- The latest version of the GMT-Master II now comes in your choice of statement-making solid yellow gold, as well as Rolesor, Rolex’s trademark for steel/yellow gold models. Solid gold GMT-Masters have always been a baller choice, and this new rebirth is no exception. It has mammoth wrist presence, even though its dimensions aren’t particularly oversized. It’s got the same 40mm diameter and case height of 11.9mm as before, but a yellow gold Rolex is one of the biggest sticks in a forest of iconic watches.

Both the full gold and Rolesor versions get a new Cerachrom ceramic bidirectional bezel, in day/night grey and black with gold infilled numerals. The bezel colours work especially well on the two-tone version, with the grey picking up the steel tones quite nicely. The handset is also gold, including the GMT hand, which looks great against the jet-black dial. The whole affair has a real John Player Special thing going on.
As with all Rolex calibres, the 3285 movement is Superlative Chronometer certified, with +2/-2 seconds per day accuracy, and it features a power reserve of 70 hours.

What an amazing piece. Love the full gold. The bezel in black and grey is a work of art and the jubilee bracelet fits it perfectly.
Yellow gold is cool even when it's not cool. I prefer the Rootie rolesor to full rose but this in full yellow is smokin.

The committee. It’s bezel was designed by a committee. Some members wanted the black bezel to return while the other half of the committee said “we agreed to have two colors on our GMT bezels”. They all compromised, and we got a black and grey bezel. It looks ok, but that’s how it came about.

From the 1979 Concorde Rolex advert worn by the pilots. The UK test pilot, Brian Trubshaw wore one in 1969 for the first test flights. It’s first commercial flight was in 1976, when I was 11-years-old to Bahrain UAE.
I’d call it ‘The Concorde’ or ‘The Brian Trubshaw.’

I have the previous yellow gold on black dial. IMHO the previous model is much nicer because the date color is green and gmt indicator is green and my experience with jubilee bracelets is it tends to accumulate dirt.
I also have the same watch and totally agree with all your points! The green indicator and date really set the watch off. Plus oyster looks much better. Best rolex ever!
