or it simply refused to move any faster than a snail in off-road terrain. Combine that with any enemy shooting at you and you got the most unreliable vehicle in the game. :/
Depends on how you decide to use it, it is definitely not the most capable for off-roading but it makes up by having a very high maneuverability on somewhat flat ground. I personally have driven the staghound a lot and I have gotten stuck twice. That's also the reason it has a low versatility scope.
It's hella fun to use tho
And lets not forget the wheels make it bouncy as hell so good luck trying to shoot anything while moving

I would put the flakpanzer 4âs Anti-infantry at 10, i quite often shred enemy infantry when I bring it out
I like the Churchill gun carrier. Especially on Rotterdam and Twisted Steel if you donât get too close. I feel like a dirty artillery truck from BF1 in it but I move up to support The blueberries. And I think it can give the Axis a run for their money.
The armor piercing rounds on the panzer 4 allow you to two shot any tank in the game.
My favourite is the sturmtiger. Such pure firepower!

Interesting fact: The Panzer 38T absolutely decimates the Staghound in a 1v1.
I also think it's personally one of the best tanks with APCR rounds. You can pretty easily get the drop on most tanks and solo them especially if you take out their turret. Sadly though it loses to everything but the AA's and the Staghound if it's the one being dropped on. The Staghound a joke if it doesn't use the tubes on it's turret since APCR rounds from the 38T do around 40 damage per hit if you hit it's turret.

I destroyed the entire enemy team's tanks, such as panzers and tigers whilst in a churchill. Not sure if it had any upgrades, ended up getting 20+ kills that were all tanks. Also the map that I was playing on was the one you were playing on as a tiger, I was on the right side of the town where it overlooked the wheat fields (aka where every german tank rushes through).
We need an update for the pacific theatre.

Sorry but I have to give some love to the Stug. Ik that you mentioned having a good squad mate, but if you have a friend on comms, the Stug is the best tank by far. Best against infantry and tanks.
The Anti-Tank potential is not even comparable to the Tiger. Itâs also not that good in the armor department

About the anti tank, your absolutely right. If you run the howitzer. But, that's where the teamate comes in. If you have someone to repair you from the outside, it doesn't matter if you do way less dpm against tanks. You will win any 1 v 1 vs any tank. Tanks simply can't kill each other if there are repairmen involved. It takes nearly all of a tanks rounds to do it.

The Churchill MkVIII is one of the best good versitility and good armour can take down a Tiger with the APCR rounds i think they are what they are called
Personally I love using the heavy tanks, I destroy almost all my targets with the exception of planes because I can't lead something that fast
My favorite is Churchill with howitzer and snake launcher, especially in small maps. It just shred infantry and also not bad against vehicle. In fact you can hit tank behind cover with the howitzer and the shell has less chances to bounce off. All you need is to get familar to the shell drop.
Definitely a great tank against infantry, especially on modes where people bunch up and so on

There are a few not quite quantitative features of tanks that boost/impede their capabilities.
For example, Valentine Archer's shells have VERY LARGE hitboxes and can cause difficulty in landing precision shots.
Valentine tanks take unreasonably large amounts of damage from direct hits to their tracks in the front and back, I suspect there could be bugs causing damage being calculated multiple times (I once hit a Valentine for 98 with a single HEAT round). The regular Valentine has some cheeky armor angles to avoid this disadvantage but the Archer can't even effectively angle its hull.
Also, in reality, a tank's different strengths should have different weights and more factors can be considered. Armor, for example, directly impacts anti-tank and anti-infantry abilities and should be weighted higher - anti-infantry operation is hard to achieve if said infantry each pulls out a PIAT and collaboratively kill you with 3 shots in 1 second (yes I'm talking about the Stag and T38). Mobility is crucial for a tank's basic survival and effectiveness, but its impact dwindles as it gets higher, and becomes more significant at the lower end. Anti-air is also a category that shouldn't really impact a tank's rating unless it is their designated function.
Yea I totally agree with having a weighted scoring system. But then it will become another problem to see how much each is weighed. In the end, just supposed to be an entertainment and not the most scientific ranking. And straight up ranking is actually impossible as they all perform differently depending on how it is used and on what map. And I do believe the 98 is either a bug or you were looking at the score instead of the actual damage.
